  1. Tolaini Al Passo

    2019 / 750 ml. | Item#58664

    VN9393 pts. - Vinous - Jul 2022
The 2019 Al Passo is rich, ample and generous. Healthy dollops of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon turbocharge Sangiovese, adding depth and structure. Red-fleshed Sangiovese fruit emerges over time. The 2019 is deep and quite fleshy, but it also has a good deal of brightness to balance some of its more overt leanings. (Antonio Galloni)
    SP9191 pts. - Wine Spectator - Nov 30, 2022
An expressive, fruity style, this red features cherry, raspberry, plum, floral and wild herb aromas and flavors. Dense and lively, with a lingering aftertaste of red fruit and herbs. Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Best from 2023 through 2036. 10,000 cases made, 7,000 cases imported. (Bruce Sanderson)

    2020 / 750 ml. | Item#58687

    WE93+93–95 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 1/1/2022
Barrel Sample. Crisp and tight with fine citrus flavors, the wine is beautifully proportioned with textured, zesty acidity. It shows balance between its structure and its fruits that will only get better as it matures. (Roger Voss)
    JS93+93–94 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Thursday, May 27, 2021
An excellent white Carbonnieux with sliced-lemon, lime and mineral character, as well as hints of citrus seeds. It’s medium-to full-bodied with lots of bright acidity and a flavorful finish. Minerally at the end.
    SP9292 pts. - Wine Spectator - Web only – 2023
Fresh and breezy, with a fleur de sel edge that adds nice energy to the core of gooseberry, white peach and lemon gelée. Presents a pretty quinine echo through the finish. Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon. Drink now through 2026. 15,000 cases made, 3,500 cases imported. (James Molesworth)
    VN90+90–92 pts. - Vinous - Jun 2021
The 2020 Carbonnieux Blanc is a very pretty wine. Bright Sauvignon Blanc notes give the 2020 its distinctive aromatic signatures, while the Sémillon adds just enough mid-palate creaminess to hold it all together. Lemon confit, white flowers, sage, mint and tomato leaf linger nicely. (Antonio Galloni)

  3. Columbia Crest Grand Estates Cabernet Sauvignon

    2020 / 750 ml. | Item#44604

    WE8989 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 12/31/2022
Cabernet Sauvignon plus a small percentage of Merlot and Syrah adds up to a big “bang for the buck” experience. Black-cherry, dark-chocolate and orange aromas are flanked by wee bits of well-worn leather and roasted red bell pepper. The wine has grippy tannins and soft acidity to match up with gobs of blackcap-raspberry and blueberry flavors. Little touches of cedar and mocha powder add interest. (Michael Alberty)
    WS8888 pts. - Wine & Spirits - 12/22

    <>
    2019 / 750 ml. | Item#56559

    VN9595 pts. - Vinous - Oct 2021
Saturated ruby. Deep-pitched red/blue fruit liqueur aromas pick up suggestions of licorice, pipe tobacco and pungent flowers and herbs with air. In a lush, weighty style, offering expansive black raspberry, cherry cola, singed plum and fruitcake flavors sharpened by a jolt of spiciness on the back half. For all this wine’s richness, it’s energetic as well, showing solid, spice- and floral-driven persistence on the finish, which is framed by velvety, even tannins.
    JD94+94+ pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 11/3/2021
The 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape is ruby/purple-hued and has the classic translucent color of the domaine. It’s more precise and focused than the Télégramme and will need more time, but it offers a complex, gorgeous bouquet of red and black fruits, crushed stone, wild fennel, and ground pepper. Pure, medium to full-bodied, and elegant, do your best to hide bottles for 5–7 years and it’s going to keep for two decades. (Jeb Dunnuck)

Limpid orange. A sharply focused, mineral-accented bouquet evokes fresh red berries and pit fruits, citrus pith and pungent flowers. Silky and penetrating on the palate, offering tangy redcurrant, pomegranate and blood orange flavors and a hint of honeysuckle. The floral note builds steadily through an impressively long, nervy finish that echoes the citrus and mineral notes. (Josh Raynolds)
    RP9191 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 11th Aug 2022
Call it a down year if you must, but the 2021 Cotes de Provence Rose Chateau de Selle remains one of the region’s top wines. Scents of tangerine, peach, crushed stone and lime zest mark the nose, while the medium-bodied palate is plump and juicy, finishing long and layered. The assemblage this year is 55% Grenache, 30% Cinsault, 10% Mourvèdre and 5% Syrah. (Joe Czerwinski)

  6. Fattoria dei Barbi Brunello di Montalcino

    2016 / 750 ml. | Item#54454

    SP9595 pts. - Wine Spectator - Mar 24, 2021
This red is pure and supple, evoking cherry, blackberry, licorice, earth and spice flavors, delivering almost seamless harmony at this early stage, with refined tannins that are very well-integrated. Shows fine length, courtesy of the vibrant acidity. Best from 2023 through 2043. 16,600 cases made, 2,000 cases imported. (Bruce Sanderson)
    JD9595 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - March 4, 2021
The 2016 Brunello has delicate savory aromas of rosemary, dried raspberry, and floral forest floor. There is freshness and pure ripe fruit that fills the palate, with blood orange, dried red cherry, and fresh tomato leaf as well as classic, angular tannin structure and a pleasant light bitterness. This wonderfully expressed traditional wine will be prime for enjoyment over the next 15 years. 2021–2036. (Jeb Dunnuck)
    JS9595 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Wednesday, November 11, 2020
Aromas of plums, cherries, flowers and sandalwood follow through to a full body with chewy, polished tannins and a long, flavorful finish. Lots of structure and intensity. Give it at least three or four years to come around. Try after 2025.
    RP94+94+ pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Nov 2020
The 2016 Brunello di Montalcino is a delicate and graceful wine. It shows the precision, linearity and power of the vintage for sure, but it also delivers floral tones, bright raspberry, toasted almond and a playful touch of medicinal herb that shape a careful and contemplative bouquet. Those bright aromatic nuances are followed by silky tannins and softly finessed fruit flavors. With an ample 160,000 bottles made, this is a solid go-to Brunello, especially if you are looking for a bottle with a relatively accessible drinking window.
    VN9494 pts. - Vinous - Nov 2020
Dark and minerally intense from start to finish, the 2016 Brunello di Montalcino displays crushed stone and ashen earth tones before blossoming further with notes of black cherry, cedar box and sage. The textures are creamy, with cooling acids that lift the expression while also maintaining an energetic feel, as tart wild berries and spices give way to a coating of fine tannins. This is full of character, yet youthfully poised and tense, but it’s like a bomb waiting to explode. Fattoria dei Barbi really overdelivers in 2016, but it will be a number of years before this is truly ready to drink. (Eric Guido)

    2016 / 750 ml. | Item#58320

    JS9595 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Wednesday, November 11, 2020
A full-bodied red with cherry, walnut and coffee undertones. It’s full and complete with beautiful intensity and a focused tannin structure. Very tight and intense. Perhaps the best ever. Better after 2025. (James Suckling)
    VN9494 pts. - Vinous - Nov 2020
The darkly alluring and spicy 2016 Brunello di Montalcino lifts up with a display of white smoke giving way to black cherries, sage, a dusting of cinnamon, clove and hints of licorice. It’s medium in body and silky in texture, showing gorgeous inner sweetness, as balsamic-laced red berries and minerals cascade across the palate. The tannins are round yet persistent, balanced by vibrant acids which maintain freshness, finishing with excellent length and remnants of primary fruit. The 2016 Palazzo needs some cellaring to show its best, and it’s full of potential. (Eric Guido)
    WE9393 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 5/1/2021
A camphor aroma joins new leather, underbrush and pipe tobacco in this classically crafted Brunello. Youthfully austere and firmly structured, the palate delivers dried cherry, licorice and grilled porcini set against a tannic backbone. It’s still young but balanced by fresh acidity. Give it plenty of time to come around. Drink 2026–2036. (Kerin O’Keefe)
    JD9393 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 3/4/2021
Notes of black cherry fruit, sassafras, dried thyme, and baked earth. Black cherry lozenge fills the midpalate, with persistent tannin and balanced acid. The 2016 Brunello has grounding and powerful structure, with more finesse and lift than the 2015, which will be a wine to cellar or drink over the next 15 years. 2023–2036 (Audrey Frick)
    WS9393 pts. - Wine & Spirits - 04/22
This midweight wine unfolds with flavors of macerated cherries and blackberries laced with notes of tobacco leaf and dried thyme. The wine takes on notes of licorice and subtle spice with air, the flavors buoyed by lively acidity that keeps the fruit tones fresh and taut.

    2017 / 750 ml. | Item#55513

    RP91+91+ pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 22nd Oct 2020
Dark ruby, the 2017 Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has a bold and structured nose with layers of complex aromas of juicy cherry, blackberry, dusty plum, dried herbs, bitter dark chocolate and soft herbaceous green notes. Medium to full-bodied, the wine is full in flavor, displaying a balanced structure that gives pleasure with qualities of spiced black cherry, dusty plum skin and soft mocha expressions that continue to evolve on the persistent, elongated finish. Give this delicious and succulent wine a try.
    VN9191 pts. - Vinous - Dec 2020
Bright ruby-red. Complex scents of black cherry, currant, menthol, mocha, licorice and peppery herbs, plus a whiff of tobacco leaf; displays a stronger herbal element than the 2016. Plush, silky and easygoing on entry, then very ripe in the middle, with a suggestion of almost liqueur-like mocha/chocolate ripeness. Finishes with broad, serious, refined tannins that dust the palate and build quickly with air. This is softer than the 2016 but without quite that wine’s finesse and light touch. A very chocolatey-rich, dense wine with restrained sweetness and good savory character. Serious concentration.

    WE9292 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 3/1/2021
With oenologue Michel Rolland’s team behind this estate, it is not surprising that this wine is rich while also structured and perfumed. Wood aging gives a final polish to a full, generous and ageworthy wine. Drink from 2023.
    VN8888 pts. - Vinous - Mar 2021
The 2018 Le Doyenné is nicely done. Sweet floral notes and bright, red berry fruit give this mid-weight Côtes de Bordeaux a good deal of charm. Drink it over the next handful of years.

Lots of spiced red and black fruits, cedarwood, sappy flowers, and incense notes emerge from the 2018 Château Le Doyenne, It’s a nicely balanced, medium-bodied 2018 with plenty of sweet fruit, a solid sense of freshness and purity, ripe tannins, and a clean finish. 11. Domaine de Chevalier Pessac-Léognan

    Grand Cru Classé de Graves
    2019 / 750 ml. | Item#60246

    RP9797 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 7th Apr 2022
The 2019 Domaine de Chevalier is a magical wine in the making, wafting from the glass with aromas of wild plums, crushed blackcurrants and violets mingled with hints of pencil shavings, subtle spices and coniferous forest floor. Medium to full-bodied, deep and seamless, with a vibrant core of fruit, beautifully refined tannins and lively acids, it’s exquisitely elegant and harmonious, concluding with a long, perfumed finish. Stylistically, this wine exhibits a much closer affinity with the great Domaine de Chevalier of yesteryear than much of what was produced here in the early 2000s. It’s a masterclass in what contemporary Bordeaux can deliver, and worth a special effort to seek out. (William Kelley)
    VN9797 pts. - Vinous - Feb 2023
The 2019 Domaine de Chevalier has a precise and complex bouquet with blackberry, cedar and tobacco scents, quite Médoc-like in style. This is thoroughly engaging. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, exquisitely integrated oak, fleshy and fine-boned with a precise finish. This is outstanding. Tasted blind at the Southwold annual tasting. (Neal Martin)
    JD9797 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 4/11/2022
I loved the 2019 Domaine De Chevalier, which is unquestionably up with the crème de la crème of the vintage. A blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, and 5% Petit Verdot that saw just 35% new oak, it sports a dense purple hue as well as a killer, quintessential Graves bouquet of darker black fruits, scorched earth, truffle, cold fireplace, tobacco, and graphite. More medium to full-bodied on the palate, it has brilliant purity, ultra-fine tannins, flawless balance, and a great, great finish. It’s not a blockbuster but has this incredible sense of class, balance, and finesse while being rich and concentrated. It’s a gorgeous wine, and wine lovers will adore being able to compare this side by side with the 2015, 2016, and 2018 over the coming 3–4 decades. (Jeb Dunnuck)

    VN9696 pts. - Vinous - Feb 2023
It’s hard to put the glass down while exploring the depths of raspberry compote, dried orange peels, roses, exotic spice and a dusting of cocoa that form the absolutely stunning bouquet of the 2019 Carmignano Riserva Piaggia. This is pure elegance. It’s silky and refined as liquid violet florals and ripe red and black fruits easily rush across the palate. Its vibrant acidity maintains exceptional finesse despite the massive primary concentration slowly taking hold. The 2019 finishes long with a coating of sweet tannins and balsamic-tinged cherry. The balance here is amazing, which might trick readers into finishing their bottles far too quickly, but trust me, the best is truly yet to come. This is Rock Star juice. (Eric Guido)

  13. Beringer Private Reserve Chardonnay

    2020 / 750 ml. | Item#58805

    RP9393 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 31st May 2022
Although not labeled as such, Beringer’s Private Reserve Chardonnay has been sourced for decades from the Gamble Ranch in Oakville. Planted around 1976 to Clone 4, the grapes are picked ripe and barrel fermented at relatively warm temperatures to build mouthfeel. The 2020 Chardonnay Private Reserve (along with all the other white varieties) was picked prior to any risk of smoke taint. Marked by scents of mango, guava and pineapple, it doesn’t come across as that oaky, despite being barrel fermented and aged in approximately 80% new French oak. It’s full-bodied and slightly buttery, with an appealing custardy richness and a long finish. (Joe Czerwinski)
    SP9292 pts. - Wine Spectator - Jul 31, 2022
Peach, apricot and mango flavors are juicy and fleshy at the core of this white, with honeyed overtones. Salted butter, spice and toasted pastry notes emerge on the finish, as does a touch of dried ginger. Drink now. 8,714 cases made. (MaryAnn Worobiec)
    VN9191 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2022
The 2020 Chardonnay Private Reserve is creamy, open-knit and expressive. Lemon confit, spice, vanillin and light tropical notes all grace the 2020. As always, the Private Reserve is done in a richer, creamier style than the Luminus Chardonnay. That approach worked well in 2020. (Antonio Galloni)

    2019 / 750 ml. | Item#60563

    VN9595 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2022
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is a huge, opulent wine. A blast of inky dark fruit, chocolate, spice, plum and menthol gives the 2019 its racy, extroverted personality. The Estate is a typical wine from Cade that balances Howell Mountain intensity with plenty of Napa Valley lushness. The 2019 is sure to be a crowd pleaser. (Antonio Galloni)
    JD9595 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 5/4/2022
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is even better, with a stunning nose of black and blue fruits as well as iron, black olive tapenade, and subtle herbal nuances. Pure 2019 goodness on the palate, it’s full-bodied, has ripe, polished tannins, a great mid-palate, and one heck of a finish. It’s not for those looking for old school Claret, but it brings beautiful richness and depth and will shine for at least 10–12 years as well. (Jeb Dunnuck)

    RP94+94+ pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 7th Oct 2021
The Castello di Ama 2018 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione San Lorenzo is one of the most distinctive wines in the ample portfolio offered by this estate. I always seem to find a balsamic note in the San Lorenzo Sangiovese (a blend of some of the property’s best fruit, with a touch of Merlot and Malvasia Nera thrown in), and it definitely comes through in this vintage with grilled rosemary and even a touch of black olive. This wine is truly Mediterranean in spirit and it boasts an all-Italian identity. Its supple, mid-weight texture is amplified by elegant fruit and spice. And the wine’s fresh acidity makes it the ideal pairing partner with your favorite Tuscan pasta or pici recipes. (Monica Larner)
    VN9494 pts. - Vinous - Sep 2021
The 2018 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Castello di Ama San Lorenzo is a deep, potent wine. Black cherry, gravel, smoke, licorice, chocolate, spice infuse the San Lorenzo with tons of dark Sangiovese character. A heady, muscular wine, the 2019 exudes tremendous richness. I would give it a few years. The 2018 is a wine of aromatic intrigue and intensity. (Antonio Galloni)
