  1. Philip Togni Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

    2014 / 750 ml. | Item#44920

    VN9797 pts. - Vinous - Dec 2016
Togni’s 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is quite dark and powerful, but also very much medium in body. Graphite, smoke, savory herbs, mint, leather and a core of inky dark red and purplish fruit infuse this deep, beautifully layered Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2014 is a wine built on energy and aromatics that won’t hit its stride until at least age ten.
    RP94+94+ pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Dec 2016
The flagship wine, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate from his vineyard high on Spring Mountain is a blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. It seems slightly more approachable and civilized for a young Togni wine, with a dense ruby/purple color, loads of blackcurrant, licorice, and graphite, some earth and spice, but very subtle earth nuances. It is full-bodied and rich, but the tannins are well-integrated and don’t scream as loudly as some vintages of Togni can. For Togni, this is probably one of his more forward and precociously styled Cabernets. It will probably approach drinkability in several years, but don’t discount its aging potential, as this easily has 20–25 years of cellaring potential.

  2. Champagne Bollinger La Grand Année

    2014 / 750 ml. | Item#57145

    VN9898 pts. - Vinous - Mar 2022
The 2014 La Grande Année is stunning. In fact, it is one of the best recent editions I can remember tasting. What comes through most is the wine’s sizzling energy and tension, qualities that aren’t often associated with Bollinger, where the Champagnes tend to show more breadth and volume. In 2014, readers will find a Grande Année built on linear intensity and drive.
    SP9797 pts. - Wine Spectator - Jun 30, 2022
Racy acidity drives this mouthwatering Champagne, enlivening the rich panoply of flavors. Features a fine and creamy mousse that’s still a lively springboard for aromas and flavors of crème de cassis, glazed tangerine, roasted hazelnut, ground coffee, pickled ginger and white blossoms. Long and satiny, with minerally salt and chalk notes gaining momentum on the lasting finish. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Disgorged July 2021. Drink now through 2037. 1,500 cases imported.
    RP9595 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 7th Mar 2022
Offering up complex aromas of crisp yellow orchard fruit, confit citrus, frangipane, walnuts, dried white flowers and subtle hints of iodine, Bollinger’s 2014 Brut La Grande Année is medium to full-bodied, pillowy and vinous, with an elegantly fleshy core of fruit that’s underpinned by racy acids and complemented by a pretty pinpoint mousse. Concluding with a long, chalky finish, this is a charming but precise Grande Année that’s more giving and demonstrative than its immediate predecessor, the 2012, but which attains a very similar level of quality in a more challenging vintage — testimony to the serious viticulture that underpins Bollinger’s contemporary excellence.

  3. Château d’Yquem Sauternes

    2014 / 375 ml. | Item#59861

    VN9797 pts. - Vinous - Apr 2022
The 2014 Yquem was picked over four tries from 5 September to 30 October, a nine-week picking with 25% of the crop brought in before 25 September to obtain freshness. It has beautifully defined on the nose with dried honey, white peach, almond and chamomile and saffron emerging with time. The palate is beautifully balanced with fine acidity, lively and energetic, building wonderfully in the mouth with great sapidity on the finish. What a bloomin’ gorgeous Yquem. Tasted at the château. (Neal Martin)
    RP96+96–98 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 29th Apr 2015
The Château Yquem 2014 was picked over 9 weeks this year, with one-quarter of the grapes picked prior to 15 September. It delivers 134 grams per liter residual sugar and 7.3 grams per liter tartaric acid, with a pH 3.60. It has a captivating bouquet (I know… I know… what else were you expecting) But it entrances with its pure, wild honey notes mixed with almond and white chocolate scents, bestowed with beguiling delineation and focus. The palate is very poised with the acidity nigh on perfect. Occasionally an Yquem only reveals its components parts at this early juncture, necessitates conjecture. However the 2014 has a sense of harmony and completeness already, as if the élevage is merely there to usher it on to its finished state. There is undeniably great depth here, perhaps less conspicuous than other vintages because of that silver thread of acidity: notes of lemon sherbet, orange zest, shaved ginger and again, a few “flakes” of white chocolate. It is extremely long with tenderness rather than power on the finish. It’s not quite up there in the rarefied heights of say, the 2001 or 2009, but it is what we call in the trade, “the business.” (Neal Martin)

  5. Louis Jadot Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru

    Domaine Louis Jadot
    2014 / 750 ml. | Item#44043

    RP94+94–96 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Dec 2015
The 2014 Chapelle Chambertin Grand Cru is maybe the surprise package this year. It comes from very old vines planted in 1921. It has a really quite beautiful bouquet with very pure, mineral-rich wild strawberry and raspberry fruit — precise and wonderfully focused. The palate is crisp and taut on the entry, fresh and tensile but with intense tart red cherry and strawberry fruit fanning out on the finish. Très grand cru! This comes highly recommended.
    VN93+93–95 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2016
Medium bright red, not hugely saturated. Brisk, high-pitched perfume of black cherry, rose petal, red licorice and spices. Juicy, bright and light on its feet, showing outstanding sneaky intensity to the very concentrated flavors of raspberry, minerals and rose petal. Very dense, classy and fine-grained grand cru with a strikingly long, rising finish. This makes the Clos Saint-Jacques seem a bit lean by comparison. These are Jadot’s oldest vines, says Barnier, and they virtually always yield about 35 hectoliters per hectare.

  6. Azelia Barolo Margheria

    2014 / 750 ml. | Item#48576

    VN9494 pts. - Vinous - Feb 2018
The 2014 Barolo Margheria opens with beguiling, deep-pitched aromatics. Bright red cherry and plum fruit, licorice, anise, rose water and orange peel are some of the many notes that give the wine its personality. Bright, saline and sculpted in feel, the 2014 is going to need a few years to fully unwind, but it is unquestionably vibrant and expressive today. The 2014 spent three years in cask.
    SP9393 pts. - Wine Spectator - Mar 31, 2019
Savory, boasting lavender, juniper and mint aromas, yet there is sweet ripe cherry and plum fruit flavors for balance too. Builds to a long finish, where big tannins reign. Best from 2023 through 2043. 675 cases made.
    RP9292 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 29th Jun 2018
Here is a darker and more robust wine from Serralunga d’Alba where soils are heavier. They also show a greater presence of clay and limestone. The 2014 Barolo Margheria is made with fruit from 50-year-old vines and shows compact and dense aromatic intensity as a result. The bouquet is constructed on top of thick layers of dark fruit, dried cherry, balsam herb and crushed mineral. The 2014 mouthfeel, however, veers toward the lean and compact side of the Barolo spectrum.

  7. Louis Jadot Savigny-Lès-Beaune Clos des Guettes Premier Cru

    2014 / 750 ml. | Item#44045

    RP89+89–91 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Dec 2015
The 2014 Savigny les Beaune 1Er Cru Clos des Guettes has more roundness on the nose than Jadot’s other 2014 Savignys — a little more plumpness with strawberry and Morello scents developing. The palate is fleshy on the entry with good weight, a fine line of acidity, fine tannin, very focused with a tensile, quite minerally finish that is very satisfying. This comes highly recommended.
    VN87+87–88 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2016
Healthy bright red. Sexy aromas of ripe cherry, raspberry, spices and underbrush. On the palate, the red berry and menthol flavors show a distinct soil-driven salinity and good texture. More tannic than the Savigny-lès-Beaune Les Lavières but has good supporting stuffing.

  8. Bedrock Carlisle Vineyard Zinfandel

    2014 / 750 ml. | Item#42419

    VN92+92+ pts. - Vinous - Feb 2016
The 2014 Carlisle Vineyard is one of the more structured, driving wines in the lineup. Today, my impression is of a tightly wound, powerful red that is going to need time to come together. Sweet red cherry, pomegranate, spice and mint are all pushed forward, but the 2014 needs time. The only question is how much. This is a distinctly red fruit-toned version of the Carlisle.
    RP9292 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 29th Oct 2015
From Mike Officer’s home vineyard, the 2014 Zinfandel Carlisle Vineyard (planted in 1927) tips the scales at a whopping 14.9% alcohol, but hides it beneath a cascade of beautiful briary, raspberry, black cherry and blackcurrant fruit. It’s full-bodied, deliciously pure, ripe and a total hedonistic turn-on. Drink it over the next 5–6 years.

  9. Buoncristiani Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

    2014 / 750 ml. | Item#44871

    RP9696 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Dec 2016
Their 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon, which is 94% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Malbec (437 cases), is a stunner. Super-opaque purple in color, this cuvée is provocative and world-class. Inky purple in color, with crème de cassis, blackberry, espresso, graphite and a touch of oak, the wine is full-bodied, extremely rich and pure with wonderfully integrated acidity, tannin and alcohol. The finish goes on for 50+ seconds. This is a killer wine and a great 2014 that is capable of lasting 25–30 or more years for those with patience.
    VN9292 pts. - Vinous - Dec 2016
Buoncristiani’s 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the most immediate and flamboyant 2014s I tasted. Dark, plush and inviting, the 2014 possesses tons of concentration and breadth. Silky tannins give the wine its seamless, voluptuous personality. The bold, powerful style is undeniably attractive.

  10. Champagne Larmandier-Bernier Les Chemins d’Avize

    Extra-Brut Blanc de Blancs
    2014 / 750 ml. | Item#58117

    RP9696 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 31st Jan 2022
Disgorged in June 2021, Larmandier-Bernier’s 2014 Extra-Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Les Chemins d’Avize is still tightly wound, unwinding in the glass with aromas of citrus oil, crisp yellow orchard fruit, almond paste, vanilla pod and freshly baked bread. Medium to full-bodied, seamless and complete, it’s deep and concentrated, with ripe but racy acids and a pretty pinpoint mousse, concluding with a long, chalky finish. This is a more charming, immediate rendition of this cuvée than its 2013 predecessor, but it will still reward at least a few years on cork. (William Kelley)
    VN9595 pts. - Vinous - Nov 2021
The 2014 Extra Brut Les Chemins d’Avize Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru is fabulous. Rich, ample and potent, the 2014 possesses tremendous density from start to finish. Apricot, spice, dried flowers, graphite and lemon confit all build in a Champagne of enormous resonance. The pedigree here is evident. Chemins d’Avize is a blend from the Chemin de Plivot and Chemin de Flavigny lieux-dits. It was vinified in neutral oak and bottled with dosage of two grams per liter. Disgorged: June, 2021. 11. Château Haut-Bailly Pessac-Léognan

    2014 / 750 ml. | Item#53317

    RP9494 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 31st Mar 2017
The 2014 Haut Bailly has a charming, quite intense bouquet with layers of blackberry, raspberry coulis, black olive and melted tar scents that soar from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, well-judged acidity, harmonious and focused with superb density and precision towards the finish. This is a classy number and alongside Domaine de Chevalier, it is one of the standouts from the appellation in this vintage.
    VN9494 pts. - Vinous - Mar 2018
The 2014 Haut-Bailly has a sophisticated bouquet with cedar and gravel-infused red berry fruit, gaining intensity with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, quite supple tannins that manage to form a firm frame that should see this repay cellaring. There is plenty of attractive, lightly spice red and black fruit, segueing into clove and black olive notes towards the finish. Excellent. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting.
    JD9494 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - October 15, 2018
The 2014 Château Haut Bailly is a beauty and shows the best of the vintage in its charming, forward, complex bouquet of black cherries, kirsch, dried flowers, and black raspberries, with just a hint of building earthy minerality and tobacco. Pure silk on the palate, with medium to full body, ripe, present tannins, and a great mid-palate, it’s a rock star 2014 to enjoy over the coming two decades or so. (Jeb Dunnuck)

    VN9595 pts. - Vinous - Dec 2016
The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon is super-refined, polished and articulate, with mid-weight structure and fine overall balance. Readers should expect a somewhat laid-back wine by Dalla Valle’s standards. In 2014, the Cabernet Sauvignon is especially aromatic and nuanced. It should drink well with minimal cellaring.

  13. Grand Vin de Château Latour

    2014 / 750 ml. | Item#58301

    RP97+97+ pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 15th Mar 2022
The 2014 Latour is one of the very finest wines of a vintage that favored the northern Médoc. Mingling aromas of wild berries and cassis with hints of cigar wrapper, loamy soil, black truffles and classy new oak, it’s full-bodied, rich and concentrated, its broad attack segueing into a deep, tightly wound mid-palate that’s framed by powdery, chalky tannins and bright acids, concluding with a long, mouthwatering finish. This classically balanced, youthfully structured young wine looks set to enjoy prodigious longevity. It’s reminiscent of a modern-day version of a cooler vintage such as 1996, though of course these days maturity is more complete and selection even more rigorous than was the case two decades ago. (William Kelley)
    JD96+96+ pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 8/20/2022
The 2014 Château Latour is still a baby and relatively closed and backward, offering darker, meaty black fruits, tobacco, truffly earth, and graphite on the nose. It’s much more dense and structured than I would have imagined from tasting on release and offers full-bodied richness, a beautiful mid-palate, fabulous overall balance, and no shortage of tannins on the finish. This vintage was terrific for the Médoc, particularly the northern Médoc, and this beauty warrants another 7–8 years of bottle age, after which I suspect it will have well over 3 decades of overall longevity. The blend is 89.9% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9.2% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot that hit 12.8% alcohol. (Jeb Dunnuck)
    VN9696 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2022
The 2014 Latour captures the personality of the year in its linear, lithe construction. It’ss a decidedly understated Latour that is more about finesse than brawn. Bright red cherry/plum fruit, spice, mint and sweet tobacco open over time, but at this level, wines are more about a feel, an expression of place and a vintage. The 2014 Latour embodies all the best this cool, late-ripening growing season had to offer. I loved the 2014 when it was first shown, about five years ago, and I love it today. It is a super-classic Pauillac. (Antonio Galloni)

    2014 / 750 ml. | Item#45350

    RP9494 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 28th Oct 2016
A blend of 72% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Petit Verdot, the 2014 Firebelle finished at 14.9% alcohol. It is a beautifully rich, chocolaty wine with notes of savory spices, black cherries and mulberries, some fudge and coffee bean. It has medium to full body, outstanding purity, concentration and length. It was aged in 66% new French oak for 19 months prior to bottling. Drink it over the next 15–20 years.
    VN92+92–95 pts. - Vinous - Oct 2015
A precise, aromatically lifted wine, the 2014 Firebelle boasts striking finesse and overall delineation. Hints of lavender, spice and mint meld into a core of super-expressive dark red and bluish fruits. Here, too, the comparison with the 2013 is telling. There is plenty of potential, that much is clear.

    2014 / 750 ml. | Item#45349

    RP9595 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 28th Oct 2016
Even more prodigious is the 2014 LMV Salon. Composed of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Cabernet Franc from the sandy Bale Loam soils of the 110 acres Larkmead possesses, it is a bigger boy at 14.9% alcohol but shows lots of crushed rock and wet gravel minerality, a beautiful, cedary, blackcurrant nose with notes of forest floor, allspice and soy, with more blackberry on the palate as well as some savory herbs and spice. Hints of licorice also make an appearance in this broad, fleshy, juicy and succulent style of wine meant for drinking now and over the next 20 years.
    JS9494 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Friday, May 5, 2017
Lots of blueberry, licorice and gun-powder aromas follow through to medium to full body, fine tannins and a savory finish. Lovely balance and fruitiness. Lovely now. Tangy minerality. Drink and enjoy.
    VN93+93–96 pts. - Vinous - Oct 2015
Larkmead’s 2014 LMV Salon is sweet, nuanced and totally sexy. Pliant and super-expressive, even at this early stage, the 2014 is shaping up to be a beauty. Today, the fruit is quite primary, with plenty of sweet red cherry and plum nuances to match its supple personality.
