JS9494 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Tuesday, April 12, 2022 I love the expansive and expressive nose of wild blackberry with a touch of forest floor. Ripe, concentrated and fresh on the very focused palate. Very long finish with so much mineral freshness for the warm vintage. Excellent aging potential! Drink or hold.VN9191 pts. - Vinous - Aug 2021 Deep violet color. Displays candied red berry, smoky mineral, potpourri and star anise qualities on the incisive nose. Juicy and penetrating in the mouth, offering mineral-accented raspberry, bitter cherry and floral pastille flavors and a hint of botanical herbs. Finishes spicy and very long, with lingering florality and harmonious tannins. (Josh Raynolds)
VN9191 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2021 The 2019 Gamay Noir El Dorado is another hugely appealing wine in this lineup. Sweet red cherry, plum, rose petal and spice give the 2019 striking inner sweetness and perfume. In this vintage, the El Dorado is a bit lighter in feel than it has been in the past. I imagine that is partly a reflection of the year and also the result of a reduction in carbonic maceration in the winemaking.
VN9191 pts. - Vinous - May 2023 The 2021 Fleurie Clos de la Grand Cour includes the fruit usually bottled as the Vieilles Vignes due to frost and vineyards stress. It has a little more concentration on the nose, wild strawberry and briary scents unfurling in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins and gentle grip. It is very transparent in style with a slightly tertiary finish. Very fine and complex. (Neal Martin)
VN9090 pts. - Vinous - Aug 2021 Shimmering violet. Ripe red and blue fruits, violet and a hint of musky herbs on the nose. Fleshy in texture and shows good depth to the black raspberry and boysenberry flavors, which stretch out steadily with air. Clings nicely on the gently tannic finish, echoing the cherry note.
VN9393 pts. - Vinous - May 2023 The 2021 Morgon Côte du Py, matured in used barrels, has a more complex bouquet than the Corcelette: a melange of red and black fruit, potpourri/lavender, and a faint hint of curry leaf that emerges with time. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins and a fine backbone considering the growing season. This is very fresh and saline with quite a strict finish. You could attempt this now though I would be intrigued to age this for another two or three years before broaching. (Neal Martin)
VN9393 pts. - Vinous - Aug 2021 Translucent ruby-red. Smoky, mineral-tinged red fruit, spicecake, game and potpourri aromas are complemented by suggestions of allspice and licorice. Juicy bitter cherry and red currant flavors slowly flesh out and turn sweeter with aeration. Fine-grained tannins lend gentle grip to a long, red-fruit-dominated finish that hangs on with strong, spicy tenacity.
RP8989 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 20th Jan 2022 The 2020 Bourgogne Passetoutgrain A Minima bursts with aromas of berries, plums and cherries. Medium-bodied, rich and hearty, with a fleshy core of fruit, lively acids and ripe tannins, it has turned out nicely. As usual, it’s a blend of equal parts Gamay and Pinot Noir, vinified without added sulfites. (William Kelley)VN8787 pts. - Vinous - May 2022 The 2020 A Minima, Trapet’s Passetoutgrain, is quite floral on the nose, transparent and quite earthy in style. The palate is medium-bodied with a slightly candied opening, lightly spiced with a twist of sour cherry on the piquant finish. Forward and simply a lot of gluggable fun. (Neal Martin)
