VN9191 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2021 The 2019 Gamay Noir El Dorado is another hugely appealing wine in this lineup. Sweet red cherry, plum, rose petal and spice give the 2019 striking inner sweetness and perfume. In this vintage, the El Dorado is a bit lighter in feel than it has been in the past. I imagine that is partly a reflection of the year and also the result of a reduction in carbonic maceration in the winemaking.
VN9595 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2022 The 2020 Zinfandel Esola Vineyard is one of the highlights in this range from Bedrock. It opens with fabulous aromatics that are so vivid and so inviting. Sweet red berry fruit, pipe tobacco, cedar, sage and earthy accents lend striking nuance throughout. This is so seriously impressive.

Petite Sirah takes center stage in an inky, beautifully textured red that hits all the right notes. Here too, I am blown away by the purity and nuance Keplinger coaxes from her sites. The Sumo is heady and explosive, with tons of energy, with impeccable balance and a level of sheer allure that makes it absolutely irresistible, even in the early going.RP94+94+ pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 29th Oct 2018 The 2016 Sumo is blended of 93% Petite Sirah and 7% Viognier, aged 16 months in 66% new French oak. It is very deep purple-black in color and a little closed, revealing notes of crushed raspberries, black cherries and warm plums plus hints of wild blueberries, spice box and roses. The palate is full-bodied with a firm frame of very ripe, plush tannins and oodles of freshness lifting the red and black berry flavors to a long perfumed finish. 295 cases produced.JD9494 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - January 31, 2019 The inkiest colored wine in the lineup is the 2016 Sumo, which is a Petite Sirah-dominated blend that includes 13% Syrah and 3% Viognier, all from the Shake Ridge Vineyard in Amador County, aged 16 months in 60% new French oak. Its saturated purple color gives way to a ripe, full-bodied red that has good acidity and purity, classic notes of black and blue fruits, lots of minerality, and more nuanced notes of liquid violets, smoked earth, and spice. It’s a layered, ripe, balanced red that I suspect will be drinking nicely in another 15 years or more. (Jeb Dunnuck)
VN92+92–94 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2023 The 2021 Zinfandel Kirschenmann Vineyard is superb. In most vintages, the Kirschenmann can be a bit light, but in 2021 it offers a beguiling mix of its typical floral qualities, but with an extra kick of depth that holds everything together so well. Bright red berry fruit, rose petal, chalk, min and white pepper are some of the many notes that grace this striking Lodi Zinfandel from Turley. (Antonio Galloni)

Effusive in its aromatics, with striking red berry fruit and gorgeous purity, the Kirschenmann shows the elegance that is possible in Lodi. All the elements come together effortlessly in the glass. The 2019 is such a classy wine.RP92+92+ pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 4th Feb 2021 The medium ruby colored 2019 Zinfandel Kirschenmann Vineyard opens with a bit of tarry reduction over a core of black fruits and spices. The palate is offering much more at this youthful stage. It’s packed with dark, spiced fruits and is medium-bodied, soft and fresh with an earthy finish. It has great potential and just needs more time in bottle. 1,220 cases produced.

Bright, intensely aromatic and light on its feet, the 2020 is immediately appealing, right out of the gate. Crushed red berry fruit, mint, red flowers and cedar lend aromatic intensity. VN9393 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2021 The 2019 Zinfandel Steacey Ranch opens with a blast of dark cherry, plum, spice, leather and tobacco. Ripeness is decidedly pushed. Readers should expect an exuberant, flamboyant wine with generous dark fruit and tons of body. There is plenty of immediacy, but not a lot of subtlety. The Steacey Ranch Zinfandel is a wine of impact, that is obvious.RP9191 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 4th Feb 2021 The 2019 Zinfandel Steacy Ranch has a medium ruby color and opens with a touch of tarry reduction over a core of wild berry preserves and earth. Medium-bodied, the palate features dark, earth-laced fruits with a grainy frame and uplifted finish. Give it another year or two in bottle or a long decant. 1,070 cases produced.
VN9292 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2022 The 2020 Zinfandel Steacey Ranch is packed with super-ripe blue/purplish fruit, lavender, cinnamon and dried flowers. It is one of the more overt, juicy wines in this range. Time in the glass brings out intense floral notes and a whole range of red berry Zinfandel fruit. This is nicely done. (Antonio Galloni)
