  1. Borgo Magredo Prosecco Extra Dry

    NV / 750 ml. | Item#58554

    VN8989 pts. - Vinous - Dec 2020
The NV Prosecco Extra Dry is understated with a dusty display of white flowers, chamomile, crushed stone and pear. It’s pleasantly sweet and creamy, contrasted by brisk acids with notes of ripe apple and hints of spice. Floral nuances linger long through the perfectly fresh finale. (Eric Guido)

  2. Prá Amarone della Valpolicella Morandina

    2016 / 750 ml. | Item#58770

    VN96+96+ pts. - Vinous - Mar 2023
The 2016 Amarore della Valpolicella Morandina is dark and youthfully understated in the glass, as crushed rose petals and store dust give way to red currants. This is silky-smooth, nearly velvety in feel, with masses of mineral-tinged black cherry and spice contrasted by a twang of sour citrus. The 2016 finishes with outstanding length and depth yet is also remarkably fresh, leaving hints of hard red candy and the slightest touch of bitter cocoa. The Amarone of Prà is always so unique but in the best possible way. The 2016 is a total gem but needs cellaring to come fully into focus. (Eric Guido)
    JS9494 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Monday, July 4, 2022
A savory and complex expression of Amarone with some dried cherries, red dates, stewed herbs, orange peel, tobacco and white pepper. Some bold green peppercorn, too. A svelte delivery of Amarone with a medium body, showing tobacco, cedar and chocolate on the palate. Long, cedary finish. Drink or hold.
    SP9292 pts. - Wine Spectator - Nov 30, 2022
This elegant red is medium- to full-bodied, with creamy tannins providing a fine frame for flavors of brambly red currant and blackberry fruit, pine, orange peel and crushed pink peppercorn. A subtle, savory overtone of cured tobacco and smoky bacon fat echoes on the fresh finish. Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Oseleta. Drink now through 2030. 833 cases made, 250 cases imported. 3. Masi Costasera Amarone Classico

    2017 / 750 ml. | Item#56262

    WE9494 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 12/31/2022
The wine is quite reserved on the nose to start, but with a decant it opens up nicely. The wine has aromas of red-cherry preserve, ripe plum, clove, anise and cinnamon. The palate is elegant with notes of dried leaves, dark chocolate and dark cherries. The tannins are already well integrated, giving the wine a magnificent texture. Expect to enjoy this for a while Best from 2025–2035. (Jeff Porter)
    JS9494 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Wednesday, August 10, 2022
A really fresh and well-balanced Amarone here, with tapenade, ripe but fresh blackberries, chili chocolate and some red berries, too. This is tight and juicy, with a medium-to full-bodied palate and a long, fruity finish. A modern, fresh expression of Amarone that shows immense drinkability, but still pretty serious. Not super-concentrated, but shows restraint and balance. Drink or hold.
    VN9292 pts. - Vinous - Mar 2023
The 2017 Amarone Classico Costasera is intense, with masses of dried black cherries and mocha complicated by spiced citrus rinds and a dusting of cocoa. This is a total pleasure on the palate, seamlessly silky and elegant with a spicy core of red fruits. The 2017 tapers off with tremendous length, staining the palate in youthful concentration yet remaining completely fresh. (Eric Guido)

  4. Prá Otto Soave Classico

    2021 / 750 ml. | Item#58589

    JS9292 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Monday, July 4, 2022
Quite refreshing and mineral with lots of green and white fruit. Stony nectarine and green-apple aromas. Pure and fresh with a textured, medium-bodied palate, showing some mineral and limey fruit . Gastronomic and delicious. Drink now. Screw cap.
    VN9191 pts. - Vinous - Mar 2023
The 2021 Soave Classico Otto keeps me at the edge of the glass with its delicately floral bouquet. Sweet white flowers and spice hints complement lime and green apple notes. There’s a burst of green citrus intensity on the palate, along with depths of saline minerality. A balanced inner sweetness adds fantastic harmony throughout. The Otto finishes decidedly long and staining with traces of candied lime but also fresh with a reverberation of tension that keeps the mouth watering for more. This is a fantastic entry-level effort from Prà. (Eric Guido)

  5. San Leonardo

    2015 / 750 ml. | Item#53954

    RP97+97+ pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 18th Feb 2021
The 2015 San Leonardo pours forth with a beautiful velvety appearance and sultry dark garnet color. This wine shows a lot of life and dark fruit purity with black plum, blackberry, cassis and tarry prune. There is a delightful note of black pepper that is specific to this warm and sunny vintage. The fruit shows softer and richer concentration compared to past vintages and more pulpy density that gives this edition a bigger profile in terms of mouthfeel. Production is 75,000 bottles. San Leonardo is a wine made for long aging, but the nice thing about this vintage is that the bouquet remains quite accessible at this young age. Nevertheless, I’d still suggest keeping this bottle in your cellar so that it can calmly finish its evolution.
    VN9595 pts. - Vinous - Jul 2020
The 2015 San Leonardo is a classic in the making. The bouquet is wonderfully perfumed with peppery florals, mixing tart cherry and blueberry with white smoke, hints of graphite and shaved cedar. Silky textures race across a core of juicy acids and minerals, making for a ripe yet cool-toned and pleasurably tactile expression. Youthful tannins slowly make themselves known toward the close. Long, structured and spicy, the 2015 finishes with a crescendo of tart blue and black fruits, tapering off to notes of subtly sweet spice. As good as this is today, it will only get better over time. That said, it doesn’t appear that this is going to shut down anytime in the immediate future, so it’s certainly worth checking on a bottle or two before forgetting the rest in your cellar.

    VN8888 pts. - Vinous - May 2023
The 2022 Rosato Rondinella is delicate and slightly smoky in the glass. This washes across the palate with medium-weight, nearly creamy textures contrasted by zesty citrus and sour melon tones. It finishes with tension, yet a bit short, cleaning up nicely while a lemon oil hint fades. (Eric Guido)

  7. Gini Soave Classico

    2021 / 750 ml. | Item#58163

    VN9191 pts. - Vinous - Apr 2022
The 2021 Soave Classico is remarkably pretty with yellow flowers, wet stone and freshly sliced pear. This is mineral and focused upon entry, with perfumed orchard fruits and a salty flourish that returns toward the close. Pear and peach skins resonate, as this tapers off lightly structured with an almost-herbal tea-like quality. The Classico is a blend of some of the region’s top vineyards with an average vine age of 90 years. (Eric Guido)
    SP9191 pts. - Wine Spectator - Web only – 2023
A well-cut, minerally Soave, with a tropical edge of passion fruit and dried pineapple, a base note of petrol and aromas and flavors of poached apricot, orchard blossoms and grated ginger. Drink now through 2028. 9,000 cases made, 500 cases imported. (Alison Napjus)

  8. Bussola TB Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva

    2012 / 750 ml. | Item#60502

    VN9898 pts. - Vinous - Mar 2023
The 2012 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva TB takes things to a much darker, deeper and more savory place than nearly any wine in its category. Cloves and cinnamon combine with balsamic spice, molten chocolate and medicinal blackberries as this blossoms in the glass. It floods the palate with racy, silky textures and an intense burst of ultra-ripe red and black fruits offset by a bitter twang of sour citrus and cocoa. Tantalizing acidity barely maintains balance yet ultimately succeeds. Exotic spices and dried black cherries saturate and are framed by a coating of fine tannins that promises decades of further evolution. This is a powerhouse. (Eric Guido)
    JS9494 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Tuesday, September 6, 2022
This is a structured and solid Amarone, with dried fruits, sultanas, figs and iron. It’s full-bodied, yet compacted and tannic with a long and persistent finish. One for the cellar, but already impressive to drink. (James Suckling)
    SP9393 pts. - Wine Spectator - Apr 30, 2023
Both juicy and mouthwatering, this rich red shows a lot of personality, offering layered flavors of blackberry pie and raspberry ganache, hints of espresso and sweet smoke, plus fragrant juniper, eucalyptus, lavender and leather accents. Features firm, well-meshed tannins, with creamy edges that meld into the silky flavor range. Drink now through 2035. 668 cases made. (Alison Napjus)

  9. Dal Forno Romano Amarone della Valpolicella

    2008 / 750 ml. | Item#41866

    VN9898 pts. - Vinous - Mar 2014
The 2008 Amarone della Valpolicella is compelling. With a little air, the tannins begin to soften, releasing a myriad of intense dark aromas and flavors. Bittersweet chocolate, cloves, violets, plums and blackberry jam cover every inch of the palate in a stunning, headspinning Amarone that captures all of the best qualities of the year. When Romano Dal Forno’s wines are on, there is nothing quite like them, and that is certainly the case here. If opened young, the 2008 needs a little air. Actually, a lot of air.
    RP9595 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Oct 2013
To be released in early 2014, the 2008 Amarone della Valpolicella (with fruit sourced from the high density Monte Lodoletta vineyard) opens with immense darkness and the kind of midnight impenetrability you never see on any color wheel for fine wine. Its off the charts appearance is followed by similarly unique aromatic intensity and versatility that spans from blackberry syrup and candied prune to chewing tobacco, black peppercorn and rain-soaked asphalt. This is but a baby that will require loads of time in your cellar before it enters its prime drinking window. Because Dal Forno did not make Amarone in 2007, the wait will seem that much longer. Having said that, this wine is very different from the 2006 Amarone despite the fact 2006 and 2008 were relatively similar cool vintages overall. I distinctly remember the impossible tightness and astringency of the tannins in 2006 when tasted at the same young stage in the wine’s life. The 2008 Amarone, on the other hand, is much softer and a tad more approachable in contrast. Ultimately, this wine promises a graceful, steady and long evolution. Drink: 2017–2035.
    SP9494 pts. - Wine Spectator - Feb 28, 2015
Game and ashy smoke details lead the way in this ripe red, followed by juicy plumped cherry, date, dark chocolate and woodsy spice notes on the plush-textured palate. Velvety tannins give this some brawn, but this is beautifully knit and balanced, showing an overall sense of finesse. Delivers a lasting finish of fruit and spice. Drink now through 2033. 1,800 cases made.

  10. Dal Forno Romano Amarone della Valpolicella

    Monte Lodoletta
    2015 / 750 ml. | Item#58308

    VN9898 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2022
The 2015 Amarone della Valpolicella Monte Lodeoletta is deep and rich in the glass, slowly opening with autumnal spices, crushed violets, cocoa and custard. While dark and inward on the nose, it’s wonderfully open and finessed on the palate, with a pure mix of red berries and savory spices under an air of rosy inner florals. Through it all, tension builds as tannins saturate, leaving the palate drenched in primary concentration. The 2015 is incredibly long and in need of many years in the cellar to fully evolve. The balance of ripeness, structure and acid here creates a totally harmonious and classic expression. Do not pass up on this sleeping giant of an Amarone. In 2015, production was down by 45% due to hail, and the final wine finished at only one gram of residual sugar per liter.
    RP9797 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 16th Dec 2021
The ultimate statement wine from northern Italy is the 2015 Amarone della Valpolicella Monte Lodoletta. The Dal Forno family skipped over the 2014 vintage, and this sunny vintage is worth the wait. Monte Lodoletta is always incredibly high in terms of fruit weight and tannins, but this edition from 2015 appears more integrated in terms of concentration and softer in terms of structure; it’s not that the wine is more accessible. It will hold the line for years and decades to come and promises to age gracefully. This vintage is instead more fleshed out and open-knit. The bouquet peels back with thick layers of black fruit, spice, campfire embers and toasted coffee bean. It’s an expensive bottle for collectors, but you get lots of bang for your buck. (Monica Larner)
    SP9696 pts. - Wine Spectator - Jun 30, 2022
A rich red, with good tension and energy, displaying tightly meshed flavors of blackberry preserves, fig cake, espresso crema and singed sage coiled around a core of dense but fine tannins. Tea leaf, smoky earth and mineral notes chime on the long and chewy finish. Corvina, Rondinella, Oseleta and Croatina. Best from 2025 through 2045. 1,350 cases made, 250 cases imported.

  11. Quintarelli Giuseppe Alzero Cabernet

    2009 / 750 ml. | Item#52509

    VN9696 pts. - Vinous - Feb 2021
The 2009 Alzero Cabernet is a knockout, showing a captivating display of sour cherries, licorice and mint offset by mocha and hints of tobacco. This is elegance personified, as a velvety wave of sweet red and black fruits is further complemented by confectionary spices and contrasting notes of espresso and cacao. There is so much energy to be found within the 2009. It bristles with residual acids, minerals and sour citrus through the finale, while still showing a gorgeous inner sweetness through a note of ripe plums under an air of violets and lavender. This is so easy to like today that it’s hard to recommend waiting. However, there’s much more to be seen over time, and patience will be rewarded. The Alzero Cabernet is a blend of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Cabernet Franc and 20% Merlot dried prior to vinification through appassimento.

  12. Quintarelli Giuseppe Alzero Cabernet

    2011 / 750 ml. | Item#54520

    VN9494 pts. - Vinous - Feb 2021
The 2011 Alzero Cabernet is a bit backward today, displaying mocha-infused black and red currants offset by hints of sour citrus and animal musk, plus a dusty floral and incense component that is not quite ready to come into the foreground. It’s velvety in feel yet medium in body, showing tart wild berries and exotic inner spices, all framed by a core of vibrant acidity. For all of its primary intensity, the 2011 maintains balance, leaving a glycerol-like coating of tart cherry and blackberry under an air of tobacco and sweet herbs. There’s a lot of immediate pleasure to be found within the 2011, but it should also excel over medium-term cellaring. With grapes dried through appassimento, the Alzero is a blend of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Cabernet Franc and 20% Merlot.

  13. Quintarelli Giuseppe Recioto della Valpolicella Classico

    A Roberto
    2007 / 375 ml. | Item#56081

    RP9898 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Aug 2019
This wine is dedicated to Roberto Ferrarini, the longtime consulting enologist who worked with Giuseppe Quintarelli and the Quintarelli family until his death in 2014. The beautiful 2007 Recioto della Valpolicella Classico A Roberto (packaged in a 375-millliter bottle) is a stunning and magical creation. The last vintage this estate made a Recioto was in 2004, and at the time of this tasting, there was no future vintage earmarked to follow this bottling. Those of you lucky enough to taste this bottle will be rewarded with carefully crafted aromas of plum and raisin with sweet baking spice, moist earth, campfire ash, fresh espresso and a touch of bitter chocolate. This wine was bottled in 2017 and therefore saw ten years of aging in a normal-sized barrique. The wine shows utter silkiness in terms of texture and is surprising light on its feet despite its 15.5% alcohol. This is a precious collectors’ bottle.
    VN9595 pts. - Vinous - Feb 2021
The 2007 Recioto della Valpolicella Classico A Roberto coats the glass with glycerol-like richness while displaying dusty dried flowers, incense, cloves, pine resin, quince and a lifting hint of camphor. It’s silky in texture yet enlivened by bright acidity, as ripe red fruits give way to hints of grilled orange, exotic brown spices and cocoa. While this is certainly sweet, clocking in at 65 grams per liter of residual sugar, it’s also wonderfully balanced and vibrant from start to finish, tapering off remarkably fresh and perfumed with a bitter twang of coffee and dark chocolate. The 2007 is a thrill-ride rendition of Quintarelli Recioto, which may not last through long-term cellaring, but it will wow collectors over the next 10 to 15 years. The Recioto A Roberto is the only wine in the portfolio that undergoes spontaneous fermentation, and it is also matured completely in small oak barrels. As this was the favorite wine and passion project of Roberto Ferrarini, Giuseppe Quintarelli’s enologist who passed in 2014, the family decided to dedicate the 2007 in his honor.

  14. Quintarelli Giuseppe Rosso del Bepi

    2014 / 750 ml. | Item#60091

    VN9393 pts. - Vinous - Apr 2022
The 2014 Rosso del Bepi is understated yet very pretty, showing nuances of woodland berries laced with sour citrus, savory herbs and a hint of animal muskiness. This washes across the palate with silken textures, yet delivers masses of tart red berries and minerals that add grippy tension. It’s remarkably fresh and zesty in character, and it’s amazing to think that the 2014 underwent the same appassimento that an Amarone did in better years. This tapers off spicy with a sour citrus twang under inner violet florals, as round tannins linger. The 2014 may not have the depth of a Quintarelli Amarone, but it instead possesses verve and is packed full of character. (Eric Guido)

    VN9494 pts. - Vinous - Mar 2023
More like a spiced herbal tea than wine, the 2018 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico wafts up with exotic spices, sweet herbs, cedar shavings and dried black cherries. It washes across the palate with silky textures, taking on a more tactile feel as masses of intense wild berry fruits saturate. Notes of mocha and rum-soak black currant are left lingering as the 2018 finishes lightly structured and buzzing with residual tension. This young Amarone is geared up for a long and steady evolution. Nicely done. (Eric Guido)
