It has a well-defined, flor-like bouquet offering brioche, grilled walnut, bales of straw and smoke. The fabulous palate presents a sensual honeyed texture effortlessly counterbalanced by acidity. VN8888 pts. - Vinous - Aug 2018 The Heirloom Cinsault is whole-cluster-fermented. It has a lovely pimiento and white pepper bouquet that springs out of the glass. The palate is vibrant on the entry — in fact, Chris mentioned there was a bit of CO2 in the bottle when the screwcap was put on, so you might notice a bit of fizz, though there is no refermenting! Cranberry and crushed strawberry make a fun Cinsault that should be consumed over the next couple of years.

It has an attractive nose with yellow fruit and pressed flowers, though you could argue there is less in the way of varietal typicity. The palate is well balanced with a slightly honeyed texture, almond and vanillary notes, slight oxidative notes lending complexity on the finish. Very fine. (Neal Martin)

Medium to full-bodied and sporting 13.5% alcohol on the label, the wine has a succulent palate with dark cherry flavors, followed by bright acidity that drives through the mid-palate with fine-grained tannins. The finish is fresh and picturesque, with lingering notes of just-ripe plum and soft oak tones. This delightful wine was aged for 18 months in French oak barrels. Give it a try.
