VN9292 pts. - Vinous - Jul 2022 Light, vivid orange. Mineral-accented citrus pith, red berry and succulent floral and herb scents, along with a spicy topnote. Chewy and sharply focused in the mouth, offering well-concentrated strawberry, bitter cherry, blood orange, honeysuckle and smoky mineral qualities and a deeper suggestion of nectarine. Densely packed, with the mineral and floral notes carrying through a long, precise finish. (Josh Raynolds)SP9292 pts. - Wine Spectator - Web only – 2022 A gorgeous, complex rosé, rippling with flavors of cherry, blood orange, spice, potpourri and currant. Ripe, densely packed and creamy, this stays elegant, with impressive harmony and a lovely salted almond note on the long finish. Mourvèdre and Cinsault. Drink now through 2025. 1,500 cases made, 400 cases imported. (Bruce Sanderson)
VN9393 pts. - Vinous - Jul 2022 Limpid orange. A sharply focused, mineral-accented bouquet evokes fresh red berries and pit fruits, citrus pith and pungent flowers. Silky and penetrating on the palate, offering tangy redcurrant, pomegranate and blood orange flavors and a hint of honeysuckle. The floral note builds steadily through an impressively long, nervy finish that echoes the citrus and mineral notes. (Josh Raynolds)RP9191 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 11th Aug 2022 Call it a down year if you must, but the 2021 Cotes de Provence Rose Chateau de Selle remains one of the region’s top wines. Scents of tangerine, peach, crushed stone and lime zest mark the nose, while the medium-bodied palate is plump and juicy, finishing long and layered. The assemblage this year is 55% Grenache, 30% Cinsault, 10% Mourvèdre and 5% Syrah. (Joe Czerwinski)
VN9494 pts. - Vinous - Jul 2022 Vivid onion skin color. A highly perfumed and complex bouquet evokes fresh citrus and pit fruits, strawberry and pungent flowers, along with building mineral and succulent herb elements. Shows excellent clarity and depth to its juicy red fruit, nectarine and mango flavors, which are sweetened by a background of vanilla note. Finishes impressively long and silky, with the mineral and floral note resonating. (Josh Raynolds)WS9393 pts. - Wine & Spirits - 06/22 In 2021, Peyrassol credits the microclimate at their estate for the late budbreak that evaded late-April frosts, also escaping a fire (merci, le mistral), a hailstorm in nearby Pignan (blocked by hills) and flooding. More than a vintage survivor, this wine is chewy and immediately pleasurable; it captured our panel’s attention in the sweetness of its fruit. Its substantial weight would work well with a range of dishes, or stand as a meal on its own, letting it saturate your mouth, cherry-blossom accents peeking out around the edges of the finish. Its complexity is subtle but present, like a carefully-measured craft cocktail.SP8989 pts. - Wine Spectator - Web only – 2022 A brisk, fresh style, with rose water, cherry pit, talc and watermelon rind showing nice detail through the finish. Cinsault, Grenache and Tibouren. Drink now. 750 cases made, 150 cases imported. (James Molesworth)
