RP9292 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Apr 2020 Disgorged in May 2019, the 2013 Brut Premier Cru Empreinte is showing well, opening in the glass with notes of citrus oil, crisp yellow orchard fruit, clear honey and wet stones. On the palate, it’s medium to full-bodied, tensile and incisive, with an inviting core of fruit, ripe but racy acids and a long, saline finish. This is a beautifully elegant, classically balanced Champagne from Geoffroy that bears the stamp of the late, cool growing season.
WE9090 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 12/1/2018 Made from 93% Pinot Noir and 7% Pinot Meunier, this is a lovely sparkling wine, rounded and layered with moderate acidity. The flavors dance around aspects of wild strawberry, raspberry and melon, with a lasting tease of hazelnut.SP8888 pts. - Wine Spectator - Web only – 2018 Fresh and lively, with appealing lemon and strawberry flavors that finish on a steely note. Drink now. 50,000 cases made.

VN9494 pts. - Vinous - Feb 2022 I am so pleased that the 2019 Carbonnieux has retained the engaging aromatics that I found from the barrel sample: copious blackberry, raspberry, incense and light violet aromas soar from the glass. The palate is very well balanced with fine-grained tannins, and much more precise than recent vintages, leading to a harmonious, silky-smooth, almost tender finish. More polished than recent vintages, this Carbonnieux comes highly recommended. (Neal Martin)JD9494 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 4/11/2022 The 2019 Château Carbonnieux sports a deep purple/ruby hue to go with a brilliant nose of red and black currants, spring flowers, spicy oak, and hints of tobacco. It’s beautiful on the palate as well and is medium to full-bodied, has a seamless, elegant texture, ripe tannins, and a great finish. It’s the finest wine I’ve tasted from this estate. The blend is 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, and the balance Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, all brought up in 40% new barrels. It’s well worth tracking down some bottles and will keep for two decades. (Jeb Dunnuck)
WE9393 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 7/1/2022 From a large, 113-acre estate, this wine is dense, structured and full of dark coffee and spice flavors allied to rich tannins. Blackberry fruits shine through this texture promising aging. Drink from 2026. (Roger Voss)VN92+92+ pts. - Vinous - Dec 2021 The 2019 Lilian Ladouys has gained a little more refinement since I tasted it in barrel, the black fruit now dominant and interlaced with tobacco and pencil box scents, less Margaux-like than previously. The palate is medium-bodied with firm, slightly powdery tannins. Classic in style, with that touch of brine on the finish. I admire the way it lingers in the mouth. Afford this 3–5 years in bottle. (Neal Martin)JD9191 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 4/11/2022 This château continues to bring the goods, and their 2019 Château Lilian Ladouys offers a medium-bodied, supple, elegant, and certainly delicious style as well as complex notes of redcurrants, darker mulberries, cedary spice, and dried herbs. It shows the elegant, more mid-weight side to the vintage, yet the balance is spot on, it has ripe tannins, and it’s going to keep for 15+ years. (Jeb Dunnuck)RP9090 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 7th Apr 2022 Offering up aromas of sweet berries, cherries, licorice and spices, the 2019 Lilian Ladouys is medium to full-bodied, ample and charming, with a giving, easygoing profile and a clean, precise finish. It’s a competent effort that shows none of the appellation’s stereotypically hard edges. (William Kelley)
WE9595 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 9/1/2021 Straw-colored with gold reflections, this wine offers aromas of apricot, peach and pear. In the mouth, flavors include honeycomb, Bartlett pear and canned peaches. It finishes with sweetness that is balanced by the ample acidity.RP9090 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 28th Oct 2016 Tasted at the Disznóko vertical in London, the 2012 Tokaji Aszu 5 Puttonyos is 100% Furmint in terms of Aszu grapes. It has a more complex bouquet than the 2013 with dried honey, grilled walnut, lanolin and yellow flowers, the kind of nose that seduces you, draws you in. The palate is medium-bodied with a viscous opening, spicier than the 2013, although it does not quite deliver the same level of concentration and intensity. It gently fans out towards the finish, although I would like a little more depth to develop, so that there is more presence. Tasted September 2016.
RP9898 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 1st Oct 2004 The light amber-hued, unctuously-textured non-vintage The Tokay reveals a similar flavor profile to the Muscat, with perhaps more balsamic, maple syrup, and Asian spice-like characteristics. It is quite spectacular, and very sweet.SP9191 pts. - Wine Spectator - Web only – 2005 Sweet, but it stops short of syrupy, with a lovely caramel and brewed tea quality that lingers, along with a touch of pineapple and floral notes. Drink now.
VN9292 pts. - Vinous - Dec 2019 Medium ruby-red. Aromas of blackcurrant, dark raspberry, espresso, bitter chocolate and graphite. Silky and plush but also vinous on entry, then densely packed, seamless and deep in the middle, with savory red and blacker fruit flavors complicated by subtle brown spices and minerals. Conveys excellent inner-mouth peppery lift and vinosity without coming across as green. This wine struck me as quite similar to its 2015 predecessor, suggesting that owner/winemaker Greg Harrington was especially successful in avoiding obvious signs of the very hot 2015 growing season. This savory, classically dry, energetic Cabernet Sauvignon finishes with firm, suave tannins and slowly mounting persistence.
WS9494 pts. - Wine & Spirits - 10/21 When Mike Grgich made the 1973 Chateau Montelena Chardonnay—the white wine that won the Paris Tasting—he used fruit from the Bacigalupi Vineyard in the Russian River Valley. He soon moved into a partnership with Austin Hills, assembling an organically farmed estate that includes 88 acres in Carneros and 163 in American Canyon, the cool, southern districts of the Napa Valley where this chardonnay grows. Now, at 98, Grgich leaves winegrowing to his nephew, Ivo Jeramaz, who produced this complex and compelling wine. Put aside any preconceptions you might have about contemporary Napa Valley chardonnay; consider instead an agriculture that might include native corn (one taster cited the ethereal sweetness of nixtamalized corn) and stone-fruit orchards (a scent of apricots). There’s the smokiness of ancho chile and a scent of woodland mushrooms in the wine’s dark-toned leesiness. Then the layers of flavor last, harmonious and delicious.JS9191 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Thursday, November 4, 2021 Mangoes, papayas, cooked lemons, ripe melons, gun smoke and salted caramel on the nose. Full-bodied, ripe and rich yet bright. Smoky, toasty notes to close. From organically grown grapes. Drink now.
SP9090 pts. - Wine Spectator - Apr 30, 2007 A delicate, well-balanced Prosecco, showing a good blend of baked apple, sour lemon and grapefruit, with a lightly creamy mineral texture on the palate. Medium froth, with some body and a pleasant lemon and mineral finish. Drink now.BD8989 pts. - Beverage Dynamics - May/Jun 2011 Fresh citrus with hints of honey and white flowers on the nose; soft, light and delicate; delicious.WS8888 pts. - Wine & Spirits - August 1, 2013 Scents of dried grasses and sweet apples carry through this Prosecco. It lasts on nutty flavors, pleasantly balanced for sipping on the beach.WE8787 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 8/1/2012 Widely available, this easy Prosecco offers fresh aromas of citrus, stone fruit and honey. It’s elegantly packaged with a light blue label that would look gorgeous at a lunchtime table set by the pool.

VN9393 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2023 The 2020 Malbec is a blend of grapes from Drummond and Perdriel, Luján de Cuyo. The vines date back to 1926. Aged for 12 months in one-third new barrels. Purple in the glass. The nose offers intense aromas of violet, fresh plum, gentle woody notes and hints of spice. Plush, broad and agile with refined, polished tannins. The texture is a combination of silk and velvet. Well-made, given the year. (Joaquín Hidalgo)JS9393 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Tuesday, May 3, 2022 A perfumed red with notes of fresh wild berries, just-picked violets, sweet spices and cocoa-dusted walnuts. Medium-to full-bodied with layers of plush, polished tannins and a lingering, silky mouth-feel. Velvety and seamless with delicious blue-fruit and blue-flower character. Drink or hold.RP9292 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Nov 2022 The estate 2020 Malbec was produced with grapes from their property in Mayor Drummond (Finca Mendel) that was planted in 1928. It fermented in stainless steel and matured in French oak barrels, one-third each new, second and third use, for 12 months. It has 14.5% alcohol and a soft and round palate with integrated acidity. De la Mota thinks this 2020 is very representative of the zone of Luján even if they harvest it a little earlier, and it has a little more fresh fruit, using the oak to keep that character, a balance between ripe and fresh fruit that is very interesting. It is juicy and primary with very fine tannins. A wine that overdelivers for the price. 88,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in November 2021. (Luis Gutiérrez)WE9090 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 4/1/2023 The grapes for this red are sourced from a vineyard planted in 1928 in Luján de Cuyo. It exhibits a dense and fruit-forward bouquet. The palate offers ripe plum, blueberry and rosemary, all intertwined. Moderate acidity and supple tannins provide support. It finishes with subtle coffee notes. (Jesica Vargas)
