    WE9393 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 5/1/2022
This violet-scented Pinot Noir is marked by plump, mouth-drenching black-cherry and plum flavors edged by licks of sweet spice and vanilla. Framed by fine, glossy tannins and a juicy spine of acidity, this immediately welcoming wine is particularly joyous young but will likely hold well through 2027. (Anna Lee C. Iijima)

    WE9393 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 5/1/2022
Salty, mineral freshness extends from nose to finish in this ripe, broad-shouldered wine. Red-cherry and plum flavors are fleshy and concentrated on the palate, lifted by a tang of cranberry acidity and a pleasantly leafy, herbal finish. Soft in tannins and kissed with sweet spice, the wine is ready now but will likely to hold through 2029. (Anna Lee C. Iijima)

Pale apricot color with aromas of pomegranates, grapefruit, rosemary, lavender and peaches. Fresh and delicate, yet fragrant and flavorful, with a medium body and bright acidity. Lovely fresh pink fruit. Drink and enjoy. (James Suckling)
    SP8888 pts. - Wine Spectator - Aug 31, 2023

    2018 / 750 ml. | Item#57424

    VN9393 pts. - Vinous - Oct 2021
Deep, shimmering ruby. Powerful red and dark berry scents are complemented by exotic spice, garrigue and floral nuances. Sappy and densely packed, offering juicy raspberry, cherry preserve, licorice and fruitcake flavors underscored by a vein of juicy acidity. Gently chewy tannins build steadily on an impressively long, penetrating finish that leaves behind lavender and juicy cherry notes.
    SP9393 pts. - Wine Spectator - Feb 28, 2022
Dark and winey, with waves of ganache, steeped plum, blackberry reduction and melted black licorice rolling through. The finish is scored with warm earth and smoldering tobacco notes, showing ample grip for the cellar. Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Counoise, Muscardin, Vaccarèse and Cinsault. Best from 2023 through 2036. 18,300 cases made, 1,500 cases imported.
    JD9393 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 10/6/2020
The base wine, the 2018 Châteauneuf Du Pape has a healthy ruby/purple color to go with its classic Southern Rhône notes of ripe red and black fruits, lots of earthy garrigue, some ground pepper, and a touch of minerality. All this carries over to the palate, where the wine is medium to full-bodied and beautifully balanced, with a great mid-palate and sweet tannins. It certainly shows the upfront, charming style of the vintage, but I love its mid-palate, it’s beautifully balanced, and is just a seriously classy wine from this estate, which deserves more recognition today. Enjoy bottles any time over the coming 15 years or more. (Jeb Dunnuck)

    RP91+91–93 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 20th May 2021
The 2020 Olivier Blanc sings of fresh Bosc pears, yellow apples and waxed lemons, plus hints of wet slate and fennel seed. The medium-bodied palate is clean, crisp and wonderfully refreshing, offering bags of citrus and apple-inspired flavors with a spicy kick on the finish. (Lisa Perrotti-Brown)

  13. Château Prieuré-Lichine Margaux

    2019 / 750 ml. | Item#58005

    VN9595 pts. - Vinous - Feb 2022
The 2019 Prieuré-Lichine is impeccable. Creamy, layered and resonant in the glass, the 2019 hits all the right notes. Sweet red cherry/plum, lavender, rose petal, spice, mint and blood orange all build effortlessly. Over the last handful of years Prieuré-Lichine has been the singe most under the radar wine in Margaux. The 2019 is another fine edition. Class, polish and sensuality make Prieuré-Lichine absolutely irresistible.
    JS9595 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Sunday, February 20, 2022
Wonderful aromas of dried orange, blackcurrant and crushed stone follow through to a full body with beautifully polished tannins that are composed and fine. Lots of subtle and complex character on the finish. Extremely well done here. Drink after 2025.
    RP9393 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 7th Apr 2022
The 2019 Prieuré-Lichine is supple and generous, bursting with aromas of blackberries, currants, licorice, spices and creamy new oak. Medium to full-bodied, broad and fleshy, it’s round and enveloping, with ripe acids and a rich, seamless profile. This is showing well out of the gates. This heavily morcellated estate (amounting to some 125 different parcels) is clearly benefitting from a more rigorous selection and better attention to detail regarding harvest dates.
    SP9292 pts. - Wine Spectator - Mar 31, 2022
Presents lush plum and blackberry preserve flavors that gush through, flanked by a twinge of singed sandalwood to give it form. The finish is dotted by dark licorice, ganache and earth accents. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Drink now through 2034. 18,000 cases made.
    JD9292 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 4/11/2022
Readers looking for a complex, nuanced Margaux should check out the 2019 Château Prieuré-Lichine. Giving up a beautiful floral bouquet that includes red and blue fruits, sappy herbs, and flowery incense, it hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, plenty of mid-palate depth and sweet tannins, and a great finish. This complex, layered Margaux needs just 2–4 years of bottle age and should see its 20th birthday in fine form. (Jeb Dunnuck)

  14. Gilbert Picq & ses Fils Chablis Dessus La Carrière

    2021 / 750 ml. | Item#60372

    VN9393 pts. - Vinous - Sep 2022
The 2021 Chablis Au Dessus des Carrières comes from two parcels planted mainly in the seventies. Vibrant again on the nose, this offers enticing scents of yellow plum, flint and subtle petrichor scents that unfurl in the glass. The palate is well balanced with fine depth, perhaps a little more linear than the Vieilles Vignes with a very focused finish. Excellent. Chablis like a Swiss watch! (Neal Martin)

  15. Jean-Marc Brocard Chablis Premier Cru Vau de Vey

    2020 / 750 ml. | Item#59789

    WE9393 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 3/1/2022
Initially reductive notes of scorched earth and smoke in this wine dissipate with aeration, revealing pristine yellow apple and Mirabelle. Edged by a crush of oyster shells and salty mineral tones, this invigorating sip finishes on a whisper of white pepper. The wine is just starting to open now but should drink well through 2030. (Anna Lee C. Iijima)
    VN9292 pts. - Vinous - Sep 2022
The 2020 Chablis Vau de Vey 1er Cru has an attractive bouquet with wild peach, light quince and flinty aromas, quite complex though I would not describe it as “intense”. The palate is very well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, harmonious, quite sappy towards the finish with decent length. Perhaps like the Butteaux, I would have liked a little more tension on the finish, but it should still give 8–10 years’ drinking pleasure. Tasted blind at the BIVB tasting in Chablis. (Neal Martin)
