Light, vivid orange. Mineral-accented citrus pith, red berry and succulent floral and herb scents, along with a spicy topnote. Chewy and sharply focused in the mouth, offering well-concentrated strawberry, bitter cherry, blood orange, honeysuckle and smoky mineral qualities and a deeper suggestion of nectarine. Densely packed, with the mineral and floral notes carrying through a long, precise finish. (Josh Raynolds)
    SP9292 pts. - Wine Spectator - Web only – 2022

Ripe, densely packed and creamy, this stays elegant, with impressive harmony and a lovely salted almond note on the long finish. Mourvèdre and Cinsault. Drink now through 2025. 1,500 cases made, 400 cases imported. (Bruce Sanderson)

Limpid orange-pink. Incisive, mineral-tinged aromas of fresh red berries, nectarine and citrus zest are complemented by steadily building floral and succulent herb notes. Silky and energetic on the palate, offering concentrated white peach, strawberry and tangerine flavors that show fine delineation and firm tension. Deepens steadily on a long, mineral-driven finish that leaves a repeating floral note behind. (Josh Raynolds)

  5. Casa Castillo Vino de Finca

    2018 / 750 ml. | Item#53972

    RP9393 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 10th Sep 2020
The 2018 Vino de Finca is a blend of Monastrell with 25% Garnacha from a cooler, more continental vintage. The Monastrell is from 20- to 30-year-old vines, and the 8-year-old Garnacha is from limestone-rich soils. It fermented in the underground stone pools with 25% to 30% full clusters and indigenous yeasts and matured in 5,000-liter foudres and 500-liter barrels for 12 months. As all the Garnacha plots are now in production, there has been a higher percentage of it in the blend since 2017. The selection of plots used for this wine results in something more serious, more austere and with more depth than the entry-level Casa Castillo. He doesn’t use Syrah in this blend because he thinks without Syrah it has a more Mediterranean profile, with aromatic herbs, thyme, rosemary and lavender and the slightly more rustic notes of the Monastrell. 53,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in December 2019. (Luis Gutiérrez)

  6. Carlisle Radiant Ridge Vineyard Mourvèdre

    2019 / 750 ml. | Item#59050

    JD9494 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 8/2/2022
Savory with dried herbs and pine, the 2019 Mouvèdre Radiant Ridge Vineyard is introspective, with black fruit and freshly turned soil, while the palate is stony and mineral. It is full, but surprisingly more focused than the aromatics might suggest. Much more restrained and with a gorgeous texture, this is an incredible expression that is worth seeking out and drinking over the next 15 years. (Audrey Frick)
    VN9393 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2022
The 2019 Mourvèdre Radiant Ridge Vineyard is super-expressive right out of the gate. Inky blue/purplish fruit, lavender, spice, menthol and licorice are front and center. Dried herbs and a kick of black pepper add an exotic flair to the finish. This mid-weight, fleshy Mourvèdre is a real charmer. Best of all, it should drink well with minimal cellaring. The Mourvèdre is one of the highlights in this range from Mike Officer and Carlisle. (Antonio Galloni)

A blend of 60% Mourvèdre, 20% Grenache and 20% Cinsault, the 2022 Bandol Rose exhales aromas of red berries, spices, pomegranate, licorice, jasmine and iodine. Tense, juicy, medium-bodied and elegant, it’s long and fresh with a touch of spritzy residual carbon dioxide. RP9191 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 11th Aug 2022
Just nicely proportioned and harmonious all around, Suffrene’s 2021 Bandol Rose is a slightly coppery flamingo-pink in hue. Juicy, mouthwatering flavors of citrus, pineapple and underripe peach finish silky-smooth, clean and refreshing. Balanced and long, this is a fine effort. (Joe Czerwinski)

  9. Domaine La Tour Vieille Collioure Puig Ambeille

    2017 / 750 ml. | Item#53279

    RP9090 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Apr 2019
Mainly Mourvèdre, the 2017 Collioure Puig Ambeille also includes 25% Grenache and 5% Syrah. Notes of cola-like spice and Mediterranean herbs lead the way, backed by ample amounts of dark berry fruit. Medium to full-bodied, it’s a nicely complex and balanced red from a region that can sometimes yield wines that are too big and clumsy.
