RP89+89–91 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Dec 2015 The 2014 Savigny les Beaune 1Er Cru Clos des Guettes has more roundness on the nose than Jadot’s other 2014 Savignys — a little more plumpness with strawberry and Morello scents developing. The palate is fleshy on the entry with good weight, a fine line of acidity, fine tannin, very focused with a tensile, quite minerally finish that is very satisfying. This comes highly recommended.VN87+87–88 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2016 Healthy bright red. Sexy aromas of ripe cherry, raspberry, spices and underbrush. On the palate, the red berry and menthol flavors show a distinct soil-driven salinity and good texture. More tannic than the Savigny-lès-Beaune Les Lavières but has good supporting stuffing.
VN92+92+ pts. - Vinous - Feb 2016 The 2014 Carlisle Vineyard is one of the more structured, driving wines in the lineup. Today, my impression is of a tightly wound, powerful red that is going to need time to come together. Sweet red cherry, pomegranate, spice and mint are all pushed forward, but the 2014 needs time. The only question is how much. This is a distinctly red fruit-toned version of the Carlisle.RP9292 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 29th Oct 2015 From Mike Officer’s home vineyard, the 2014 Zinfandel Carlisle Vineyard (planted in 1927) tips the scales at a whopping 14.9% alcohol, but hides it beneath a cascade of beautiful briary, raspberry, black cherry and blackcurrant fruit. It’s full-bodied, deliciously pure, ripe and a total hedonistic turn-on. Drink it over the next 5–6 years.
VN93+93+ pts. - Vinous - Dec 2016 Deep ruby-red. Deep, reticent aromas of blood orange, red currant and gunflint; aroma-wise, this is very different from the Moganazzi and the San Lorenzo. Then very herbal and floral, offering subdued red cherry fruit and pomegranate flavors. Finishes long and with mouth-coating but noble tannins that will need plenty of cellaring. This wine actually reminded me a lot of Tenuta delle Terre Nere’s Guardiola bottling.
