JS9090 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Sunday, December 5, 2021 Aromas of blackcurrants, blackberries, dark cherries, olives, licorice and dried thyme. Medium body with fine tannins. Juicy and savory. Drink after 2022.
VN9292 pts. - Vinous - May 2021 The 2019 Pinot Noir Marques de Casa Concha from the San Julián vineyard in Limarí, 15 miles from the sea, planted in alluvial red clay soil, spent 11 months in French oak barrels. A medium-hued red, it offers crystal-clear aromas of sour cherry and earth and a bare-bones palate with a fine, silky texture and a slightly saline flavor.RP9191 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 31st Aug 2021 The 2019 Marques de Casa Concha Pinot Noir was produced with fruit from vines planted in Limarí between 2006 and 2009. It’s ripe but has kept very good acidity and comes through as balanced and fresh while it’s also powerful. The oak feels more and more integrated, as the wine matured in French oak barrels, 15% of them new, for 11 months. 54,000 bottles were filled in April 2020.WE8888 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 4/1/2022 Piquant red-fruit aromas of cranberry, currant and raspberry include a note of iodine and a hint of dried meat. This is a lively style of Pinot that’s medium in weight. Spicy oak notes accent plum and raspberry flavors in front of a finish propelled by healthy acidity. (Michael Schachner)
WE9292 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 12/1/2022 This intense, inky, extra-ripe wine takes concentration to the next level. It is saturated with dried plum, black raisin and blackberry jam flavors on a tannic but still smooth texture, and drinks almost like a Port. Best from 2028. (Jim Gordon)
RP9090 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 27th Apr 2016 The 2015 Estate White is an unoaked blend of 80% Muscat of Spina and 20% Vidiano. Dry, it comes in at just 12% alcohol. This has all that Muscat personality and a somewhat herbaceous nuance. A perfect summer white, it is fresh, friendly and crisp, with tons of flavor on the nice finish. This doesn’t have quite the roundness or depth of the "Skipper" white, also reviewed, but it has far more zest and character. They both do what they should rather well. This is a nice bargain if, of course, you like wines with some of that grass and zing. It should hold for a couple of years, at least, but the freshness here is a key selling point that you won’t likely want to lose. Drink it young for best results; it may not stay at peak for all of its useful life.WE8888 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 11/1/2016 This innovative Cretan producer hits the mark with this pretty, fragrant white blend including the island’s hallmark white, Vidiano. The nose is full of flowers, white peach fruit and rip citrus, while on the palate, an interplay of exotic fruit and minerality keep the wine focused but friendly. A great wine for spicy Indian cuisine or sushi.
JS9191 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Monday, August 8, 2022 Peaches, apricots, lemon curd, lychees and melons on the nose. Fruity and fresh with a medium body. Some delicious tropical-fruit character with a zesty finish. Drink now.
JS9191 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Wednesday, August 17, 2022 Aromas of baked plum, black cherry and black tea. Medium-to full-bodied with chalky tannins. Pleasantly ripe and juicy on the palate. Nice balance here, with a tasty finish. From organically grown grapes. Drink now.
JS9292 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Thursday, October 14, 2021 Pretty nose of dried violets, wild raspberries, brambleberries, potpourri, cloves and pine needles. Medium-bodied with powdery tannins and a creamy texture. Nice, bitter floral and spice notes. Drink or hold.
RP9191 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 29th Jun 2005 Alvear produces a non-vintage Cream, which is essentially a sweeter style of Oloroso. Its dark amber color is accompanied by sweet, nutty, milkshake-like aromas, tremendous precision as well as intensity, and a marvelous finish.
ST9191 pts. - Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar - Jul/Aug 2007 Very pale yellow straw color. Spicy, assertive aromas of green apple, flowers, mint, and fresh herbs. Juicy, lively and light on its feet, with subtle freshness in a rather ethereal style. Complex and refined. From all locally grown rice.

RP9090 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 31st Mar 2021 I love the ultra young and fleshy 2020 Malbec that in reality contains 10% Tannat and 5% Petit Verdot. It’s ripe without excess and was bottled after one-fourth of the volume spent eight months in oak barrels. So, the effect of the oak is not noticeable in the aromas or flavors, and the wine comes through as fruit-driven and juicy while still keeping the varietal profile. They produced no less than 720,000 bottles of this wine. It was bottled in September 2020.SP8888 pts. - Wine Spectator - Web only – 2022 Offers notes of sandstone to the fine-grained cherry tart and dried raspberry flavors, which lengthen out with beefy hints in the midpalate. Shows light mocha accents on the finish. Drink now. 68,795 cases made, 15,000 cases imported.
RP9191 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 23rd Jun 2022 Opening to dark flavors of ripe cherry, plum and blackberry, the Ascheri 2021 Langhe Barbera Fontanelle is fruity, full and generous. This is a balanced Barbera that wraps smoothly over the palate, imparting lots of luscious dark fruit flavors along the way. The wine never feels too heavy or ripe, and it could easily match a classic breaded veal cutlet alla Milanese. Some 25,000 bottles were made. (Monica Larner)SP9090 pts. - Wine Spectator - Feb 28, 2023 A lush red, with aromas of juniper, graphite and spice that make way for plum and blackberry fruit. Charming and harmonious, with lively acidity and density on the lingering finish. Drink now through 2026. 3,500 cases made, 200 cases imported. (Bruce Sanderson)
WE9090 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 12/1/2021 This pale-gold Semillon offers much of the pithy, waxy lemon, dried herb and damp straw notes typical to the variety and region. The palate is less generous on the fruit front with the acidity feeling a bit forced, but the finish has a lovely slippery texture and some length. This wine could shine with the right food, like a herb-laced chèvre.
SP9494 pts. - Wine Spectator - Web only – 2023 Checking all the boxes, this stunning version is fresh and vibrant yet also complex and full of flavor, from toasted green tea and lemon thyme to mouthwatering passion fruit, yuzu and mango. Ends with hints of white pepper, lemon blossoms and sea salt on the long, expressive finish. Drink now. 9,000 cases imported. (MaryAnn Worobiec)
SP9090 pts. - Wine Spectator - Jun 15, 2017 Fresh, with a long fleur de sel thread running from start to finish, accompanied by jicama and blanched almond notes. Piercing finish. Drink now. 10,000 cases made.WE9090 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - Bright pale straw in color. Light-bodied with a sense of roundness in the mouth. Refreshing acidity. Sea salt and nut flavors, enhanced by a hint of lemon. Crisp and dry, elegant and fresh.WS8989 pts. - Wine & Spirits - April 1, 2005 A salty, traditional but slightly richer than usual manzanilla, this tastes like being in Sanlucar de Barrameda. The freshness of the sea-side character is enriched by an almost buttery texture and the long nut-skin finish.
RP9191 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Sep 2022 There’s more finesse in the 2020 Els Pics, which has upfront berry fruit and integrated spice and smoke in the back. It was produced with 60% Garnacha, 30% Cariñena, 5% Merlot and 5% Syrah and matured in oak and concrete. The palate is medium to full-bodied with fine, nice ripe tannins and good balance, combining power and elegance. 2020 was a challenging year of low yields and concentration and it took a lot of work to achieve finesse. 66,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in May 2022. (Luis Gutiérrez)
