The grapes come from seven-year-old vines from Tupungato Winelands. The Malbec fermented in cement vats and the other grapes in amphorae and then matured in well-seasoned, neutral barriques for some ten months. This has a more commercial, accessible profile, though for the wider audience but keeping the electricity and minerality from Gualtallary. There is less oak than in previous vintages; the barrels are older and they are fine-tuning the process. Great balance between the more commercial and terroir side. 15,000 bottles were filled in May 2016.

It’s ripe without excess and was bottled after one-fourth of the volume spent eight months in oak barrels. So, the effect of the oak is not noticeable in the aromas or flavors, and the wine comes through as fruit-driven and juicy while still keeping the varietal profile. They produced no less than 720,000 bottles of this wine. The nose offers notes ranging from ripe plum to prunes along with white pepper and aromas from the aging process such as pencil box. Broad with sweet tannins, the flow is languorous but maintains an almost juicy freshness. A generally classical wine, the acidity is a modern touch.
