JD9595 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - March 22, 2021 Based on 74% Syrah and 26% Grenache brought up in in a combination of concrete tanks (for the Grenache) and one year old demi-muids (for the Syrah), the 2018 Cotes Du Roussillon Bastide Miraflors is a knockout bottle of wine. It offers loads of black fruits, roasted herbs, peppered meat, violets, and bacon fat as well as full-bodied richness, a round, opulent style, ripe tannins, and a blockbuster finish. VN9191 pts. - Vinous - Sep 2022 Inky ruby. Oak-spiced dark fruit preserves, candied licorice and mocha on the expansive nose. Smooth, broad and appealingly sweet, offering weighty cassis, singed plum and cherry-vanilla flavors and a touch of smokiness. Their 2018 Côtes Du Rhône is well worth seeking out and has a medium-bodied, round, silky style as well as textbook peppery herbs, violets, bouquet garni, and both red and black fruits. It shows the supple, charming, forward style of the vintage and is ideal for drinking over the coming 4–5 years.
