  1. Domaine Grand Nicolet Rasteau Vieilles Vignes

    2017 / 750 ml. | Item#58683

    JD90+90–92 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 8/28/2018
The old vine cuvée is the 2017 Rasteau Vieilles Vignes, based on 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah, and 10% Mourvèdre that’s brought up in older barrels. Blackberries, toasted spice, smoked earth and licorice notes all flow to a rich, powerful, concentrated Rasteau that has ripe, present tannins and a great finish. It’s certainly going to be an outstanding wine. (Jeb Dunnuck)
    WE8787 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 12/31/2020
Densely concentrated plum and black cherry flavors are muted by savory notes of crushed earth and tobacco and in this full-bodied blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. It’s a rounded, open-knit wine that’s showing glimpses of maturity, so it’s best to enjoy now–2024. (Anna Lee C. Iijima)

    2019 / 750 ml. | Item#57841

    RP9090 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 5th May 2022
Mainly Grenache, with the balance a blend of Mourvèdre and Syrah, the 2019 Cotes du Rhone offers up notions of ripe cherries, garrigue and even a few modest hints of pine sap. Medium to full-bodied, it’s concentrated and ripe yet silky and reasonably elegant. Drink it over the next several years.

  3. E. Guigal Côtes du Rhône

    2018 / 750 ml. | Item#59008

    JD9090 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 2/16/2022
I’m always amazed at the quality this estate gets in the Côtes du Rhône, especially at the quantities produced. Their 2018 Côtes Du Rhône is well worth seeking out and has a medium-bodied, round, silky style as well as textbook peppery herbs, violets, bouquet garni, and both red and black fruits. It shows the supple, charming, forward style of the vintage and is ideal for drinking over the coming 4–5 years. (Jeb Dunnuck)
    RP89+89–91 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 31st Oct 2019
Looking more complex and complete than the 2017 at this point, the 2018 Cotes du Rhone still has a year or so of élevage ahead of it. It has a slightly herbal, briary note, dark berry fruit and hints of mocha on the full-bodied palate. Round and fleshy, it finishes smooth and velvety. (Joe Czerwinski)
    SP8787 pts. - Wine Spectator - Feb 28, 2022
Dusty-edged, with understated cherry and red currant fruit flavors lined liberally with sandalwood and balsam wood notes. Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre. Drink now. 45,000 cases imported. (James Molesworth)

  4. Tardieu-Laurent Les Becs Fins

    2020 / 750 ml. | Item#57999

    JD9191 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 11/8/2021
A year-in, year-out smoking value, the 2020 Côtes du Rhône Les Becs Fins offers a vivid purple hue as well as a great, classic Côtes du Rhône nose of peppery black cherry and framboise fruits, garrigue, spice box, licorice, and even a hint of violets. Soft, medium-bodied, fruit-driven, yet wonderfully pure and far from a simple red, it’s going to put a smile on your face over the coming 3–5 years. (Jeb Dunnuck)

  5. Domaine Grande Bellane Valréas

    2018 / 750 ml. | Item#53188

    JD9191 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - October 6, 2020
Coming from a cooler, windy appellation, the 2018 Côtes Du Rhône Villages Valréas starts out with a darker, slightly earthy bouquet of red and blue fruits, damp forest floor, peppery herbs, and spring flowers that picks up more and more fruit with time in the glass. It shows more sweetness (ripe fruit, not sugar) and elegance on the palate and has good acidity, a balanced, light texture, silky tannins, and a great finish. It needs a good splash decant if drinking anytime soon and is a complex, nuanced, interesting Côtes du Rhône that should keep nicely for 5–6 years or more. (Jeb Dunnuck)

  6. Domaine Roche Cairanne

    2018 / 750 ml. | Item#59653

    JD90+90–92 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 8/16/2019
The 2018 Cairanne is another winner from the talented Romain Roche that should snatched up by savvy readers. Beautiful cassis and black raspberry fruits, notes of crushed flowers and violets, medium to full body, and a ripe, sexy texture all make for a quintessential Cairanne that’s going to provide tons of pleasure over the coming 5–7 years.
    RP9090 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 31st Mar 2021
The raspberry and garrigue-scented 2018 Cairanne is an early-drinking charmer. Loaded with red berries, but with enough savory, herbal complexities on the long, softly dusty finish to keep it interesting, this medium to full-bodied effort may be drunk with pleasure over the next 4–5 years. (Joe Czerwinski)
    WE8989 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 5/1/2021
Hints of smoke, caramel and crushed stone accent plum and blackberry flavors in this wine. Made from 70% Grenache augmented by 25% Syrah and 5% Carignan, it’s an opulent, easy-drinking red with a fresh, mineral finish. Best enjoyed now–2025. (Anna Lee C. Iijima)

  7. Saint-Damien Plan de Dieu Vieilles Vignes

    Côtes-du-Rhône Villages
    2019 / 750 ml. | Item#55069

    RP90+90–92 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 31st Mar 2021
An 80-20 blend of Grenache and Mourvèdre, the 2019 Cotes du Rhone Villages Plan de Dieu Vieilles Vignes is an excellent option for consumers who don’t want to spend the extra money for the Saurel family’s Gigondas bottlings. The garrigue on the nose is a bit more subtle than normal this year, with the bulk of the aromatics being super ripe cherries and berries. Full-bodied and intense, with a helping of firm tannins that keep the jamminess in check, it finishes dusty and savory, with ample length. This is a big wine, yet one I suspect will mature relatively quickly; drink it over the next 5–6 years.
    JD90+90–92 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 12/14/2020
The 2019 Plan De Dieu Vieilles Vignes has considerably more elegance and finesse compared to the richer, more opulent La Bouveau and gives up beautiful notes of black cherries, raspberries, flowers, and peppery garrigue. Medium to full-bodied, silky and just beautifully balanced, this is a no brainer Southern Rhône to enjoy over the coming 5–7 years as well. (Jeb Dunnuck)
