WE9191 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 11/1/2016 This is a full-bodied vermouth, with plenty of jammy blackberry and dark cherry fading into an appropriately bitter-edged finish.

WE9090 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 11/1/2021 Concentrated flavors of blueberries and blackberries are nicely framed by moderate tannins in this dry wine that’s been bolstered with 13% Petite Sirah. A full body and lightly gripping texture set it up nicely for pairing with big proteins. (Jim Gordon)
WE9090 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 9/1/2021 Oodles of ripe fruit flavors ride a full body in this dark-colored, saturated wine. Impressively concentrated chocolate and black-cherry notes are braced by fine-grained tannins for an almost chewy texture.
VN9292 pts. - Vinous - Jun 2022 The 2021 País Viejo is from the Secano dry-farming area of Maule. Cherry red in color. The nose presents attractive, liqueur-like aromas of strawberry, sour cherry and a hint of damp earth. With fine-grained, slightly reactive tannins, it’s miraculously smooth for the variety. (Joaquín Hidalgo)
WE9292 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 12/31/2022 The Bolt is made predominantly with fruit from own-rooted vines growing at approximately 1,200 feet above sea level in the Goose Mountain block of Goose Ridge Ranch. It is graceful and balanced, with juicy acidity, sturdy tannic structure and restrained alcohol. With its aromas and flavors of Bing cherries, salted black licorice, orange blossoms, freshly cut grass and a savory note of pan-seared steak with fresh rosemary, this is a stunning value. (Michael Alberty)SP8989 pts. - Wine Spectator - Web only – 2023 A zesty red, open-knit and lively, with black cherry and toasty espresso flavors that finish on a snappy note. Drink now through 2028. 28,000 cases made. (Tim Fish)
RP9191 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 5th Jan 2023 The best version of this cuvée I can recall tasting, the 2020 Pic Saint Loup Coste d’Aleyrac is a softer, lusher, more generous wine than past (or succeeding) vintages, loaded with blackberry and black cherry fruit. Full, rich, velvety and long, it’s a terrific value. As usual, it’s an unoaked blend of 50% Grenache, 40% Syrah and 10% Carignan. (Joe Czerwinski)
WE8585 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 5/1/2012 This celebrated Italian brand continues its historic production of sweet sparkling wine from northern Italy. Made with Moscato Bianco grapes, this expression is fresh, with steely effervescence and a sweet, fruity note with hints of peach and honey.
SP9090 pts. - Wine Spectator - Aug 31, 2023 A textbook Torrontés, showing geranium, peach and Meyer lemon aromas up front, this picks up rich candied orange peel and juicy peach notes, which have just enough acidity to keep the floridness in check. Drink now. 12,000 cases made, 3,000 cases imported. (Aaron Romano)
JD9292 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 3/22/2021 Based largely on Carignan, with 30% Garnacha and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2018 Priorat has a big, smoky nose of mulled red and black fruits, graphite, flowers, and new leather. This carries to a medium to full-bodied wine with terrific tannins (especially for Carignan), a balanced, elegant texture, no hard edges, and a great finish. (Jeb Dunnuck)
SP9292 pts. - Wine Spectator - Oct 21, 2020 Rich and velvety, this red is big but gentle, with raspberry jam, cherry pie and vanilla flavors that caress the palate. Well-integrated tannins give subtle structure, while citrusy acidity keeps this fresh. Harmonious, in a ripe, fruit-centered style. Drink now through 2026. 5,000 cases made, 1,100 cases imported.RP9191 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Apr 2020 The pale and bright ruby colored 2018 Coto de Hayas Garnacha Centenaria is really impressively aromatic, floral, open and expressive. It had a soft vinification in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts and matured in French oak barrels for four months, including malolactic. The palate is medium-bodied, the tannins are fine and the flavors clean and focused. The wine is tasty and impressive, elegant and really pleasant. At this price, it’s a real bargain. I just wish the élevage was a little more respectful with the varietal aromas, because it’s still a little oaky. Today, this is the finest wine in the portfolio, and one of the best I remember from Bodegas Aragonesas. 150,000 bottles produced. (Luis Gutiérrez)
VN9191 pts. - Vinous - Feb 2021 Inky ruby. Smoke- and spice-accented dark fruits, pungent flowers and subtle oak spiciness on the perfumed nose. Smooth and fleshy on the palate, showing good heft as well as energy to the bitter cherry and blackberry flavors. Finishes long and spicy, with even tannins and bright closing lift.
RP9090 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 13th Aug 2020 The 2019 Weissburgunder is a nicely reductive, precise, intensely aromatic and fruity yet clear, fresh and well-defined Pinot Blanc. The body is medium-weight and provided with intense, elegant fruit and a lovely yeasty texture. The finish is intensely aromatic again, perfectly ripe yet fresh and linear. This is an excellent white for many occasions, even itself. Stimulatingly salty on the finish. Incredibly good! Tasted from AP 11 20 in June 2020.
JD92+92–94 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - September 6, 2019 A smaller production cuvée, the 2017 Maury Sec Serge & Marie checks in as 70% Grenache, 20% Carignan, and 10% Syrah that was brought up in a mix of foudre and used barrels. It’s also the first vintage for new winemaker Marie Verges as well as the first vintage to ever see small barrels, which were purchased from Guigal in the Northern Rhône. Deep purple-colored with a smoky, meaty bouquet of black fruits, licorice, crushed rocks, and black olives, it’s rich, full-bodied, beautifully textured, and layered on the palate, with ripe tannins. This fleshy, expansive barrel sample has tons of potential. (Jeb Dunnuck)RP9090 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 11th Jun 2020 Named for owner Dan Kravitz’s longtime vigneron (Serge) and the winemaker at the local co-op where the wine is made (Marie), the 2017 Maury Sec Serge & Marie offers subtle notes of leather layered over big black-cherry fruit and hints of garrigue and crushed stone. A blend of 70% Grenache, 20% Carignan and 10% Syrah, aged in a combination of foudre and used barrels, it’s full-bodied, supple and expansive in the mouth, where it picks up nuances of raspberries and pencil shavings before finishing with gently dusty tannins and a note of dark chocolate.
JD9191 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - October 6, 2020 Coming from a cooler, windy appellation, the 2018 Côtes Du Rhône Villages Valréas starts out with a darker, slightly earthy bouquet of red and blue fruits, damp forest floor, peppery herbs, and spring flowers that picks up more and more fruit with time in the glass. It shows more sweetness (ripe fruit, not sugar) and elegance on the palate and has good acidity, a balanced, light texture, silky tannins, and a great finish. It needs a good splash decant if drinking anytime soon and is a complex, nuanced, interesting Côtes du Rhône that should keep nicely for 5–6 years or more. (Jeb Dunnuck)
