Today, my impression is of a tightly wound, powerful red that is going to need time to come together. Sweet red cherry, pomegranate, spice and mint are all pushed forward, but the 2014 needs time. The only question is how much. It’s full-bodied, deliciously pure, ripe and a total hedonistic turn-on. Drink it over the next 5–6 years.

A juicy, elegant wine with medium to full body, bright acidity, and a seamless texture, drink this incredibly delicious Zinfandel over the coming 5–7 years or so. In 2018, those sites are Papera, Carlisle and Mancini, a combination that works brilliantly. Dark red/purplish fruit, lavender and menthol flesh out effortlessly, with bright acids that punctuate the finish.
