Critical Acclaim

RP86 Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate 28th Feb 2011

"The 2008 GEWURZTRAMINER LATE HARVEST “ESPERA” is from a Nemea vineyard. The price quoted is for a 375ml bottle. Sweet and friendly, this dessert wine is initially just sugary fun, easygoing and charming, dribbling the sugar over the palate and having just a little varietal bitterness to cut the sweet nuances. With time and air, it becomes drier and the varietal character comes to the fore a bit more, less a dessert wine and more of an off-dry wine that might find a place on some tables with food. There is not a lot of structure or depth, and it flattens quickly, but it is pleasing and drinks nicely. I’d drink it young. Drink now–2012." (86 pts.)

Greece

Greece is one of the oldest wine-producing countries in the world, with evidence of wine production dating back to 6,500 years ago. With that said, Greece has been largely overshadowed by many of its Mediterranean counterparts when it comes to Old World wine production. There are, however, some fantastic, critically-acclaimed wines coming from Greece. Many of these hail from the Aegean Islands and Peloponnese appellations.
