Zinfandel wine is one of the truly "American" wine sensations in the marketplace. Nowhere else in the world is the Zinfandel grape grown so extensively and with such success. And to narrow it down even further, the Zinfandel grape, which makes both Red Zinfandel and White Zinfandel wines, is grown primarily in California.

Red Zinfandel wine is typically bold in flavor, with a rich, lush texture, and typically high alcohol content. Among other things, Zinfandel pairs perfectly with barbecue (another American tradition).

You'll find a fantastic selection of Zinfandels to choose from here at WineMadeEasy.com!

  6. Bedrock Bedrock Vineyard Heritage

    2021 / 750 ml. | Item#58794

The 2021 Bedrock Heritage Wine is a great expression of this site. Black cherry, chocolate, spice, leather and tobacco are front and center. This dark, virile Zinfandel-based field blend packs a serious punch. There’s plenty of detail and nuance behind all of that intensity. The 2021 is a big wine, but also less monolithic than some previous editions. There’s a bit more whole cluster in the 2021 than in the past, so perhaps that explains the wine’s nuance. The 2021 is one of the best wines I have ever tasted from the Bedrock vineyard, and I say that as someone who is not yet fully convinced of the potential here. (Antonio Galloni)

Bold and brooding, this Zin-based blend is a cornucopia of aromas and flavors, with deep blackberry, smoky anise, black pepper, clove and other dusky spice notes that build tension and structure toward broad-shouldered tannins. Hands off for now. Zinfandel, Carignan and Mataro. Best from 2024 through 2032. 800 cases made. (Tim Fish)

  10. Hartford Russian River Valley Old Vine Zinfandel

    2021 / 750 ml. | Item#59184

    SP9393 pts. - Wine Spectator - Web only – 2023
Brambly and vibrant yet elegantly structured, with detailed blueberry and raspberry flavors accented by mineral, sandalwood and pepper notes that build toward zesty tannins. Drink now through 2032. 2,044 cases made. (Tim Fish)
    JD9191 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 7/21/2023
A deep and youthful ruby with a hint of purple, the 2021 Zinfandel Russian River Valley is ripe and juicy with boysenberry, mocha, and pine. Full-bodied, it lends a nice balance of ripe and tart fruit on the palate, with a classic feel to its fine tannins underneath a sheen of silkiness. It is ripe and rounded, with notable freshness and a good finish. Drink it over the next few years. (Audrey Frick)

  13. Ridge Geyserville

    2021 / 750 ml. | Item#60618

    VN94+94+ pts. - Vinous - Jan 2023
The 2021 Geyserville hits the palate with a burst of dark red/purplish fruit, sweet spice, lavender, chocolate, dried herbs and American oak. I would be in no rush to open the 2021, as it is clearly an infant at this stage. The blend is 76% Zinfandel, 16% Carignane, 6% Petite Syrah and 2% Alicante Bouschet. The 2021 is a powerhouse, that much is pretty clear. (Antonio Galloni)
    SP9393 pts. - Wine Spectator - Web only – 2023
Tightly focused and briary, this blend offers density without weight. Presents plum and blueberry flavors accented by dill and green peppercorn as this builds tension toward medium-grained tannins. Zinfandel, Carignane, Petite Sirah and Alicante Bouschet. Drink now through 2032. 9,000 cases made. (Tim Fish)
