JD9191 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 5/22/2023 The 2022 Tavel Vieilles Vignes (60% Grenache, 30% Cinsault, and 10% Syrah) has a classic Tavel deeper ruby hue as well as powerful aromatics of framboise, candied strawberries, white pepper, and hints of Provençal garrigue. Beautiful on the palate as well, it has plenty of richness, medium body, and a clean, dry finish. A terrific Tavel, it brings plenty of richness while staying light on its feet and balanced. JD90+90–92 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 8/28/2018 The old vine cuvée is the 2017 Rasteau Vieilles Vignes, based on 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah, and 10% Mourvèdre that’s brought up in older barrels. Blackberries, toasted spice, smoked earth and licorice notes all flow to a rich, powerful, concentrated Rasteau that has ripe, present tannins and a great finish. It’s certainly going to be an outstanding wine. (Jeb Dunnuck)WE8787 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 12/31/2020 Densely concentrated plum and black cherry flavors are muted by savory notes of crushed earth and tobacco and in this full-bodied blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. It’s a rounded, open-knit wine that’s showing glimpses of maturity, so it’s best to enjoy now–2024. (Anna Lee C. JD9191 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 5/22/2023 The 2022 Luberon Les Becs Fins Rosé is terrific, with a pure, medium-bodied, textured, yet vibrant style as well as classic notes of watermelon, strawberries, and subtle floral nuances. It’s balanced and will shine on the dinner table as well as on its own. JD9292 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 1/25/2022 Moving to the reds, the 2020 Vacqueyras Les Hauts De La Ponche is 50% Grenache and 25% each of Syrah and Mourvèdre. It actually reminds me of a Pomerol with its red and blue fruits as well as bouquet garni, damp earth, and floral nuances. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, I love its balance, and it has silky tannins and remarkable purity of fruit. Drink bottles over the coming 7–8 years. RP9090 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 5th May 2022 Mainly Grenache, with the balance a blend of Mourvèdre and Syrah, the 2019 Cotes du Rhone offers up notions of ripe cherries, garrigue and even a few modest hints of pine sap. Medium to full-bodied, it’s concentrated and ripe yet silky and reasonably elegant. Drink it over the next several years.
RP88+88–90 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 12th Dec 2020 Plums, black cherries and hints of garrigue mark the nose of the 2019 Cotes du Rhone les 3 Soeurs, a blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. It’s medium to full-bodied, with soft masses of ripe tannin that impart a plush mouthfeel and linger easily on the finish. As always with this cuvée, I’d opt for drinking it on the young side.
WE8989 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 7/1/2021 Dusty shards of granite, lavender and sun-kissed mulberries perfume this wine from Alain Jaume. It’s an approachable, fruity blend of Grenache (60%), Syrah (30%) and Cinsault (10%) cut by a revitalizing strike of acidity and a lingering stony finish. Best enjoyed now–2024.JD8989 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 10/6/2020 Mostly Grenache blended with roughly 30% Syrah, brought up all in tank, the 2019 Côtes Du Rhône Haut De Brun is another terrific release from this estate that delivers loads of pleasure for not much buck. Impressive red and black fruits, notes of peppery garrigue, and earth, medium-bodied richness, and a juicy, gulpable style all make for a seriously good Côtes du Rhône to enjoy over the coming 3–5 years. (Jeb Dunnuck)RP8888 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 24th Sep 2020 The 2019 Cotes du Rhone Haut de Brun comes across as slightly darker and more concentrated than the 2018, showing hints of blueberries and black cherries mixing in with the raspberries and cherries. It’s medium to full-bodied, shows some soft, velvety tannins, and displays admirable purity on the finish.
RP9090 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 18th May 2023 The coppery-hued 2022 Les Cassagnes de la Nerthe Cotes du Rhone Rose features easygoing notes of ripe melon, plus hints of peaches and red berries. Medium-bodied, it’s plump and nicely rounded without being overly broad, remaining clean, refreshing and harmonious on the finish. (Joe Czerwinski)
JD9090 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 2/16/2022 I’m always amazed at the quality this estate gets in the Côtes du Rhône, especially at the quantities produced. Their 2018 Côtes Du Rhône is well worth seeking out and has a medium-bodied, round, silky style as well as textbook peppery herbs, violets, bouquet garni, and both red and black fruits. It shows the supple, charming, forward style of the vintage and is ideal for drinking over the coming 4–5 years. (Jeb Dunnuck)RP89+89–91 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 31st Oct 2019 Looking more complex and complete than the 2017 at this point, the 2018 Cotes du Rhone still has a year or so of élevage ahead of it. It has a slightly herbal, briary note, dark berry fruit and hints of mocha on the full-bodied palate. Round and fleshy, it finishes smooth and velvety. (Joe Czerwinski)SP8787 pts. - Wine Spectator - Feb 28, 2022 Dusty-edged, with understated cherry and red currant fruit flavors lined liberally with sandalwood and balsam wood notes. Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre. Drink now. 45,000 cases imported. (James Molesworth)
SP8888 pts. - Wine Spectator - Web only – 2022 Very open and expressive, with a burst of dark cherry preserve backed by a hint of anise. Features a flash of warm earth that keeps it just honest enough on the finish. Grenache and Syrah. Drink now. 30,000 cases made, 1,500 cases imported.
JD9191 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 11/8/2021 A year-in, year-out smoking value, the 2020 Côtes du Rhône Les Becs Fins offers a vivid purple hue as well as a great, classic Côtes du Rhône nose of peppery black cherry and framboise fruits, garrigue, spice box, licorice, and even a hint of violets. Soft, medium-bodied, fruit-driven, yet wonderfully pure and far from a simple red, it’s going to put a smile on your face over the coming 3–5 years. (Jeb Dunnuck)
