  4. Semeli Espera

    Late Harvest Gewürztraminer
    2008 / 500 ml. | Item#31156

    RP8686 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 28th Feb 2011
The 2008 GEWURZTRAMINER LATE HARVEST “ESPERA” is from a Nemea vineyard. The price quoted is for a 375ml bottle. Sweet and friendly, this dessert wine is initially just sugary fun, easygoing and charming, dribbling the sugar over the palate and having just a little varietal bitterness to cut the sweet nuances. With time and air, it becomes drier and the varietal character comes to the fore a bit more, less a dessert wine and more of an off-dry wine that might find a place on some tables with food. There is not a lot of structure or depth, and it flattens quickly, but it is pleasing and drinks nicely. I’d drink it young. Drink now–2012.

  5. Loukatos Mavrodaphne of Patras

    NV / 750 ml. | Item#49410

    SP8888 pts. - Wine Spectator - Web only – 2012
Fruity and sweet, with good cut to the dark cherry, roasted plum and dried berry flavors. Asian spice and milk chocolate notes linger on the finish. Drink now through 2016. 150,000 cases made.

Toasted nut, caramel and sweet cedar aromas are followed by hot, spicy flavors, rounded by sweet cherry and vanilla. Earthy but a touch flirty, this wine has an indigenous appeal.

  7. Rhous Winery Dry White Wine

    2015 / 750 ml. | Item#44188

    RP9090 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 27th Apr 2016
The 2015 Estate White is an unoaked blend of 80% Muscat of Spina and 20% Vidiano. Dry, it comes in at just 12% alcohol. This has all that Muscat personality and a somewhat herbaceous nuance. A perfect summer white, it is fresh, friendly and crisp, with tons of flavor on the nice finish. This doesn’t have quite the roundness or depth of the "Skipper" white, also reviewed, but it has far more zest and character. They both do what they should rather well. This is a nice bargain if, of course, you like wines with some of that grass and zing. It should hold for a couple of years, at least, but the freshness here is a key selling point that you won’t likely want to lose. Drink it young for best results; it may not stay at peak for all of its useful life.
    WE8888 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 11/1/2016
This innovative Cretan producer hits the mark with this pretty, fragrant white blend including the island’s hallmark white, Vidiano. The nose is full of flowers, white peach fruit and rip citrus, while on the palate, an interplay of exotic fruit and minerality keep the wine focused but friendly. A great wine for spicy Indian cuisine or sushi.

  8. Domaine Papagiannakos Savatiano Old Vines

    2021 / 750 ml. | Item#58849

    RP8888 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 22nd Sep 2022
The 2021 Savatiano Old Vines is unoaked and comes in at 12.4% alcohol. This is a fresh and lively Savatiano with well-integrated acidity and appealing freshness. Compared to its sibling, the 2020 also reviewed, this lacks some flavor and character, although there seems to be a hint of mint in the background, but some may prefer the focused and more youthful presentation here. Of course, for this type of wine, an extra year in bottle is a significant matter, so perhaps this will also develop in a manner similar to the 2020. For the moment, I’d take the 2020, but they are likely to be pretty close if given the same aging. Sourced from 50+-year-old vines in the Attica area, there were 190,000 bottles produced.
