  1. Harris Estate Vineyards Casey’s Lakeview Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

    2013 / 750 ml. | Item#43584

    RP9595 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Dec 2015
The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Casey’s Lakeview is similarly inky bluish/purple to the rim. Tasting like blood, this wine is dense and rich with lots of chocolate, espresso, earth and spice. It is deep, full-bodied, and again, a masculine style of wine that needs at least 4–5 years of cellaring and should keep for 25 or more years.
    VN9494 pts. - Vinous - Oct 2015
Darker tonalities of fruit along with distinctly savory undertones are two of the signatures in the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Casey’s Lakeview Vineyard. Rich, ample and powerful, the Casey’s Lakeview offers notable richness to fill out its broad-shouldered frame. Hints of lavender and mint add nuance in a virile Cabernet Sauvignon that needs at least a few years to fully come together.

    2013 / 750 ml. | Item#53490

    VN9696 pts. - Vinous - Sep 2020
The 2013 Ghemme Collis Breclamae is fabulous. Deep, dark and also translucent, the 2013 possesses magnificent clarity as well as structure. Black cherry, lavender, truffle, mint, spice and new leather all develop in an ample, resonant Ghemme that hits all the right notes. A rich, substantial finish rounds things out in style. The 2013 can be enjoyed with minimal cellaring, but it also has the pedigree to develop in the cellar for many years to come. Each time I come back to the 2013 it is more impressive.

    2013 / 750 ml. | Item#55827

    RP9292 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Apr 2020
Disgorged in May 2019, the 2013 Brut Premier Cru Empreinte is showing well, opening in the glass with notes of citrus oil, crisp yellow orchard fruit, clear honey and wet stones. On the palate, it’s medium to full-bodied, tensile and incisive, with an inviting core of fruit, ripe but racy acids and a long, saline finish. This is a beautifully elegant, classically balanced Champagne from Geoffroy that bears the stamp of the late, cool growing season.

  5. K Vintners The Hidden Syrah

    Northridge Vineyard
    2013 / 750 ml. | Item#44174

    RP9797 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 29th Jun 2016
Reminding me of a Northern Rhone Syrah from the Le Meal lieu-dit on Hermitage Hill, the 2013 Syrah The Hidden Northridge Vineyard comes entirely from the Northridge Vineyard on the Wahluke Slope, was fermented with 100% whole clusters and aged in mostly neutral oak. It offers thrilling notes of black raspberries, toasted bread, caramelized meats and licorice in a full-bodied, ultra-pure, supple, incredibly sexy style. Possessing building, fine tannin, it needs a lengthy decant if drinking anytime soon, but this utterly seamless, perfectly balanced beauty will offer upward of two decades of overall longevity.
    WE9595 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 2/1/2017
Aromas of pomegranate, black fruit, herb and barrel spice lead to rich seamless palate-coating dark-fruit flavors. It’s hedonistic but retains a sense of balance along with an unabashed deliciousness.
    SP9393 pts. - Wine Spectator - Web only – 2016
Broad, generous and opulent, with raspberry, black cherry and rhubarb flavors that maintain momentum into a long and supple finish, picking up hints of dill and black tea. Best from 2018 through 2023. 760 cases made.

  6. Dom Pérignon

    2013 / 750 ml. | Item#59435

    SP9696 pts. - Wine Spectator - Nov 30, 2022
Vivid acidity and a chalky underpinning make a crystalline frame for finely detailed notes of ripe melon, mandarin orange, toasted brioche and candied ginger in this harmonious Champagne, which is expressive and expansive on the palate, but with a sense of finesse and restraint. Long and creamy on the mineral-laced finish. Drink now through 2037. (Alison Napjus)
    RP95+95+ pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 31st Aug 2022
Disgorged in October last year, the 2013 Dom Pérignon is a lovely wine, defined by the long, cool growing season. Offering up aromas of crisp stone fruit, tangerine oil, buttered toast, pear, almonds and clear honey, it’s medium to full-bodied, ample and seamless, with bright acids and a pillowy, enveloping profile, concluding with a long, saline finish. Vincent Chaperon recalls that shatter at fruit set moderated yields and that a drying east wind in the weeks before harvest helped to maintain the good sanitation necessary to wait to pick at full maturity. (William Kelley)
    VN9494 pts. - Vinous - May 2022
The 2013 Dom Pérignon is quite delicate and understated. It reminds me of the 2004, but with a bit more mid-palate richness and a bit less energy. Apricot, tangerine peel, white flowers, jasmine, mint and light honeyed notes all meld together. There’s lovely vinous intensity as well as a feeling of openness that make the 2013 a delight to taste today. The 2013 doesn’t look to be an epic DP, but it sure is delicious right now. Extra Brut Champagne
    2013 / 750 ml. | Item#55528

    WE9494 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 10/1/2021
The effects of a cool year on this new vintage release is impressive in its texture, acidity and serious aging potential. Crisp apple and white-fruit flavors come together with a tight structure and a pure line of freshness. Drink from 2023.
    RP9393 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 31st Mar 2021
Disgorged with five grams per liter dosage, Moët’s 2013 Extra Brut Grand Vintage is a real success, wafting from the glass with aromas of pear, fresh bread, Meyer lemon, nougat and white flowers. Medium to full-bodied, chiseled and fine-boned, with an enveloping core of bright, vibrant fruit and a pretty pinpoint mousse, it concludes with a precise, penetrating finish. Incisive but not austere, it’s an impressive effort, reflecting good levels of maturity in this cool, late harvest. It’s as fine a rendition of this cuvée as I can remember tasting.
    SP9393 pts. - Wine Spectator - Nov 30, 2021
This elegant Champagne displays citrus, mineral and toast character in equal measure, with bright notes of preserved lemon and verbena layered with smoke, chalk, brioche and nut flavors. The interplay is backed by deftly knit acidity, riding the fine and creamy mousse through to the lingering finish. Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Disgorged May 2019. Drink now through 2030.
    JS9393 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Tuesday, April 6, 2021
A creamy-textured Champagne with fine bubbles that are numerous and textural. It’s full-bodied and rounded with lovely bread dough and cooked apple, as well as just a hint of stone and mineral. It’s long, dry and satisfying at the finish. 41% chardonnay and 38% pinot noir, the rest pinot meunier. Drink now.

  8. Pol Roger Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill Champagne

    2013 / 750 ml. | Item#59285

    VN9797 pts. - Vinous - Mar 2022
The 2013 Brut Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill is fabulous. Rich and remarkably pure, the 2013 is super-expressive right out of the gate. Bright saline notes cut through a core of lemon confit, dried flowers, apricot, tangerine peel, mint and sage. As compelling as the 2013 is, it really needs more time to open a bit. There is a feeling of transparency here that is so alluring. The 2013 is a terrific example of power with no excess weight in Champagne. I loved it. Disgorged: July 2021. Dosage is 7 grams per liter. (Antonio Galloni)
    RP9696 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 15th Mar 2022
The 2013 Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill has turned out especially well, wafting from the glass with aromas of orange oil, confit lemon and crisp golden orchard fruit, complemented by subtle hints of brioche and clear honey. Medium to full-bodied, pillowy and seamless, with a deep core of fruit, bright acids and a beautifully refined mousse, this is an elegant, penetrating rendition of Churchill that stands out for its charm and effortlessness. 9. R. López de Heredia Viña Cubillo

    2013 / 750 ml. | Item#57485

    JS9393 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Thursday, October 14, 2021
Enticing aromas of blackberries, leather and cedar with some dried flowers follow through to a medium to full body with firm tannins and a fresh, citrusy finish. Very traditional and real. Drink now.
    RP92+92+ pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 14th Jul 2022
2013 was a very tough vintage when they had to discard up to 100,000 kilograms of grapes and production of most of the wines was lower; it’s also the year when their father died, and they were very encouraged to make very good wines. The 2013 Viña Cubillo Tinto Crianza is the entry-level red from that year, the cooler of the shortlist of 2013, 2014 and 2015 I tasted next to each other. The wine is more austere even within the style they say is their wine for the by-the-glass market. It’s classical and developed with a polished palate after three years in barrel. It overdelivers for the conditions of the year. 90,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in May 2019. (Luis Gutiérrez)

  10. Azelia Barolo San Rocco

    2013 / 750 ml. | Item#45174

    VN9595 pts. - Vinous - Feb 2017
Another highlight in this range, the 2013 Barolo San Rocco is utterly beguiling. The bouquet alone is striking, but it is the wine’s total balance that is most appealing today. Tasted next to the Margheria, the San Rocco is deeper, darker and more overtly powerful, with a greater sense of Serralunga tannic clout. Dark cherry, tobacco, menthol, licorice and sweet spices give the San Rocco much of its exotic personality. The San Rocco was aged in French oak barrels, with about 10% new wood.
    RP94+94+ pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 31st Aug 2017
Azelia has hit it out of the ballpark with the three single-vineyard Barolos presented. The 2013 Barolo San Rocco is a rich and penetrating wine that keeps a sharp focus on balance and harmony all the while. This vineyard is located in Serralunga d’Alba, and the vines were planted in the early 1990s. The bouquet is robust and forthcoming with dark fruit, spice and cured leather. But ethereal notes of smoke, tar and licorice also lift delicately from the bouquet. You get both power and elegance with this cellar-worthy wine.

  11. Champagne Louis Roederer Cristal Rosé

    2013 / 750 ml. | Item#57284

    RP9999 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 15th Apr 2021
A candidate for wine-of-the-vintage honors in Champagne, Roederer’s 2013 Cristal Rosé is showing brilliantly, unfurling in the glass with notes of crisp orchard fruit, white flowers, red berries, stone fruit, freshly baked bread and tangerine oil. Full-bodied, layered and multidimensional, the vintage’s bright girdling acids are amply cloaked in exuberant, expressive and notably concentrated fruit; so while this Cristal is as tensile and age-worthy as one would expect, it’s also impressively fleshy and generous given the year. Concluding with an intensely sapid finish, the 2013 isn’t as overtly structured as the muscular, tightly wound 2012: rather, it’s the 2013’s alliance of cut and flesh, precision and charm that’s so compelling this year. This is another banner vintage for what I consider the reigning champion of the region’s tête de cuvée bottlings, and it will be worth an effort to acquire.
    VN9898 pts. - Vinous - Nov 2021
The 2013 Cristal Rosé is searingly intense right out of the glass, just like the Blanc, except it has a bit more fleshiness because of the skin contact on the Pinot. Cristal Rosé has one of the best track records for aging in Champagne. I suspect the 2013 will join the ranks of the epic vintages, but it is painfully tight today. The blend is 55% Pinot Noir (from Aÿ) and 45% Chardonnay (from Avize and Mesnil) done in the classic Roederer infusion style in which Pinot Noir is vinified on the skins and then blended with Chardonnay to complete the fermentation. About 25% of the lots were done in oak, while malolactic fermentation was blocked.
    SP9797 pts. - Wine Spectator - Nov 30, 2021
Like an orchestra that melds the voices of many components into one compelling song, this bright rosé offers precision balance, seamlessly knitting an expressive range of ripe nectarine and raspberry fruit, Marcona almond, blood orange peel and candied ginger flavors with racy acidity and saline-laced minerality. Plush and creamy on the lasting finish. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Drink now through 2036. 154 cases imported.

  12. Gaja Costa Russi

    2013 / 750 ml. | Item#44183

    VN9898 pts. - Vinous - Oct 2016
The 2013 Barbaresco Costa Russi is a real head-turner. Crystalline and utterly vivid in its expression of Nebbiolo, the 2013 is all class. Stylistically, the Costa Russi is closest to the straight Barbaresco, but it has a little more mid-palate sweetness and density. Bright floral and minty notes add lift on the chiseled, expressive finish. The Costa Russi is the star of the show this year, considering it is the least pedigreed of Gaja’s three single-vineyard sites. The 2013 has been stunningly beautiful on the three occasions I have tasted it so far.
    JS9898 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Wednesday, November 9, 2016
Medium ruby color. The class, strength and finesse to this wine are ever present with berry, dark-chocolate and walnut character. Full-bodied, dense and chewy. Very fresh. Chocolate, mango and ripe-strawberry flavors herald a bright finish. Needs four or five years to soften. Classic tannins. Better in 2021.
    RP9595 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 29th Jun 2016
The 2013 Barbaresco Costa Russi is a celebration of vineyard site. In the past, this wine was blended with 5% Barbera, but this is no longer the case starting now. For the first time in recent memory, we are tasting a pure expression of Nebbiolo as harvested from the rows of vines in the Costa Russi cru, located directly below Sorì Tildìn at the base of the Barbaresco village. The vines are over 65-years-old and are planted in limestone clay and marl soils. Costa Russi is known for delicate, light-bodied wines that exhibit floral aromas of rose hip and lavender, as well as darker fruit tones at the back. Those qualities are beautifully evident in this vintage. The mouthfeel is characterized by a firm sense of tannic structure that is common to all of Gaja’s new releases in the 2013 vintage.

  13. Ramey Pedregal Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

    2013 / 750 ml. | Item#44268

    RP9595 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 1st Mar 2016
From Oakville, the 2013 Pedregal Vineyard is usually the top Cabernet Sauvignon. A classic nose of cedar wood, forest floor, blackcurrants and loamy earth notes is followed by a wine of stunning intensity, full-bodied potency, beautiful purity and length. There is plenty of tannin, but the extravagant richness seems to cover it up extremely well.
    VN9595 pts. - Vinous - Mar 2017
The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Pedregal Vineyard has turned out beautifully. It is also much more accessible young than I expected, despite its considerable size. Bright red stone fruit and pomegranate notes are pushed forward. There is plenty of tannin, but it is nearly buried by the sheer intensity of the fruit. There is plenty of stuffing and potential here.
    WE9595 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 3/1/2017
This wine was co-fermented with 15% Petit Verdot from the same rocky, hillside site. The two varieties marry seamlessly in the glass, exuding a distinct perfume of forest mushroom and violet. Though pronounced in structure the wine is also soft and round, with a dotting of dried herb and a considerable length of clove and dust. It’s rich, intense and memorable.
    SP9494 pts. - Wine Spectator - Oct 31, 2016
Shows impressive richness, size and grace. For all the depth and intensity, this features a supple, caressing element to the tannins, letting the earth, dried herb and dark berry flavors flow easily. The tannins linger in the background and then finish with a burst of licorice, spice, mocha and oak details. Best from 2019 through 2032. 615 cases made.
