    From French clones planted in the Berg Schlossberg, Berg Rottland and on flatter sites and vinified in smaller barrels, the 2017 Spätburgunder Pinot Noir offers darker-toned and intense fruit with discreet toasty and spicy notes. Lush and round but elegant and fresh on the palate, this is a medium-bodied, quite filigreed and fresh Pinot Noir, with a fine and refreshing but also intense finish with delicate acidity and very fine tannins. 12% alcohol.     Fresh cherry is laced with kirsch distillate on a high-toned nose and a glossy, brightly juicy, piquantly pit-tinged palate. Grenadine and mineral salts add allure to an admirably clear and downright refreshing finish.
