  1. K Vintners The Hidden Syrah

    Northridge Vineyard
    2013 / 750 ml. | Item#44174

    RP9797 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 29th Jun 2016
Reminding me of a Northern Rhone Syrah from the Le Meal lieu-dit on Hermitage Hill, the 2013 Syrah The Hidden Northridge Vineyard comes entirely from the Northridge Vineyard on the Wahluke Slope, was fermented with 100% whole clusters and aged in mostly neutral oak. It offers thrilling notes of black raspberries, toasted bread, caramelized meats and licorice in a full-bodied, ultra-pure, supple, incredibly sexy style. Possessing building, fine tannin, it needs a lengthy decant if drinking anytime soon, but this utterly seamless, perfectly balanced beauty will offer upward of two decades of overall longevity.
    WE9595 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 2/1/2017
Aromas of pomegranate, black fruit, herb and barrel spice lead to rich seamless palate-coating dark-fruit flavors. It’s hedonistic but retains a sense of balance along with an unabashed deliciousness.
    SP9393 pts. - Wine Spectator - Web only – 2016
Broad, generous and opulent, with raspberry, black cherry and rhubarb flavors that maintain momentum into a long and supple finish, picking up hints of dill and black tea. Best from 2018 through 2023. 760 cases made.

  2. Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage

    Extra Brut Champagne
    2013 / 750 ml. | Item#55528

    WE9494 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 10/1/2021
The effects of a cool year on this new vintage release is impressive in its texture, acidity and serious aging potential. Crisp apple and white-fruit flavors come together with a tight structure and a pure line of freshness. Drink from 2023.
    RP9393 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 31st Mar 2021
Disgorged with five grams per liter dosage, Moët’s 2013 Extra Brut Grand Vintage is a real success, wafting from the glass with aromas of pear, fresh bread, Meyer lemon, nougat and white flowers. Medium to full-bodied, chiseled and fine-boned, with an enveloping core of bright, vibrant fruit and a pretty pinpoint mousse, it concludes with a precise, penetrating finish. Incisive but not austere, it’s an impressive effort, reflecting good levels of maturity in this cool, late harvest. It’s as fine a rendition of this cuvée as I can remember tasting.
    SP9393 pts. - Wine Spectator - Nov 30, 2021
This elegant Champagne displays citrus, mineral and toast character in equal measure, with bright notes of preserved lemon and verbena layered with smoke, chalk, brioche and nut flavors. The interplay is backed by deftly knit acidity, riding the fine and creamy mousse through to the lingering finish. Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Disgorged May 2019. Drink now through 2030.
    JS9393 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Tuesday, April 6, 2021
A creamy-textured Champagne with fine bubbles that are numerous and textural. It’s full-bodied and rounded with lovely bread dough and cooked apple, as well as just a hint of stone and mineral. It’s long, dry and satisfying at the finish. 41% chardonnay and 38% pinot noir, the rest pinot meunier. Drink now.

  3. Champagne Louis Roederer Cristal Rosé

    2013 / 750 ml. | Item#57284

    RP9999 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 15th Apr 2021
A candidate for wine-of-the-vintage honors in Champagne, Roederer’s 2013 Cristal Rosé is showing brilliantly, unfurling in the glass with notes of crisp orchard fruit, white flowers, red berries, stone fruit, freshly baked bread and tangerine oil. Full-bodied, layered and multidimensional, the vintage’s bright girdling acids are amply cloaked in exuberant, expressive and notably concentrated fruit; so while this Cristal is as tensile and age-worthy as one would expect, it’s also impressively fleshy and generous given the year. Concluding with an intensely sapid finish, the 2013 isn’t as overtly structured as the muscular, tightly wound 2012: rather, it’s the 2013’s alliance of cut and flesh, precision and charm that’s so compelling this year. This is another banner vintage for what I consider the reigning champion of the region’s tête de cuvée bottlings, and it will be worth an effort to acquire.
    VN9898 pts. - Vinous - Nov 2021
The 2013 Cristal Rosé is searingly intense right out of the glass, just like the Blanc, except it has a bit more fleshiness because of the skin contact on the Pinot. Cristal Rosé has one of the best track records for aging in Champagne. I suspect the 2013 will join the ranks of the epic vintages, but it is painfully tight today. The blend is 55% Pinot Noir (from Aÿ) and 45% Chardonnay (from Avize and Mesnil) done in the classic Roederer infusion style in which Pinot Noir is vinified on the skins and then blended with Chardonnay to complete the fermentation. About 25% of the lots were done in oak, while malolactic fermentation was blocked.
    SP9797 pts. - Wine Spectator - Nov 30, 2021
Like an orchestra that melds the voices of many components into one compelling song, this bright rosé offers precision balance, seamlessly knitting an expressive range of ripe nectarine and raspberry fruit, Marcona almond, blood orange peel and candied ginger flavors with racy acidity and saline-laced minerality. Plush and creamy on the lasting finish. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Drink now through 2036. 154 cases imported.

  4. Ramey Pedregal Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

    2013 / 750 ml. | Item#44268

    RP9595 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 1st Mar 2016
From Oakville, the 2013 Pedregal Vineyard is usually the top Cabernet Sauvignon. A classic nose of cedar wood, forest floor, blackcurrants and loamy earth notes is followed by a wine of stunning intensity, full-bodied potency, beautiful purity and length. There is plenty of tannin, but the extravagant richness seems to cover it up extremely well.
    VN9595 pts. - Vinous - Mar 2017
The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Pedregal Vineyard has turned out beautifully. It is also much more accessible young than I expected, despite its considerable size. Bright red stone fruit and pomegranate notes are pushed forward. There is plenty of tannin, but it is nearly buried by the sheer intensity of the fruit. There is plenty of stuffing and potential here.
    WE9595 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 3/1/2017
This wine was co-fermented with 15% Petit Verdot from the same rocky, hillside site. The two varieties marry seamlessly in the glass, exuding a distinct perfume of forest mushroom and violet. Though pronounced in structure the wine is also soft and round, with a dotting of dried herb and a considerable length of clove and dust. It’s rich, intense and memorable.
    SP9494 pts. - Wine Spectator - Oct 31, 2016
Shows impressive richness, size and grace. For all the depth and intensity, this features a supple, caressing element to the tannins, letting the earth, dried herb and dark berry flavors flow easily. The tannins linger in the background and then finish with a burst of licorice, spice, mocha and oak details. Best from 2019 through 2032. 615 cases made.

  7. Martinelli “Giuseppe & Luisa” Zinfandel

    2013 / 1.5 L. | Item#42328

    VN9393 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2015
One of the more overt, voluptuous Zinfandels in the range, the 2013 Giuseppe & Luisa blossoms in the glass with effortless grace. Dried dark cherries, plums, tobacco, leather and smoke. The flavors are dark, bold and racy, yet the 2013 retains its mid-weight personality and plenty of nuance. Layers of flavor build to the creamy, layered finish.
    SP9090 pts. - Wine Spectator - Jun 30, 2015
Bold and jammy, but surprisingly light-footed. Aromas of ripe raspberry and spiced cinnamon open to lush flavors of black cherry, grilled anise and pepper. Drink now through 2020. 664 cases made.

  8. Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage Rosé

    Extra Brut
    2013 / 750 ml. | Item#55031

    SP9494 pts. - Wine Spectator - Web only – 2021
Like a dancer, this graceful rosé is lithe and limber yet powered by a sculpted frame, in this case, well-honed acidity and a minerally underpinning. That frame and the satiny mousse support a delicate range of wild strawberry, peach skin and smoked almond flavors with accents of oyster shell, lemon thyme and Mandarin orange peel. Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. Disgorged September 2019. Drink now through 2031.
    JS9393 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Tuesday, April 6, 2021
Lots of strawberry, cherry and some rose petal on the nose and palate. It’s full, but not heavy. Very vinous and delicious. Lovely length, too. Fruity and vivid at the end. This is really excellent with real drinkability and intensity. Yet, it remains elegant. 35% chardonnay and 21% pinot meunier, the rest pinot noir. Drink now.
    RP9090 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 31st Mar 2021
Disgorged in September 2019 with five grams per liter dosage, Moët’s 2013 Extra Brut Grand Vintage Rosé offers up notes of red berries, mandarin orange, cherries and hazelnuts, complemented by subtle hints of spice. Medium to full-bodied, pillowy and seamless, it’s a sapid, elegantly vinous wine that contains an unusually high proportion of Chardonnay (35%) by the standards of this bottling.
