  1. La Rioja Alta Gran Reserva 904 Selección Especial

    2015 / 750 ml. | Item#60493

    JS9797 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Thursday, February 3, 2022
A perfumed nose of plums, mulberries, mushrooms, caramel, sweet tobacco and sweet spices. Full-bodied with velvety, fine tannins and lively acidity. Balanced and supple with a creamy texture. Delicate and precise with a long, polished finish. 90% tempranillo and 10% graciano. Drink or hold. (James Suckling)
    RP9595 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 14th Jul 2022
They used the words subtlety, elegance, finesse, delicacy and silk to define the 2015 Gran Reserva 904 Selección Especial, a blend of 90% Tempranillo from their vineyards in Villalba, Briñas and Rodezno with 10% Graciano from the Montecillo vineyard in Fuenmayor that was picked 23 days later than the Tempranillo. The grapes were sorted optically for the first time, and they fermented in stainless steel where the wine went through malolactic too. The wine was put in barrel in January 2016—used American oak barrels built by their own coopers—where it matured for four years, during which time it was racked every six months. 2015 was a healthy vintage with balanced ripeness that delivered wines with good aging potential. They thought the wine needed a little more time in bottle to polish those tannins and have decided to hold it and release the wine around March 2023; it will be marked Selección Especial, the first 904 to do so, as they have very high hopes for this year and believe it’s one of the finest vintages. They think it will develop the sophistication in the palate with a little more time and that is should achieve the silkiness that is the signature of 904. This is very 2015; I saw quite strong tannins in all the 2015 wines I tasted from Rioja Alta. There are some 150,000 bottles of this. (Luis Gutiérrez)

Vivid ruby. Expansive red and blue fruit preserve, tobacco, potpourri, spice and botanical herb aromas, with vanilla and smoky mineral notes emerging as the wine opens up. Sappy, penetrating and gently chewy on the palate, offering vibrant, mineral- and spice-accented black raspberry, bitter cherry and rose pastille flavors that deepen and turn sweeter on the back half. Shows sharp focus and floral lift on the impressively long, youthfully tannic finish, which leaves behind notes of candied blue fruits and spicecake. (Josh Raynolds)
    SP9292 pts. - Wine Spectator - Sep 30, 2021
This elegant, sanguine red offers supple layers of dried cherry, sandalwood, vanilla and Kalamata olive, supported by smooth tannins. Hints of leather, tobacco, mineral and anise echo on the finish. A balanced, traditional style red. Drink now through 2031. 12,500 cases made, 3,200 cases imported. (Gillian Sciaretta)

Enticing, with the frankly ripe profile of the vintage showing off in a display of slightly exotic plum and blackberry coulis flavors, while dark licorice, menthol and sassafras notes course through. Sweet spice accents sparkle through the finish, revealing a lingering hint of singed juniper. The long finish features rippling acidity. Best from 2022 through 2038. 2,300 cases made.

    2015 / 750 ml. gift box | Item#57689

    RP9494 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 23rd Sep 2021
The 2015 Brut Vintage Rosé is generous and demonstrative, bursting with aromas of peach, orange and pear mingled with hints of red berries, fresh bread and ginger. Full-bodied, layered and vinous, it’s rich and enveloping, its textural attack segueing into an ample, fleshy core that’s girdled by bright acids and enlivened by a pillowy mousse. Long and expansive, it’s more generous and gourmand than its racier 2014 predecessor, but just as good.
    SP9393 pts. - Wine Spectator - Nov 15, 2021
Pure and pretty notes of wild strawberry and nectarine fruit are enriched by hints of marzipan, chalk and pickled ginger in this graceful rosé Champagne. Lithe and expressive, with a fine, lively mousse, this shows lovely balance and a creamy, mineral-laced finish. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Drink now through 2031. 1,054 cases imported. 4. Château Lynch-Bages, Pauillac

    Grand Cru Classé
    2015 / 750 ml. | Item#47189

    VN9696 pts. - Vinous - Feb 2018
One of the finest Pauillacs of 2015, Lynch-Bages is rich, racy and voluptuous. A rush of dark red and purplish stone fruit, mint, new leather, spice and blood orange give the 2015 a very decidedly exotic character that is impossible to miss. Raspberry jam, mocha, new leather and expressive floral notes appear with time in the glass, rounding things out nicely. Even though the 2015 is quite forward and open at this stage, the wine has plenty of stuffing as well as the underlying structure to support many years of exceptional drinking. This is a stellar showing for Lynch-Bages.
    JS95+95–96 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Friday, April 1, 2016
Very classic styled Lynch with pretty ripe fruit and tannin balanced. Full body, firm and chewy tannins yet polished and refined. Alcohol and fruit balance are lower than other top years and give this wine freshness and energy.
    WE94+94–96 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 5/1/2016
This wine is sumptuous, ripe and generously fruity. It has a black core of dry plum skin and spice. The richness is topped by acidity, forming a contrast with the tannic core.
    SP9494 pts. - Wine Spectator - Mar 31, 2018
This has an ample core of plum, fig and blackberry compote flavors, underlined liberally with graphite and smoldering tobacco notes. Fleshy and focused, with ample grip through the juniper- and tar-accented finish. Well-built. Best from 2023 through 2038.
    RP93+93–95 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 27th Apr 2016
They 2015 Lynch Bages is a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot that was picked from 23 September until 2 October, matured in 75% new oak. There is an overwhelming sense of purity on the nose: perfumed, almost floral blackberry, wild strawberry, graphite and cedar scents, unmistakably Pauillac in style. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannin, a keen citrus thread that impart tension and ample freshness. Tasting this as the first wine of the day, it instantly refreshes the mouth and leaves it tingling with energy after it has departed. This is an excellent, top-grade Lynch Bages that deserves 8–10 years in bottle and then will offer three decade of pleasure, maybe more.

This graceful Champagne offers hints of smoke and toasted brioche that transition to patisserie apple and blackberry fruit, candied ginger and mandarin orange peel notes. 6. Bevan Cellars Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard

    Proprietary Red Wine
    2015 / 750 ml. | Item#46312

    RP96+96–100 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 28th Oct 2016
The 2015 Sugarloaf Mountain Proprietary Red that began as an equal-part blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot seems to be an equal follow-up to the perfect 2014. Incredible aromatics of spring flowers and blue and black fruits are followed by a long, deep, skyscraper-like wine with explosive fruit intensity, loads of glycerin and a wonderfully, fleshy, succulent mouthfeel, which is certainly a characteristic of the top 2015s. This should drink nicely for 15–20 years.
    VN9595 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2018
The 2015 Proprietary Red Wine Sugarloaf Mountain is laced with the essence of ripe red cherry, plum, sage, wild flowers and savory herbs are all beautifully delineated. Voluptuous and racy to the core, the 2015 is a classic Russell Bevan wine built on layers of flavor and textural intensity.
    SP9393 pts. - Wine Spectator - Web only – 2018

  7. Castello dei Rampolla d’Alceo

    2015 / 750 ml. | Item#51465

    VN9797 pts. - Vinous - Aug 2019
Dark, powerful and explosive, D’Alceo is one of the epic wines of 2015. Crème de cassis, plum, graphite, sage, lavender, and menthol rush out of the glass in a deep, beautifully resonant wine loaded with class. A wine with striking inner sweetness, depth and structure, the 2015 will thrill readers lucky enough to own it for a number of years to come. The 2015 was fermented in cement and then spent 14 months in oak. It is rich, sumptuous and simply irresistible.
    SP9696 pts. - Wine Spectator - Oct 31, 2020
Featuring concentrated flavors of blackberry, black currant, earth and leafy underbrush, this red is wrapped in a shroud of stiff tannins that upsets the balance a little. Nevertheless, this will come into its own with decanting, a little aging in bottle or paired with grilled steak or lamb. Delivers excellent intensity, energy and length. Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. Drink now through 2029. 925 cases made, 150 cases imported.
    JS9595 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Thursday, November 7, 2019
This is a big and self-assured red with lots of charcoal, vanilla, dried blackberries, barbecued meat and resin. Full-bodied and very chewy indeed with a ton of dark fruit and raw power. A delicate line of acidity pulls the brakes on. Drink in 2027!

  8. Château de Vaudieu Amiral G. Châteauneuf-du-Pape

    2015 / 750 ml. | Item#45901

    SP9696 pts. - Wine Spectator - Oct 31, 2017
Features a solid core of lightly steeped kirsch, black cherry and raspberry fruit, backed by singed juniper and apple wood notes that lend aromatic and textural contrast. Tobacco, shiso leaf and blood orange details score the finish, giving this a mouthwatering profile. Best from 2020 through 2040. 50 cases imported.
    RP95+95–97+ pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 28th Oct 2016
The 2015 Châteauneuf du Pape Amiral G. comes from a single parcel and is a huge wine that I suspect will be in the top one to two wines of the vintage. Giving up awesome notes of Provençal garrigue, strawberry jam, kirsch, incense and peppered meats, it has full-bodied richness, a broad, expansive feel on the palate and sweet tannin. I don’t think it has the density and structure of the 2010 (which is a monumental wine!), but this is a tour de force in Grenache that Châteauneuf du Pape lovers shouldn’t miss!
    VN93+93–95 pts. - Vinous - Mar 2017
Bright magenta. Powerful, mineral-laced raspberry, cherry and incense aromas pick up exotic suggestions of Asian spices and blood orange with air. Palate-staining red fruit liqueur and floral pastille flavors deepen and spread out with air while retaining vivacity and focus. Smoothly blends power and finesse; a zesty mineral quality adds cut to the strikingly long, floral-driven finish.

    2015 / 750 ml. | Item#45902

    SP9696 pts. - Wine Spectator - Oct 31, 2017
Very silky in feel, with beguiling rooibos tea, bergamot and blood orange accents sitting atop the large core of cassis and raspberry pâte de fruit. Everything is in lockstep through the finish, where buried minerality adds the final touch. Best from 2020 through 2035. 50 cases imported.
    RP94+94–96 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 28th Oct 2016
100% Grenache that’s aged all in demi-muids, the 2015 Châteauneuf du Pape L’Avenue is similar to the Amiral G., yet is slightly more tight, focused and concentrated. Coming from a tiny strip of vines located right next to Rayas, it offers sensational notes of strawberry jam, kirsch, mulled blackberries, graphite and exotic spices to go with full-bodied richness and depth, as well as fine, sweet tannin. Give bottles 2–3 years of cellaring, count yourself lucky, and drink them over the following 15 years or more.
    VN93+93–95 pts. - Vinous - Mar 2017
Lurid ruby. Ripe cherry and dark berries on the explosively perfumed nose, complicated by hints of smoky minerals, incense and potpourri. Palate-staining, spice-laced cherry and black raspberry flavors show impressive depth and clarity, and a spine of juicy acidity provides lift and focus. Finishes extremely long and sweet, delivering solid thrust, a hint of candied flowers and suave, harmonious tannins.

  10. Château Lafite-Rothschild

    2015 / 750 ml. | Item#57486

    WE100100 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 4/1/2018
This is a great vintage from Lafite. The profile is rich in feel, with a seriously firm tannic structure. Solid, complex and with great authority, this Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant wine, is impressively dense in dark-fruit tones. It will age for many years. Drink from 2027, although that would almost be too soon.
    JS9999 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Saturday, February 3, 2018
Lead and graphite are complimented by notes of blueberries and blackberries. Blackcurrants, too. Full-bodied and focused with very round and polished tannins. Elegance with power. Very classic nature for Lafite. Try in 2022.
    RP96+96+ pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 21st Feb 2018
The deep garnet-purple shaded 2015 Lafite Rothschild is blended of 91% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Merlot and was matured for 20 months in new oak barrels from Tonnellerie des Domaines (their own cooperage). It is still sporting a lot of cedar at this nascent stage with a vibrant core of black raspberries, red currants and crushed plums plus touches of cigar boxes, violets and underbrush with a waft of tilled loam. Medium-bodied and elegantly styled with wonderful freshness and depth, it is compellingly earthy/minerally in the mouth with a frame of seductively silky yet very firm tannins and culminating in a very long, racy and pure finish. Boasting spectacular finesse and packed with nuances, clearly, given some of the challenges here in 2015, this is a masterpiece of diligence in the vineyards, careful selection and very clever crafting — bravo!
    VN96+96+ pts. - Vinous - Feb 2018
Rich, powerful and enveloping, the 2015 Lafite-Rothschild is endowed with serious volume and textural resonance. Super-ripe plum, smoke and spice notes emerge in the glass, but only with great reluctance. Although the aromatics aren’t giving much at this point, the palate is much more expressive. The wine’s sheer power and authoritative tone result in an unusually dramatic Lafite. The 2015 is 91% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Merlot that spent 20 months in oak, which is a bit more than the norm.
    SP9595 pts. - Wine Spectator - Mar 31, 2018
Velvet- and silk-textured red currant, raspberry and black cherry compote notes glide through, supported by a perfectly embedded graphite spine, while enticing violet, black tea and alder accents add range through the finish. Very refined and sneakily long. Best from 2025 through 2045. 16,000 cases made.

  11. Château Mouton-Rothschild

    2015 / 750 ml. | Item#57491

    JS9999 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Saturday, February 3, 2018
Decadent and rich aromas of black cherries and plums with wet earth and sandalwood. Turns to dried mushrooms. Full-bodied, tight and closed with big, polished tannins, yet this is very closed and shy right now. Despite this, underneath it shows such depth and beauty. Tangy acidity. This is a combination of 2005 and 2009. Try it in 2024.
    RP9898 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 21st Feb 2018
The 2015 Mouton Rothschild is a blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc aged in 100% new oak with a mid-July 2017 bottling. Deep garnet-purple colored, this Mouton pulls off an incredibly impactful entrance, emerging from the glass with profound notes of blackberry preserves, plum pudding, crème de cassis and grilled meats, featuring perfectly accessorized accents of sandalwood, cinnamon stick and fenugreek with wafts of dried roses, unsmoked cigars and tilled soil. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is completely packed with rich, ripe black fruits sparked with blue and red fruit undertones and an incredible structure of very firm, very ripe tannins, with seamless freshness and an epically long, earth-laced finish. Possessing striking natural beauty framed by impeccable crafting, this 2015 is a total diva and well worth attention. Give it a good 7–8 years in bottle, at least, and drink it over the next 30+ years.
    WE9898 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 4/1/2018
This is a hugely opulent wine, packed withblack fruits, rich tannins and great concentration. It is a gorgeous wine that's full of potential, with the dense, dark core showing how well this wine will age. Drink this complex wine from 2027.
    VN97+97+ pts. - Vinous - Feb 2018
In 2015, Mouton Rothschild is fabulous. A big, towering wine, the 2015 makes its presence felt with layers of super-ripe dense fruit and striking textural resonance that carries all the way through to the finish. The 2015 is much more reticent from bottle than it was from barrel, which is not at all surprising, but is something readers should take into account. Even with all of its obvious intensity, the 2015 Mouton is a wine of classically inspired proportions. I can’t wait to taste it in another 15–20 years. The 2015 is 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc that spend 19 months in 100% new French oak.
    SP9696 pts. - Wine Spectator - Mar 31, 2018
Offers a prodigious core of steeped fig, black currant and blackberry compote flavors, enmeshed with notes of smoldering tobacco, charcoal and licorice. Broad, deep and long, with a deep foundation of graphite through the finish. Despite the heft, this manages to show off some purity too. Best from 2025 through 2045.

    JS97+97–98 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Friday, April 1, 2016
This shows what great selection did in the northern Mêdoc. Big surprise. Really excellent. Full body, chewy and rich tannins and loads of ripe fruit. Black currants, blueberries. It has hot and ripe tannins yet cool fruit.
    WE9696 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 4/1/2018
While this wine is rich, it has a classical demeanor, with fine tannins that support but never dominate the ripe black fruits. Full of juicy acidity, it offers black currants and some fine, firm tannins at the end. This will take some time to mature, and the wine will not be ready to drink before 2027.
    RP9595 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 21st Feb 2018
The 2015 Cos d’Estournel is composed of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23.5% Merlot and 1.5% Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet-purple in color, it offers up black currants, spice cake, warm cherries and plum preserves with touches of chargrill and forest floor. Medium-bodied and very firm with ripe, grainy tannins, it has a good core of earthy fruit, finishing with loads of layers and freshness.
    VN9494 pts. - Vinous - Feb 2018
Easily one of the most successful wine in Saint Estèphe in 2015, Cos d’Estournel is just gorgeous. Elements of exoticism appear on the bouquet, followed by generous black cherry, smoke, leather, licorice, menthol and mocha. Naturally, it will be many years before the 2015 is ready to offer a truly complete drinking experience, but it is superb even in the early going. The 2015 was bottled in July 2017.
    SP9292 pts. - Wine Spectator - Mar 31, 2018
This has a gently steeped core of currant, plum and black cherry fruit, infused with black tea, singed juniper and smoldering tobacco notes. 13. Dal Forno Romano Amarone della Valpolicella

    Monte Lodoletta
    2015 / 750 ml. | Item#58308

    VN9898 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2022
The 2015 Amarone della Valpolicella Monte Lodeoletta is deep and rich in the glass, slowly opening with autumnal spices, crushed violets, cocoa and custard. While dark and inward on the nose, it’s wonderfully open and finessed on the palate, with a pure mix of red berries and savory spices under an air of rosy inner florals. Through it all, tension builds as tannins saturate, leaving the palate drenched in primary concentration. The 2015 is incredibly long and in need of many years in the cellar to fully evolve. The balance of ripeness, structure and acid here creates a totally harmonious and classic expression. Do not pass up on this sleeping giant of an Amarone. In 2015, production was down by 45% due to hail, and the final wine finished at only one gram of residual sugar per liter.
    RP9797 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 16th Dec 2021
The ultimate statement wine from northern Italy is the 2015 Amarone della Valpolicella Monte Lodoletta. The Dal Forno family skipped over the 2014 vintage, and this sunny vintage is worth the wait. Monte Lodoletta is always incredibly high in terms of fruit weight and tannins, but this edition from 2015 appears more integrated in terms of concentration and softer in terms of structure; it’s not that the wine is more accessible. It will hold the line for years and decades to come and promises to age gracefully. This vintage is instead more fleshed out and open-knit. The bouquet peels back with thick layers of black fruit, spice, campfire embers and toasted coffee bean. It’s an expensive bottle for collectors, but you get lots of bang for your buck. A rich red, with good tension and energy, displaying tightly meshed flavors of blackberry preserves, fig cake, espresso crema and singed sage coiled around a core of dense but fine tannins. SP9797 pts. - Wine Spectator - Web only – 2017
This delivers a lush, enticing blast of cassis and raspberry and boysenberry preserve flavors, carried by a silky structure that lets the fruit play out at length, giving adequate time for black tea, singed apple wood, dried anise and fruitcake notes to fill in throughout. Dreamy. Grenache. Best from 2020 through 2040. 600 cases made.
    VN93+93–95 pts. - Vinous - Mar 2017
Brilliant violet. Sexy, spice- and mineral-accented aromas of ripe red berries and incense carry a suave floral topnote. Juicy, penetrating and concentrated yet lithe, displaying impressive power and lift to the raspberry liqueur, spicecake and lavender pastille flavors. Closes with resonating spiciness, silky, slow-building tannins and a strong echo of sappy red fruit. The marriage of depth and vivacity here is quite impressive.

The pure Grenache 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes (from 95-year-old vines) was raised in demi-muids. A lifted nose of raspberry liqueur leads into a full-bodied, creamy, supple wine that carries a bit of alcoholic warmth into the long, silky-textured finish.
