RP92+92–94 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 14th Jan 2021 Once again one of the highlights of the range, the 2019 Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru La Dominode (Domaine Louis Jadot) wafts from the glass with notes of cassis, plums, dark chocolate, loamy soil and spices. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and layered, it’s elegantly muscular, with fine depth and lively acids.VN90+90–92 pts. - Vinous - Dec 2020 The 2019 Savigny-lès-Beaune La Dominode 1er Cru was more closed than the Clos des Guettes on the nose, presenting darker fruit tinged with iodine and light iris petals. Fine delineation. The palate is well balanced with supple tannins, fine grip and edginess and a subtle white pepper and clove note toward the finish. This is a very well-crafted Savigny that should drink well for 10–15 years.
RP90+90+ pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 20th Jan 2022 The 2020 Savigny-lès-Beaune Vieilles Vignes represents another fine rendition of this remarkably consistent cuvée. Unfurling in the glass with notes of cherries, red berries, warm spices and sweet soil tones, it’s medium to full-bodied, lively and concentrated, with powdery tannins and a long, sapid finish. Given its structure and substance, it will amply reward at least a few years’ patience. (William Kelley)
VN9494 pts. - Vinous - Dec 2021 The 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet Vergers 1er Cru from vines located on the Saint-Aubin side on shallow soils, has wonderful mineralité on the nose, crushed rock filtering through the citrus fruit. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, taut and fresh, lively and spicy on the finish with veins of stem ginger. I love this… you will too. (Neal Martin)
Domaine des Héritiers Louis Jadot 2020 / 750 ml. | Item#58882
SP9696 pts. - Wine Spectator - May 31, 2023 Intense and tightly wound, this red is firmly structured and energetic, featuring cherry, strawberry, stone and spice flavors, with the acidity and tannins lending support for future evolution. All the components are there, this just needs a few years to knit together. Best from 2027 through 2045. 258 cases made, 129 cases imported. (Bruce Sanderson)VN94+94–96 pts. - Vinous - Dec 2021 The 2020 Corton-Pougets Grand Cru is often one of Jadot’s strongest cards amongst the Côte de Beaune reds and this is no different. It has a captivating bouquet with earthy red fruit, graphite, just a faint hint of menthol that emerges with time. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, lightly spiced with a dash of white pepper towards the sustained finish. It will require several years in bottle to show its best, but it will be worth waiting for. (Neal Martin)RP93+93–95 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 20th Jan 2022 The 2020 Corton-Pougets Grand Cru (Domaine des Héritiers Jadot) is excellent, mingling aromas of cherries and raspberries with notions of raw cocoa, orange rind, warm spices and smoke. Full-bodied, velvety and layered, it’s deep and concentrated, with powdery tannins, bright acids and a long, resonant finish. (William Kelley)
VN9090 pts. - Vinous - Dec 2021 The 2019 Pernand-Vergelesses Les Fichots 1er Cru has ample red cherry and raspberry fruit on the nose, touches of sous-bois and tobacco emerging with aeration. The palate is soft and fleshy, a fine bead of acidity, gaining depth towards the finish with a touch of black pepper lingering on the aftertaste. You could broach this now or drink over the next five years.
RP92+92–94 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 20th Jan 2022 The 2020 Beaune 1er Cru Grèves (Domaine Gagey) is especially successful this year, wafting from the glass with aromas of dark berry fruit, orange rind, peonies and rich spices. Medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, it’s deep and serious, with ripe tannins and lively acids. While it’s appropriately youthfully structured, it doesn’t display any of the austerity one sometimes finds in this particular bottling. (William Kelley)
RP89+89–91 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Dec 2015 The 2014 Savigny les Beaune 1Er Cru Clos des Guettes has more roundness on the nose than Jadot’s other 2014 Savignys — a little more plumpness with strawberry and Morello scents developing. The palate is fleshy on the entry with good weight, a fine line of acidity, fine tannin, very focused with a tensile, quite minerally finish that is very satisfying. This comes highly recommended.VN87+87–88 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2016 Healthy bright red. Sexy aromas of ripe cherry, raspberry, spices and underbrush. On the palate, the red berry and menthol flavors show a distinct soil-driven salinity and good texture. More tannic than the Savigny-lès-Beaune Les Lavières but has good supporting stuffing.
VN91+91–93 pts. - Vinous - Dec 2021 The 2020 Savigny-lès-Beaune Les Lavières 1er Cru is matured in 25% new oak. It has a very perfumed bouquet with pressed rose petals infusing the red berry fruit, hints of cranberry and bergamot emerging with time, fine mineralité too. The palate is medium-bodied with tart red cherries, crushed strawberry and light orange zest notes, the acidity lending real bite and energy towards the finish. Bon vin! (Neal Martin)
VN92+92–94 pts. - Vinous - Dec 2020 The 2019 Beaune Les Perrières 1er Cru comes from a mixture of vine ages, the oldest around 90 years old. It has an expressive, floral bouquet featuring touches of kirsch and orange blossom; this is one of the most opulent crus. The palate is well balanced with lively red berry fruit, the calcareous soils lending tension and linearity toward the almost Pommard-like finish.
RP90+90–92 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 4th Jan 2019 The 2017 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatières offers up notes of ripe citrus, apples and white flowers, followed by a medium-bodied, pure and attractively tensile palate. The vines here are still young and the wine doesn’t have the depth or concentration of the Combettes, but it’s an elegant middle-weight that should offer a broad drinking window.VN89+89–91 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2019 The 2017 Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatières 1er Cru has a very taut nose at first, only reluctantly unfurling to reveal green apple scents with touches of honeysuckle and linseed developing with time in the glass. The well-balanced palate is fresh on the entry with a fine bead of acidity, perhaps just needing to manifest more terroir expression and mineralité on the finish.
RP91+91–93 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 9th Jan 2020 The 2018 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatières was showing well, wafting from the glass with aromas of pear, citrus oil, nutmeg and warm pastry, followed by a medium to full-bodied, racy and nicely defined palate that’s long and intense.
RP91+91–93 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 14th Jan 2021 The 2019 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatières exhibits scents of pear, toasted almonds and vanilla pod. Medium to full-bodied, bright and chalky, it’s deep and concentrated, with a mouthwatering, delicately oak-inflected finish.VN90+90–92 pts. - Vinous - Dec 2020 The 2019 Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatières 1er Cru, a majority of the vines under 20 years old, was picked on 10 September. It is well-defined on the nose with light orange rind and very subtle muscat-like aromas, tight and benefitting from modest aeration. The palate is well balanced with a lightly spiced opening. There is a fine bead of acidity here given the warmth of the growing season, hints of praline and almond shaving towards the composed finish.
