RP97+97+ pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 18th Feb 2021 The 2015 San Leonardo pours forth with a beautiful velvety appearance and sultry dark garnet color. This wine shows a lot of life and dark fruit purity with black plum, blackberry, cassis and tarry prune. There is a delightful note of black pepper that is specific to this warm and sunny vintage. The fruit shows softer and richer concentration compared to past vintages and more pulpy density that gives this edition a bigger profile in terms of mouthfeel. Production is 75,000 bottles. San Leonardo is a wine made for long aging, but the nice thing about this vintage is that the bouquet remains quite accessible at this young age. Nevertheless, I’d still suggest keeping this bottle in your cellar so that it can calmly finish its evolution.VN9595 pts. - Vinous - Jul 2020 The 2015 San Leonardo is a classic in the making. The bouquet is wonderfully perfumed with peppery florals, mixing tart cherry and blueberry with white smoke, hints of graphite and shaved cedar. Silky textures race across a core of juicy acids and minerals, making for a ripe yet cool-toned and pleasurably tactile expression. Youthful tannins slowly make themselves known toward the close. Long, structured and spicy, the 2015 finishes with a crescendo of tart blue and black fruits, tapering off to notes of subtly sweet spice. As good as this is today, it will only get better over time. That said, it doesn’t appear that this is going to shut down anytime in the immediate future, so it’s certainly worth checking on a bottle or two before forgetting the rest in your cellar.

Full-bodied, rich, concentrated and oh-so-decadent, it completely fills the palate with seductive kirsch and spicy layers, supported by firm yet velvety tannins and seamless freshness, finishing with epic length. An assertively perfumed bouquet evokes fresh black and blue fruits, Moroccan spices, vanilla and smoky minerals, while a suave floral pastille accent builds in the glass. Deeply concentrated yet surprisingly lively on the palate, offering sweet black raspberry, boysenberry, spicecake and mocha flavors that unfold slowly, picking up licorice and vanilla notes on the back half. Shows outstanding clarity and thrust on a supple, strikingly long finish shaped by smooth, building tannins.

On the palate, it’s full-bodied, layered and almost voluptuous, with velvety, melting tannins that frame a succulent core of beautifully delineated fruit. The finish is long and fragrant. Infinitely seductive and exquisitely balanced, I struggle to remember an Andrew Will Champoux that was quite this delicious straight out of the gates, yet the wine clearly has the potential to evolve for two decades. The 2015 is a blend of 51% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Franc, 12% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot.JD9696 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - April 5, 2018 The 2015 Champoux is a beauty. Graphite, smoke, crushed rocks, spice and rose petal overtones give the 2015 Dr. Olmo its distinctive aromatic signatures. The 2015 finishes with remarkable tension and energy. RP9090 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 27th Apr 2016 The 2015 Estate White is an unoaked blend of 80% Muscat of Spina and 20% Vidiano. Dry, it comes in at just 12% alcohol. This has all that Muscat personality and a somewhat herbaceous nuance. A perfect summer white, it is fresh, friendly and crisp, with tons of flavor on the nice finish. This doesn’t have quite the roundness or depth of the "Skipper" white, also reviewed, but it has far more zest and character. They both do what they should rather well. This is a nice bargain if, of course, you like wines with some of that grass and zing. It should hold for a couple of years, at least, but the freshness here is a key selling point that you won’t likely want to lose. Drink it young for best results; it may not stay at peak for all of its useful life.WE8888 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 11/1/2016 This innovative Cretan producer hits the mark with this pretty, fragrant white blend including the island’s hallmark white, Vidiano. The nose is full of flowers, white peach fruit and rip citrus, while on the palate, an interplay of exotic fruit and minerality keep the wine focused but friendly. A great wine for spicy Indian cuisine or sushi.

Giving up awesome notes of Provençal garrigue, strawberry jam, kirsch, incense and peppered meats, it has full-bodied richness, a broad, expansive feel on the palate and sweet tannin. I don’t think it has the density and structure of the 2010 (which is a monumental wine!), but this is a tour de force in Grenache that Châteauneuf du Pape lovers shouldn’t miss!VN93+93–95 pts. - Vinous - Mar 2017 Bright magenta. Powerful, mineral-laced raspberry, cherry and incense aromas pick up exotic suggestions of Asian spices and blood orange with air. Palate-staining red fruit liqueur and floral pastille flavors deepen and spread out with air while retaining vivacity and focus. Smoothly blends power and finesse; a zesty mineral quality adds cut to the strikingly long, floral-driven finish.
VN97+97+ pts. - Vinous - Mar 2018 The 2015 Maya is surprisingly powerful and tightly wound. Time in the glass allows the tannins to relax just enough for the fruit to gradually emerge. Like all of the 2015s here, the Maya is still very primary in its expression of fruit. Even so, the wine’s heady, flamboyant personality is very much on display. Dark cherry, plum, mocha, licorice, lavender and exotic spice overtones gradually develop in the glass, but it will be years before the 2015 enters its prime.RP96+96–98 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 31st Oct 2017 Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Maya Proprietary Red Wine opens with sweet plums, spice box and kirsch notes with nuances of vanillin, cocoa powder, dried herbs and loam. Medium to full-bodied, soft, approachable and very sexy even at this youthful stage, it has a long, perfumed finish. This was tasted as a barrel sample.
VN8888 pts. - Vinous - Aug 2017 The 2015 Zinfandel Grist, from a rugged hillside site in Dry Creek, has plenty of character, but it also comes across as rustic and rough around the edges, especially in its tannin profile. There is no shortage of depth to the black cherry, plum and lavender flavors. It will be interesting to see if the winemaking team can coax a little more finesse from this site in future vintages.

Powerful, deep and explosive, the 2015 is endowed with serious richness and intensity in all of its dimensions. The 2015 is an especially dark, somber wine. As often happens with young Merlot-based wines, The Flight appears to be going through a somewhat closed phase at the moment. That won’t be an issue once the wine has a bit more time to come together. Time in the glass brings out hints of lavender, gravel, red cherry, mocha and espresso. The 2015 is going to be fascinating to follow for the next several decades.JD9595 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - January 31, 2019 While the Merlot from this estate has always gone under the name Second Flight, the wine was certainly not a second wine and always came from the same parcels (and more iron-rich soils) and is a very different wine compared to the Cabernet Sauvignon release. As such, they’ve opted (correctly I think) to change the name of the cuvée to The Flight. The 2015 The Flight is a beautiful wine and up with some of the best examples of Merlot out there, offering up tons of black cherries, currants, dried flowers, forest floor, and earthy aromas and flavors. Made in the same classic, elegant, vibrant style as the Cabernet, this full-bodied beauty is as silky and seamless as it gets, with perfect balance and a great finish. Loads of crème de cassis, blueberries, crushed violets, and spice all soar from this beauty, which is powerful and rich, yet perfectly balanced. At the same quality level as the 2013, it’s nevertheless in a much more approachable, flamboyant style. Drink it any time over the coming two decades or more. It’s a gorgeous, gorgeous wine. Kirsch, succulent red cherry, mint and spice add layers of nuance, but in this vintage it is the wine’s raciness and sweet, silky tannins that give the wine its forward, open-knit personality. Ripeness is pushed to the edge in the 2015, and yet all the elements flow together effortlessly.
