  1. Andrew Will Ciel du Cheval Vineyard

    2011 / 750 ml. | Item#40514

    ST93+93+? pts. - Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar - Nov/Dec 2014
Bright red-ruby. Sexy aromas of blackberry, violet and licorice, along with a musky soil-driven nuance. Rich, thick and sweet; wonderfully plush and seamless for a Bordeaux blend from this cool year, with a texture of liquid silk. Already very showy, this superb wine’s serious building tannins promise a slow evolution in bottle. A great expression of this outstanding vineyard, and seemingly even richer in the early going than the superb 2010 was a year ago.
    RP9393 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 25th Jun 2014
One of the top wines in the vintage, the 2011 Ciel du Cheval Vineyard (52% Cabernet Franc and 48% Merlot that spent 21 months in 35% new French oak) offers thrilling amounts of fruit and texture, with full-bodied richness, excellent mid-palate depth and sweet tannin. Loaded with both red and black currant fruit, dried flowers, damp earth and hints of meatiness, it can be consumed anytime over the coming 10–12 years.

  2. M. Chapoutier Le Pavillon Hermitage

    2011 / 750 ml. | Item#37910

    RP100100 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 29th Dec 2013
Even better and a prodigious effort that hits all my sweet spots, the 2011 Ermitage Le Pavillon comes from one of the top terroirs on Hermitage hill, the granite soils of the Les Bessards lieu-dit. Spectacularly perfumed, with raspberry, blackberry, licorice, toasted spices and assorted floral nuances, this full-bodied effort has massive depth and richness, no hard edges and masses of finely polished tannin that emerge on and frame the finish. It will be approachable at an earlier age than either the 2009 or 2010, yet should nevertheless have 2–3 decades of ultimate longevity.

  3. Bryant Family Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

    2011 / 750 ml. | Item#38251

    RP90+90–92 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Oct 2013
The softer, lighter 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Pritchard Hill reveals no hint of herbaceousness. It offers lots of red and black currants intertwined with hints of blueberry liquor, fewer floral notes, and attractive, medium-bodied, juicy fruit that provides allure as well as opulence. Enjoy it over the next 10–12 years.
    SP8989 pts. - Wine Spectator - Web only – 2014
Creamy textured from the start and gracefully built, with a subtle mix of mocha, black cherry, anise, cedar, dill and espresso notes, fanning out on the finish and ending with firm, fine-grained tannins. Drink now through 2022. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. 619 cases made.

  4. Château Coutet Barsac

    2011 / 750 ml. | Item#38340

    SP9797 pts. - Wine Spectator - Mar 31, 2014
White peach, pineapple, white ginger, orange zest and green fig notes are clear and racy, while green almond, brioche, pear and yellow apple details wait in reserve. Offers stunning range and polish, showing terrific energy and cut on the finish. This just makes you feel special when you drink it. An estate that has been rising steadily for a while now. Best from 2016 through 2035. 2,915 cases made.
    RP94+94–96 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 25th Apr 2012
To be honest, I expected the 2011 Coutet to come rushing out of the blocks like Doisy-Daene; however it is not playing that game. Instead, it is almost Zen-like upon first acquaintance before revealing its life-affirming mineral aromas and traces of apricot and white peach that remain very subtle and yet tangibly there. The palate is medium-bodied with exceptional balance. There is a real sense of synergy between component parts; nothing out of place, everything focused and succinctly composed, with its trademark sense of thrilling tension on the finish. This is sheer class and a classic Coutet to add to the canon of great recent vintages. Drink 2014–2035.
    ST93+93–96 pts. - Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar - Jul/Aug 2012
Pale yellow-gold. Pure, high-toned aromas of apricot, honey, marzipan and sweet spices. A firm core of acidity and strong spice character give verve and definition to the very sweet apricot, peach nectar and marzipan flavors. This very racy and delineated wine boasts excellent intensity to its juicy flavors and finishes very long, rich and spicy, with smooth if assertive tannins. Very Barsac in style.

    2011 / 750 ml. | Item#39431

    SP9494 pts. - Wine Spectator - Nov 15, 2014
A juicy, almost gutsy style, with a mix of raspberry coulis, plum paste and fig sauce notes, pushed from behind by lively briar and anise accents. The rich finish shows an ample wood component, presenting a singed juniper edge that adds range and texture. Drink now through 2022. 1,000 cases made.
    RP92+92–94 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 31st Aug 2014
Still in barrel, the 2011 Guigal St Joseph Vignes des Hospices is a gorgeous Syrah that has layers of creme de cassis, blackberry, licorice, toast, pepper and caramelized meat on both the nose and palate. Medium to full-bodied, with the forward, sexy feel of the vintage, it’s a pleasure-bent Saint Joseph to drink over the coming 12–15 years.

    2011 / 750 ml. | Item#40777

    RP9696 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Oct 2013
Another amazing effort is the 200-case cuvee of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Harbison Vineyard from Oakville, a vineyard sandwiched between Screaming Eagle and Rudd. It boasts a spectacular texture, a full-bodied mouthfeel, an inky/purple color and dense notes of chocolaty blackberry and black currant fruit intermixed with toast, charcoal and incense characteristics. This spectacular Cabernet can be drunk now or cellared for a decade or more.

  8. Pingus

    2011 / 750 ml. | Item#38013

    RP94+94–96 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Aug 2012
The 2011 Pingus has a gorgeous, pure black cherry, cassis and blueberry scented bouquet interlaced by orange blossom and apricot. The oak is beautifully assimilated into the aromatic profile. The palate is full-bodied with a decadent entry. The tannins are ripe and rounded, imparting great tension and focus. There is both dimension and grace to this formidable Pingus that should blossom once it finishes its gestation. This is an outstanding Ribera del Duero wine. Drink 2020–2035+.
    ST9494 pts. - Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar - Sep/Oct 2013
Inky purple. An exotic, expressive bouquet displays scents of blueberry, black cherry, violet, licorice and Asian spices, with a subtle smoky nuance in the background. Offers an array of densely packed black and blue fruit and floral flavors that are enlivened by bright minerality. Shows outstanding clarity and energy on the intense, lingering finish.

  9. Vigno by De Martino

    Vignadores de Carignan
    2011 / 750 ml. | Item#40797

    RP9595 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 25th Jun 2014
The 2011 Vigno Single Vineyard La Aguada is a field blend from an un-grafted, dry-farmed, head-pruned old vineyard called La Aguada in Sauzal, in the coastal mountain range in Maule, one of the closest Carignan plots to the Pacific Ocean in the region, which was planted with a mixture of approximately 90% Carignan and 10% other red varieties (Pais, Carmenere, Cinsault and Malbec) in 1955. It has a beautiful perfumed nose with elegant yet rustic touches of cured meats, tree bark, a touch of smoke, ripe cherries and subtle sweet spices with very good acidity, good tension, and delineated pure flavors. A yummy, supple, meaty, delicious bottle of wine, very drinkable and food-friendly. It’s drinking well now, but it should also age well. This is simply superb, elegant, fresh, balanced, a great expression of Carignan and the Maule. At this quality level this is a real bargain. Super! Drink now–2019.
    VN9292 pts. - Vinous - Jun 2015
Brilliant ruby. Aromas of fresh raspberry and cherry, with suave floral and mineral nuances adding vivacity. On the palate, sappy, palate-staining red and dark berry flavors put on weight and gain sweetness with air. A powerful yet lithe blend with excellent finishing clarity and fine-grained tannins sneaking in slowly to add grip.
    SP9090 pts. - Wine Spectator - Nov 15, 2014
A minerally and exuberantly fruity red, filled with expressive raspberry, cherry and crushed red plum flavors. Snappy midpalate, with a fresh and focused finish, showing plenty of red currant notes. Drink now through 2017. 600 cases made.
