  4. “’O Sole Mio” by Paul Lato

    Two Wolves Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc
    2021 / 750 ml. | Item#58452

    RP9595 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 8th Dec 2022
I can’t get enough of the 2021 Sauvignon Blanc O Sole Mio Two Wolves Vineyard from Paul Lato. It’s reminiscent of a Bordeaux Blanc with the aromatics turned way up: white peaches and kiwi are complemented by tones of acacia, fresh green herbs and beeswax. The medium-bodied palate is satiny and mouth coating with seamless acidity and generous flavor layers. It’s got the bass, mid and treble to drink well on its own or pair with a wide range of dishes at the table. This impressive Sauvignon Blanc was grown by Alecia Moore at Two Wolves in Santa Ynez from fruit planted in 2015. It was matured for eight months in concrete, stainless and neutral oak vessels, and 250 cases were made. (Erin Brooks)
    JD9595 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 8/29/2022
I love Paul’s Sauvignon Blanc, and his 2021 O Sole Mio Sauvignon Blanc Two Wolves Vineyard is a winner, offering a clean, crisp bouquet of white grapefruit, crushed citrus, white flowers, and honeyed minerality. Beautifully balanced, medium-bodied, and textured, with bright, vibrant acidity, it’s a brilliant effort that will be about as versatile as they come on the dinner table. I would drink bottles over the coming couple of years while the fruit is vibrant and fresh, yet I certainly wouldn’t be surprised to see this have an interesting evolution over the coming decade. (Jeb Dunnuck)
    VN9292 pts. - Vinous - Aug 2022
The 2021 Sauvignon Blanc Wolves Vineyard O Sole Mio Two is quite dense and powerful. Lemon confit, dried flower, chamomile and spice are dialed up. Readers will find a serious Sauvignon Blanc that will drink best at the dinner table. Vinification and aging in concrete, where the lees remain in suspension, give the wine much of its textural depth. (Antonio Galloni)

Dark plums, blackberries, blackcurrants, tar, graphite and cloves on the nose. Some praline and chocolate. It’s medium-bodied with rounded tannins. Creamy and dark-fruited. Drink or hold.

  6. Laya Red Blend

    2021 / 750 ml. | Item#59607

    RP9090 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 29th Apr 2022
The 2021 Laya was produced with 70% Garnacha Tintorera and 30% Monastrell, looking for a fruit-driven and easy to drink red with 14.5% alcohol, ripe fruit and a soft texture. 2021 was warmer than the average but with some cold spells, especially the one in January called Filomena that brought lots of snow, despite which, it was also a dry year and they got up to 40% less grapes. This fermented in stainless steel vats with neutral yeasts, with malolactic in barrel, where the wine matured for four months. This shows some toasty oak, but it might be because it’s too young and very recently bottled. But vintages seem to take oak differently; they believe this will show as integrated as the 2020. Time will tell. In any case, it’s a wine for the short term, and it’s very good for what it is. 360,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in March 2022. (Luis Gutiérrez)

  7. Domaines Ott Château de Selle Rosé

    2021 / 750 ml. | Item#58183

    VN9393 pts. - Vinous - Jul 2022
Limpid orange. A sharply focused, mineral-accented bouquet evokes fresh red berries and pit fruits, citrus pith and pungent flowers. Silky and penetrating on the palate, offering tangy redcurrant, pomegranate and blood orange flavors and a hint of honeysuckle. The floral note builds steadily through an impressively long, nervy finish that echoes the citrus and mineral notes. (Josh Raynolds)
    RP9191 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 11th Aug 2022
Call it a down year if you must, but the 2021 Cotes de Provence Rose Chateau de Selle remains one of the region’s top wines. Scents of tangerine, peach, crushed stone and lime zest mark the nose, while the medium-bodied palate is plump and juicy, finishing long and layered. The assemblage this year is 55% Grenache, 30% Cinsault, 10% Mourvèdre and 5% Syrah. (Joe Czerwinski)

  8. Wölffer Estate Rosé

    2021 / 750 ml. | Item#57418

    RP8888 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 12th May 2022
The 2021 Rosé (colloquially known as the Estate Rosé, although "Estate" is not on the label) is a blend of 53% Merlot, 19% Cabernet Franc, and 13% Chardonnay, plus Riesling, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir equally dividing the rest. It is near bone dry and comes in at 12.8% alcohol. This report shows a lot of erratic performances in pinks in the difficult 2021 vintage, but the stalwarts are basically getting it right. This is another fine performance in the “basic” Rosé this year, not missing a beat. It has elegance, persistence, good concentration, fine flavor and touch of complexity from the kitchen-sink blend. Under screw cap, this should also hold for a few years, but that’s not exactly the point here. As top pinks go, this is also very reasonably priced. Bargain hunters take note. This is never my favorite of the winery’s endless number of pinks, but it is arguably the best intersection of quality and price. For those who appreciate elegance, it is also one of the more understated. There were 31,500 cases produced.

    RP9292 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 22nd Jun 2023
Made with mostly Sangiovese and smaller percentages of Malvasia Nera, Cabernet Sauvignon, Montepulciano, Marselan and Alicante Bouschet, the 2021 A Quo offers intense fragrances that span from blackberry to dark rose—like one of those deep purple blooms you might see at a specialized florist. It is densely textured with a solid structure. A Quo is a wine of exceptional value, with 73,000 bottles on the market. (Monica Larner)

  10. Hudson Chardonnay

    2021 / 750 ml. | Item#59797

    SP9494 pts. - Wine Spectator - Jul 31, 2023
Impressive for the generous, plump flavors and the restraint and elegance of the candied ginger peel, briny preserved lemon, peppery white flower and buttery peach pastry flavors on a plush frame. Reveals a juicy thread of acidity. Drink now. 1,638 cases made. (MaryAnn Worobiec)
    RP92+92–94 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 31st Mar 2023
Tasted as a tank sample prior to bottling, the barrel-fermented 2021 Chardonnay Hudson Vineyard displays a full-bodied, rich, custardy mouthfeel that easily carries the bold flavors of pineapple, white peach and citrus. It’s a blend of several blocks and sees approximately 60% new French oak. (Joe Czerwinski)

  12. Dr. Konstantin Frank Dry Riesling

    2021 / 750 ml. | Item#55142

    JS9191 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Tuesday, August 9, 2022
A lot of floral delicacy and lemon and lime zest, but also some good white-peach fruit behind those high notes. Good depth on the mid-palate for the challenging vintage, with some wet-stone character at the long, crisp finish. Made from fruit grown on Kueka Lake and Seneca Lake. Drink or hold. Screw cap.
    WE9090 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 3/1/2023
Delicately crafted from one of the Finger Lakes’s best known producers, this opens with a lifted aromas of white peach, lemon-lime and florals, with a honeyed underbelly. The palate is dry with a lofty line of laser-like, lemony acidity and a slightly chalky texture. Crying out flavorful fish dishes like spicy fish tacos or Thai red curry. (Christina Pickard)
    RP8989 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 12th May 2022
The 2021 Dry Riesling comes in with eight grams per liter of residual sugar, 7.9 of total acidity and 12% alcohol. I haven’t been liking a lot of what I’m seeing from this vintage (to be sure, there haven’t been a lot of examples yet), but this seems awfully nice. Fresh, balanced and lively, this adds a juicy, tense finish, and the fruit occasionally asserts itself. It’s elegant in the mid-palate, dancing across the tongue. I’ll be interested to see if this can hold form or improve in a couple of years, but right now it is a fine choice at a nice price point. Of course, it is a serious Dry Riesling. If you like them sweeter or fruitier, this is not for you. (Mark Squires)

  13. Ktima Gerovassiliou Xinomavro Rosé Wine

    2021 / 750 ml. | Item#57229

    RP8888 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 31st Oct 2022
The 2021 Xinomavro Rosé is unoaked, dry and comes in at 13.4% alcohol. This is made from relatively young vines (five to seven years old). The heavy bottle makes it seem important, but the question is: Does the wine hold up? It’s pretty good. It is not a powerful pink, but it does have good concentration and presents a reasonable expression of Xinomavro. It’s even a little earthy. This is a fine choice for a pink to pair with foods. That’s probably its highest and best use. It’s less useful as the one you want to sip all by itself on a porch, but some will certainly like it that way. It is drinking great now, and it should be equally good in the summer of 2023. Beyond that, we’ll see, but it should hold a bit. (Mark Squires)

  14. Shafer Red Shoulder Ranch Chardonnay

    2021 / 750 ml. | Item#58426

    WE9595 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 3/1/2023
This full-bodied and beautifully balanced wine is powered by energized fruit acidity, giving it a lively mouthfeel, vivid green apple and lemon zest flavors and a snappy finish, while subtle oak notes remain secondary. Fermented in oak barrels and stainless barrels, and matured without maloactic conversion, the wine is super refreshing, clean and mouth-watering and should only get more complex and smooth with time. Best from 2024–2031. (Jim Gordon)
    RP9393 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 31st Mar 2023
Always an impressive bottling, the 2021 Chardonnay Red Shoulder Ranch was barrel fermented in a 75% new French oak and 25% stainless steel. Boasting fabulous aromas of lemon curd, apple, pear and pencil shavings, this non-malolactic Chardonnay is full-bodied, round and generous on the palate, then crisp and refreshing on the finish. If it’s not as complex or rich as the very best Chardonnays California has to offer, it’s not that far behind, and the pricing and availability (6000 cases produced) remain reasonable for a wine of this quality. RP9494 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Sep 2022
The white 2021 Principia Mathematica was produced with Xarel.lo from a 2.8-hectare vineyard planted 55 years ago and wants to show the variety and zone with no makeup. This is only 12.3% alcohol and comes through as fresh, sharp and floral, with citrus notes; it’s very drinkable and reflects a cool vintage with freshness like no vintage I remember. It’s pure, clean and symmetric, with a pH of 3.2 (after malolactic!). The finest Principia Mathematica ever! 8,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in April 2022. (Luis Gutiérrez)
