Contrary to popular belief, red wine doesn't start out red! While the grapes are fermenting in tanks, the grape skins, stems, and seeds are added to the mix, which gives the wine a dark ruby red color as well as imparting tannins and various other flavors.

The most common types of red wine are Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, and Malbec, but at WineMadeEasy.com we have a huge red wine list featuring an impressive selection, and our list is always growing. Our staff rates and reviews new wines every day to help you discover new gems. It is a difficult question: what is the best red wine? With our great prices, you can try a variety of new red wines and decide for yourself.

I love the expansive and expressive nose of wild blackberry with a touch of forest floor. Ripe, concentrated and fresh on the very focused palate. Very long finish with so much mineral freshness for the warm vintage. Excellent aging potential! Drink or hold.

Deep violet color. Displays candied red berry, smoky mineral, potpourri and star anise qualities on the incisive nose. Juicy and penetrating in the mouth, offering mineral-accented raspberry, bitter cherry and floral pastille flavors and a hint of botanical herbs. Finishes spicy and very long, with lingering florality and harmonious tannins. (Josh Raynolds)

The 2019 Gamay Noir El Dorado is another hugely appealing wine in this lineup. Sweet red cherry, plum, rose petal and spice give the 2019 striking inner sweetness and perfume. In this vintage, the El Dorado is a bit lighter in feel than it has been in the past. I imagine that is partly a reflection of the year and also the result of a reduction in carbonic maceration in the winemaking.

The 2020 Beaujolais-Villages Le Perréon is another fine success, wafting from the glass with beautifully pure aromas of cherries, raspberries, plums and peonies. Medium to full-bodied, ample and succulent, with supple tannins and an enveloping core of juicy fruit, it’s refreshing and gourmand. This head-turning bistro red is already drinking well.

  6. Vins Mélanie et Daniel Bouland Morgon Pré Jourdan

    2021 / 750 ml. | Item#59910

    RP9292 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 4th Aug 2022
One of the last cuvées to be bottled this year was the 2021 Morgon Pré Jourdan, an impressive effort redolent of raspberries, cherries, sweet spices, rose petals and vine smoke. Medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, it’s layered and charming, with attractive balance and a long, expansive finish. (William Kelley)

  10. Château Thivin Côte de Brouilly

    2021 / 750 ml. | Item#59233

    RP9292 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 4th Aug 2022
The 2021 Côte de Brouilly has turned out nicely, mingling aromas of cherries and berries with notions of burning embers and forest floor. Medium-bodied, fleshy and vibrant, with a lively core of fruit, powdery tannins and a sapid, saline finish, it marks a return to a more classically proportioned style after several richer, riper vintages. This tasting note refers to the cuvée imported in the United States, but readers in the rest of the world will find that the estate’s Sept Vignes bottling, which sees a light filtration, is very similar in profile. RP9191 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 22nd Sep 2022
The 2021 Fleurie from Clos de la Roilette is drinking well out of the gates, offering up pretty aromas of spiced plums, petals and orange rind, followed by a medium-bodied, supple and melting palate. Fleshy and fine-boned, it’s a pretty, demonstrative wine that will show at its best young. It’s bottled under Nomacorc. (William Kelley)

    2021 / 750 ml. | Item#58690

    RP9494 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 22nd Sep 2022
Fans of old-school Beaujolais will adore the 2021 Fleurie Cuvée Tardive from the Clos de la Roilette. Bursting with aromas of crunchy red berries, peonies, spices and plums, it’s medium-bodied, ample and enveloping, with succulent acids, melting tannins and a pretty, perfumed finish. Despite the challenges of the year, the Coudert family have produced a lovely classic, and it’s a wine that’s much more drinkable and vibrant than some of the recent banner vintages at this address. 14. Daniel Bouland Morgon Bellevue Sable

    2018 / 750 ml. | Item#52699

    RP93+93+ pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Aug 2019
The 2018 Morgon Bellevue Sable comes from younger vines, planted on Viala rootstock in sandy soils — as the “sable” newly added to its label makes clear. Revealing aromas of blackberries, smoked meats, cracked pepper and violets, it’s medium to full-bodied, ample and muscular, with powdery structuring tannin, juicy acids and a blockier, more reserved profile than the Chiroubles and Brouilly that preceded it. This will demand a couple of years’ patience before it shows all its cards.

The 2020 Morgon Bellevue Sable mingles aromas of cherries and wild plums with hints of violets and spices.
