Contrary to popular belief, red wine doesn't start out red! While the grapes are fermenting in tanks, the grape skins, stems, and seeds are added to the mix, which gives the wine a dark ruby red color as well as imparting tannins and various other flavors.
The most common types of red wine are Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, and Malbec, but at WineMadeEasy.com we have a huge red wine list featuring an impressive selection, and our list is always growing. Our staff rates and reviews new wines every day to help you discover new gems. It is a difficult question: what is the best red wine? With our great prices, you can try a variety of new red wines and decide for yourself.
WE9292 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 12/1/2021 This deep garnet-colored wine has aromas of strawberry, pomegranate and lilac. It is bright on entry, with velvety tannins and flavors of black cherry, blackberry, aniseed and vanilla that culminate in a soft, spicy finish.
WE9393 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 12/1/2021 Deep ruby to the eye, this wine offers a bouquet of cassis, raspberry preserves and thyme. Flavors of black currant, raspberry, anise, Mediterranean herbs and milk chocolate are set into a network of plush tannins that fill the palate and then wind down towards a smooth finish. WS9090 pts. - Wine & Spirits - 12/21 Areni has been thriving in southwestern Armenia for thousands of years, protected from phylloxera and other modern-day scourges by the region’s mountain peaks. Zorik Gharibian has been working on reviving areni’s reputation since he started his winery in 2010. This 2017, made partially in karasì (the local clay vessels), is darker than earlier vintages, with a chocolate richness underlining its cherry and plum fruit, yet it still has a hallmark zesty acidity that keeps it lively.
