Contrary to popular belief, red wine doesn't start out red! While the grapes are fermenting in tanks, the grape skins, stems, and seeds are added to the mix, which gives the wine a dark ruby red color as well as imparting tannins and various other flavors.

The most common types of red wine are Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, and Malbec, but at WineMadeEasy.com we have a huge red wine list featuring an impressive selection, and our list is always growing. Our staff rates and reviews new wines every day to help you discover new gems. It is a difficult question: what is the best red wine? With our great prices, you can try a variety of new red wines and decide for yourself.

  3. Château Poitevin Médoc

    Cru Bourgeois Supérieur
    2019 / 750 ml. | Item#58072

    VN9191 pts. - Vinous - Feb 2022
The 2019 Poitevin has a perfumed, floral bouquet with more red fruit than I observed from barrel, showing fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, very cohesive and harmonious. There’s just a touch of graphite on the finish. Stylish, top-notch Poitevin. (Neal Martin)
    RP9090 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 31st Oct 2022
The 2019 Poitevin is performing better than it did when I tasted it earlier this year, when I suspect it was still shut down after bottling. Opening in the glass with attractive aromas of orange zest, sweet red berries, petals and spices, it’s medium-bodied, lively and elegant, with lovely purity of fruit and nicely integrated structure. (William Kelley)

The pungent, licorice-scented fruit of this wine is blanketed in smoky scents. Firm and structured, it needs cellar time to integrate.

    Cru Bourgeois Supérieur
    2019 / 750 ml. | Item#57592

    VN9191 pts. - Vinous - Feb 2022
The 2019 Noaillac retains the superb bouquet from barrel, featuring blackberry and bilberry fruit, ripe and generous, while maintaining fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins. Classic in style, and a little fleshier than before, with black pepper and cedar on the finish. An excellent Noaillac. (Neal Martin)

  12. Luca Old Vine Malbec

    2019 / 750 ml. | Item#59669

    JS9595 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Thursday, February 3, 2022
Amazing depth and intensity to this old-vine malbec with blackberry and black-licorice character to the wine. Violets, too. It’s full and dense, yet remains energetic and long. Polished, refined tannins. A gorgeous, plush red. Drinkable now for its generosity, but let it mellow with a few years of bottle age. Better after 2024.
    VN9393 pts. - Vinous - Nov 2021
The 2019 Malbec Old Vine is a blend of grapes from La Consulta, Paraje Altamira, Pampa El Cepillo and Gualtallary, all in the Uco Valley. The 2019 was aged for 14 months in 35% new French barrels. Vivid purple in the glass. The nose is a combination of the best of the different regions. Fresh, ripe plum with hints of herb and sweet spices, violet and lavender aromas are present against a backdrop of cedar. Juicy with a velvety texture, the fine tannins are enhanced by the precise freshness. The tacky finish lingers at length. This is an elegant, voluminous wine; the 2019 is an accomplished approach to the variety. An upgrade for lovers of the Mendoza Malbec. (Joaquín Hidalgo)
    SP9393 pts. - Wine Spectator - Nov 30, 2021
Unctuous and fine-grained flavors of dark currant and ripe cherry are supported by medium-grained tannins in this red, which is creamy midpalate, with concentrated chocolate mousse notes on the finish. Drink now through 2026. 13,000 cases made, 7,000 cases imported. (Kim Marcus)
    RP9292 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 31st Mar 2021
The 2019 Old Vine Malbec comes from old ungrafted vineyards irrigated by traditional flood irrigation in the Uco Valley in Mendoza. It’s a floral, juicy and varietal Malbec with nicely integrated oak and a lively palate with pungent flavors, vibrant acidity and fine and round tannins. 180,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in May 2020. (Luis Gutiérrez)

  15. Château Tour Saint Christophe

    Saint-Émilion Grand Cru
    2020 / 750 ml. | Item#60548

    JD9696 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 3/29/2023
The 2020 Château Tour Saint Christophe showed spectacularly well, and based off past vintages, this shouldn’t surprise anyone. Based on 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc raised in 40% new barrels (the balance is in second- and third-fill oak), it offers a full-bodied, incredibly pure, balanced style revealing subtle oak, terrific darker, almost blue fruits, lots of chocolate, leafy herb and mineral nuances, and gorgeous tannins. It’s worth pointing out that this will be the last vintage made by the talented Jérôme Aguirre. This terrific Saint-Emilion will evolve for two decades. (Jeb Dunnuck)
    JS9696 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Sunday, May 14, 2023
So much black fruit, black walnuts, blueberries, wet earth, black truffles and some graphite. Medium to full body with lots of tension and focus. It runs very long with a salty undertone and some bitter, burnt lemon. Yet ever so subtle and refined. Drink after 2027. (James Suckling)
    RP9393 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 6th Apr 2023
The 2020 Tour Saint Christophe opens in the glass with aromas of sweet cherries, raspberries and petals, followed by a medium to full-bodied, lively and pure palate that’s rich and fleshy, with generously extracted tannins asserting themselves on the finish. It’s a modern, crowd-pleasing wine from clay-rich soils opposite Troplong Mondot in the commune Saint Christophe des Bardes. (William Kelley)
    VN9393 pts. - Vinous - Feb 2023
The 2020 Tour Saint Christophe has grown into an elegant, sophisticated Saint-Émilion. Red/purplish berry fruit, hard candy, mint, blood orange, pomegranate and spice all run through the 2020. Medium in body and polished, the 2020 has maybe a bit less explosive intensity than recent previous years, but plenty of class. Today, I find Tour Saint Christophe a bit subdued. (Antonio Galloni)
