Contrary to popular belief, red wine doesn't start out red! While the grapes are fermenting in tanks, the grape skins, stems, and seeds are added to the mix, which gives the wine a dark ruby red color as well as imparting tannins and various other flavors.

The most common types of red wine are Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, and Malbec, but at WineMadeEasy.com we have a huge red wine list featuring an impressive selection, and our list is always growing. Our staff rates and reviews new wines every day to help you discover new gems. It is a difficult question: what is the best red wine? With our great prices, you can try a variety of new red wines and decide for yourself.

    VN9090 pts. - Vinous - Dec 2022
The 2021 Pelaverga Basadone is vibrant and fruity, with plenty of charm and tons of energy. Crushed red berry fruit, white pepper, smoke, licorice and dried herbs are beautifully delineated. Bright acids give this deceptively light-bodied red tons of energy. (Antonio Galloni)

    2021 / 750 ml. | Item#58601

    JD9191 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 5/4/2023
The pale ruby 2021 Verduno Pelaverga has a brilliant reflective appearance and is lifted with notes of white pepper, wild strawberry, and wet stone. Medium-bodied, with fresh, attractive fruit through the palate as well as fine tannins, this approachable and easy-drinking red is perfectly served with a light chill. Drink over the next few years. VN8989 pts. - Vinous - Dec 2022
The 2021 Pelaverga Verduno is classy and elegant to the core. Crushed red berry fruit, sweet floral notes and a kick of citrus are all laced together. Burlotto’s silky, polished Pelaverga is about as good as it gets for this quirky variety. Aging in steel helped preserve quite a bit of freshness. (Antonio Galloni)
