Contrary to popular belief, red wine doesn't start out red! While the grapes are fermenting in tanks, the grape skins, stems, and seeds are added to the mix, which gives the wine a dark ruby red color as well as imparting tannins and various other flavors.

The most common types of red wine are Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, and Malbec, but at WineMadeEasy.com we have a huge red wine list featuring an impressive selection, and our list is always growing. Our staff rates and reviews new wines every day to help you discover new gems. It is a difficult question: what is the best red wine? With our great prices, you can try a variety of new red wines and decide for yourself.

  1. Marqués de Casa Concha Pinot Noir

    2019 / 750 ml. | Item#59883

The 2019 Pinot Noir Marques de Casa Concha from the San Julián vineyard in Limarí, 15 miles from the sea, planted in alluvial red clay soil, spent 11 months in French oak barrels. A medium-hued red, it offers crystal-clear aromas of sour cherry and earth and a bare-bones palate with a fine, silky texture and a slightly saline flavor.

The 2019 Marques de Casa Concha Pinot Noir was produced with fruit from vines planted in Limarí between 2006 and 2009. It’s ripe but has kept very good acidity and comes through as balanced and fresh while it’s also powerful. The oak feels more and more integrated, as the wine matured in French oak barrels, 15% of them new, for 11 months. 54,000 bottles were filled in April 2020.

Piquant red-fruit aromas of cranberry, currant and raspberry include a note of iodine and a hint of dried meat. This is a lively style of Pinot that’s medium in weight. Spicy oak notes accent plum and raspberry flavors in front of a finish propelled by healthy acidity. (Michael Schachner)
