Contrary to popular belief, red wine doesn't start out red! While the grapes are fermenting in tanks, the grape skins, stems, and seeds are added to the mix, which gives the wine a dark ruby red color as well as imparting tannins and various other flavors.

The most common types of red wine are Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, and Malbec, but at WineMadeEasy.com we have a huge red wine list featuring an impressive selection, and our list is always growing. Our staff rates and reviews new wines every day to help you discover new gems. It is a difficult question: what is the best red wine? With our great prices, you can try a variety of new red wines and decide for yourself.

Rich and fruity, but also deep, with ripe blackberries, figs, spice and dark chocolate on the nose. Just a hint of dried fruit here. This is restrainedly generous with a medium to full body, showing creamy tannins and a flavorful finish. A very solid monastrell. From organically grown grapes. Vegan. Drink now.

  7. Casa Castillo Vino de Finca

    2018 / 750 ml. | Item#53972

    RP9393 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 10th Sep 2020
The 2018 Vino de Finca is a blend of Monastrell with 25% Garnacha from a cooler, more continental vintage. The Monastrell is from 20- to 30-year-old vines, and the 8-year-old Garnacha is from limestone-rich soils. It fermented in the underground stone pools with 25% to 30% full clusters and indigenous yeasts and matured in 5,000-liter foudres and 500-liter barrels for 12 months. As all the Garnacha plots are now in production, there has been a higher percentage of it in the blend since 2017. The selection of plots used for this wine results in something more serious, more austere and with more depth than the entry-level Casa Castillo. He doesn’t use Syrah in this blend because he thinks without Syrah it has a more Mediterranean profile, with aromatic herbs, thyme, rosemary and lavender and the slightly more rustic notes of the Monastrell. 53,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in December 2019. (Luis Gutiérrez)

  8. Carlisle Radiant Ridge Vineyard Mourvèdre

    2019 / 750 ml. | Item#59050

    JD9494 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 8/2/2022
Savory with dried herbs and pine, the 2019 Mouvèdre Radiant Ridge Vineyard is introspective, with black fruit and freshly turned soil, while the palate is stony and mineral. It is full, but surprisingly more focused than the aromatics might suggest. Much more restrained and with a gorgeous texture, this is an incredible expression that is worth seeking out and drinking over the next 15 years. (Audrey Frick)
    VN9393 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2022
The 2019 Mourvèdre Radiant Ridge Vineyard is super-expressive right out of the gate. Inky blue/purplish fruit, lavender, spice, menthol and licorice are front and center. Dried herbs and a kick of black pepper add an exotic flair to the finish. This mid-weight, fleshy Mourvèdre is a real charmer. Best of all, it should drink well with minimal cellaring. The Mourvèdre is one of the highlights in this range from Mike Officer and Carlisle. (Antonio Galloni)

  9. Casa Castillo Las Gravas

    2020 / 750 ml. | Item#58762

    RP9898 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 29th Apr 2022
The phenomenal 2020 Las Gravas was produced with 92% Monastrell from 30- to 40-year-old vines on north-facing gravel soils (hence its name) complemented with 8% Garnacha. It fermented with 30% full clusters and indigenous yeasts in underground stone lagares and matured in a combination of 500-liter barrel and 5,000-liter foudres for 16 months. It has classical parameters, 14.5% alcohol, a pH of 3.47 and 4.87 grams of acidity per liter. The wine is super perfumed and floral, really showy, elegant, nuanced and refined, with the notes of pine needles and wet soil much subtler than in the 2019. There is an ethereal character to the 2020s that I haven’t found in any previous vintage here, but at the same time, the wines are very mineral and have lots of energy and light. There is precision, cleanliness, definition and elegance like I hadn’t seen before and refined tannins with a pungent mineral sensation in the textured finish. This is an incredible wine for the price asked. 35,500 bottles produced. There was a single bottling in February 2022. (Luis Gutiérrez)

  10. Domaine La Tour Vieille Collioure Puig Ambeille

    2017 / 750 ml. | Item#53279

    RP9090 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Apr 2019
Mainly Mourvèdre, the 2017 Collioure Puig Ambeille also includes 25% Grenache and 5% Syrah. Notes of cola-like spice and Mediterranean herbs lead the way, backed by ample amounts of dark berry fruit. Medium to full-bodied, it’s a nicely complex and balanced red from a region that can sometimes yield wines that are too big and clumsy.

  12. Force Majeure Parvata

    2014 / 750 ml. | Item#45687

    RP9696 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Jun 2017
Checking in as a blend of 40% Mourvedre, 35% Syrah and the balance Grenache, the 2014 Parvata (this is a Sanskrit word meaning rocks and stones) dishes up awesome notes of blueberries, liquid violets, barbecued meats and peppery spice to go with a full-bodied and rich yet still tight and focused style on the palate. This is a beautiful, incredibly pure GSM blend from winemaker Todd Alexander that will benefit from a year or two in bottle and keep for a decade. It’s one of the best GSM blends coming out of Washington. Give it a decant if drinking anytime soon.

  13. L’Aventure Côte à Côte Estate

    2013 / 750 ml. | Item#42269

    RP9494 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 27th Aug 2015
A blend of 40% Mourvedre, 30% Grenache and 30% Syrah, the 2013 Cote a Cote is a classic Rhone blend from Paso that has lots of blackberry, cassis, ground pepper and damp earth aromatics, full-bodied richness and both good acidity and tannic grip. Showing more complex floral characteristics and chalky minerality with time in the glass, it can be enjoyed now or cellared for a decade.
    VN9292 pts. - Vinous - Sep 2015
Opaque ruby. A complex, highly perfumed bouquet evokes ripe red fruits, smoky Indian spices, vanilla and minerals. Concentrated but lithe on the palate, offering intense raspberry and bitter cherry flavors underscored by a suave floral note. The spicy quality comes back emphatically on a long, sweet finish framed by slow-building, harmonious tannins.

    2019 / 750 ml. | Item#57441

    JS9191 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Thursday, October 14, 2021
Blackberries with some toffee and dark-chocolate undertones. Beautiful, fruity palate with clean and bright fruit. Very fine tannins and a fresh finish. Yummy to drink.
    RP8888 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 29th Apr 2022
The 2019 MO Salinas is a Monastrell produced in a varietal and fruit-driven way with high ripeness (14.7% alcohol) and good freshness. It matured in 225-liter French oak barrels for four months. It’s very fruit-driven with notes of candied raspberries and prunes, juicy and soft. It’s straightforward, chewy and with integrated oak and some tannins. 60,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in August 2021.
