The red blend wines highlight the most desirable features from their component grapes. Using several different varietals, winemakers are able to make a wine that's more interesting and complex than that made by a single varietal.
If you'd like to taste some of the best red blend wines from around the world, you've come to the right place! WineMadeEasy.com's selection of red blend wines is second to none, and you're sure to find your new favorite here. Cheers to delicious red blends!
RP9292 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 15th Mar 2022 Deep ruby-purple, the 2020 Pessimist is a blend of 62% Petite Sirah, 18% Syrah, 18% Zinfandel and 2% Lagrein, matured for 10 months in 60% new French oak. It’s scented of black cherries with touches of purple flowers, graphite and grilled meats, and the medium-bodied palate is grainy and fresh with a long, perfumed finish. This offers fantastic quality for the price. (Erin Brooks)JD9292 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 9/30/2021 Always a Petite Sirah-dominated wine, the 2020 Pessimist sports an inky purple color as well as a great, full-bodied style carrying wonderful blue fruits, spring flowers, spice, and vanilla aromas and flavors. It’s textured, has ripe tannins, loads of fruit, and is about as sexy and gulpable as they come. It’s one heck of a steakhouse red to enjoy over the coming 2–4 years. (Jeb Dunnuck)VN9191 pts. - Vinous - Jul 2022 Dark purple. Oak-spiced black and blue fruit, mocha and floral qualities on the nose. Broad and supple in texture, offering pliant blackberry, kirsch, vanilla and salty olive flavors that deepen steadily through the midpalate. Finishes long, smooth and spicy, with even tannins and resonating smokiness. 50% new French oak. (Josh Raynolds)
WE9191 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 9/1/2022 This bottling always overdelivers. Elderberry, black plum, scorched earth, crushed rock and tar aromas show on the nose, while the palate proves heavy but well-structured. Flavors of roasted blackberry, toasted sage and asphalt complete the picture. (Matt Kettmann)
WS9090 pts. - Wine & Spirits - 12/22 Considering this is mostly a syrah–petite sirah blend (with some grenache and mourvedre), it’s surprisingly lifted, its flavors of cherries and red plums carrying plenty of spicy oak. Serve with a light chill for chicken sausages.
