Shop Our Selection of Napa Valley Wines

Napa Valley wines are without question the most famous and important wines from the United States, even though the Napa Valley wine region is actually one of the smallest in the world. Some of the most iconic and recognizable Napa Valley Wineries include Beaulieu Vineyards, Beringer, Cliff Lede, Dominus, Hess, Robert Mondavi Winery, Opus One, and Sterling.

While Napa Valley itself is an appellation there are also sixteen sub-appellations or American Viticultural Areas (AVAs). The climate and terrain of these sub-appellations — including Los Carneros, St. Helena, Stags Leap District, and others — are actually quite diverse, ranging from rugged mountains to cooler coastal influences, and many nuances in-between.

Most Napa wine is made with premium varietals such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, and Zinfandel

  2. Shafer Relentless

    2018 / 750 ml. | Item#58463

    JS9797 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Tuesday, August 9, 2022
A young wine with superb depth and polish that shows great depth and brightness. Full and focused with blue fruit and long, fine tannins that are compact and energetic. Slate. Graphite. Sophisticated and curated. So beautiful to try now, but be patient and open after 2026.
    JD96+96–98 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 1/27/2021
A blend of 94% Syrah and 6% Petite Sirah, the 2018 Relentless looks to be just about sensational, offering a dense purple color as well as rich, loaded notes of blackberries, currants, smoked meats, peppery spice, and violets. Reminding me of a great Cornas on steroids with its gamy, exotic character paired with beautiful richness, it has fabulous purity, ripe, polished tannins, and a great finish. This will undoubtedly be a great vintage for this cuvée, and my money is on it being one of the best yet. (Jeb Dunnuck)
    VN9595 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2022
The 2018 Relentless is silky and polished. In 2018 the blend includes a relatively high percentage of Petit Syrah, but the wine does not taste like that at all. Ripe red/purplish berry fruit, lavender, rose petal, black pepper and sweet spice are laced into the super-expressive finish. This might be the most refined Relentless ever. (Antonio Galloni)
    SP9494 pts. - Wine Spectator - Apr 30, 2022
A compelling blend that marries deep structure with richness and polish. Features accents of black cherry, grilled anise and smoked pepper, with refined tannins on the finish. Syrah and Petite Sirah. Drink now through 2032. 3,300 cases made. (Tim Fish)
    RP92+92–94 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 27th Nov 2019
Deep purple-black colored, the 2018 Relentless is a barrel-sample blend of 90% Syrah and 10% Petite Sirah. It sings of crushed black cherries, mulberries and black plums plus cracked pepper, garrigue, lavender, Indian spices and licorice hints. The palate is full-bodied, firm, spicy and energetic with rounded tannins and a long, peppery finish. (Lisa Perrotti-Brown)

    2019 / 750 ml. | Item#56707

    JS9393 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Sunday, December 5, 2021
Perfumed cabernet with aromas of blackcurrants, blackberries, raspberries, thyme, violets, crushed stones and cloves. Full-bodied with firm, grainy tannins. Structured and concentrated. Better after 2023.
    RP92+92–94 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 18th Mar 2021
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot and 6% Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet-purple in color, it charges out of the gate with loads of blueberry preserves and stewed black plums notes on the nose with faint suggestions of redcurrant jelly and rose hip tea plus a waft of wild sage. Full-bodied and jam-packed with ripe black and blue fruit, it has a soft texture and perfumed finish. 10,000 cases are due to be made. (Lisa Perrotti-Brown)
    VN9292 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2022
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) is polished, nuanced and so delicious. Silky and floral, with vibrant red-toned fruit, the Napa Valley Cabernet delivers the goods. It is a positively stellar wine from Amici. I loved it. (Antonio Galloni)
    JD9292 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 3/10/2022
Made with the goal of great Napa Cabernet at $50 bucks, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley succeeds admirably, offering gorgeous cassis, violet, and chocolaty aromatics as well as medium to full-bodied richness, a balanced, layered mouthfeel, and silky tannins. It competes with wines at three times the cost. The blend is 88% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% each of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, aged 20 months in 75% new barrels. (Jeb Dunnuck)

  4. Amici Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

    2019 / 750 ml. | Item#57025

    JD9696 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 3/10/2022
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve Napa Valley comes from a mix of all the single vineyards. Readers should never overlook this type of wine, as the ability to blend from multiple sites gives winemakers incredible flexibility, and these wines can represent smoking values. Full-bodied aromas and flavors of currants, chocolate, lead pencil, and graphite emerge from this beauty, and it’s ripe, mouth-filling and balanced, with a great texture. It’s in the running for the best Napa Cabernet Sauvignon at the price point. (Jeb Dunnuck)
    RP94+94–96 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 18th Mar 2021
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is composed of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petit Verdot and 6% Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet-purple in color, it prances out of the glass with showy notes of warm cassis, baked black berries, Black Forest cake and menthol, plus suggestions of cardamom and licorice. The medium to full-bodied palate is refreshing and elegantly styled with bags of juicy, expressive black fruits and a satisfyingly savory finish. 1,600 cases are due to be made.
    VN9494 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2022
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is an outrageously beautiful wine. As I have written here before, the Reserve more than holds its own next to the vineyard designates. I adore the Reserve for its opulence, grip and intensity. Blackberry jam, chocolate, licorice, espresso, lavender and dried herbs build over time, but the Reserve is a wine to admire for its completeness. And, it is a steal in the world of high-end Napa Valley Cabernets.

  5. Bevan Cellars Ontogeny

    Red Wine
    2019 / 750 ml. | Item#59013

    JD9898 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 3/10/2022
A blend put together by Bevan from the single vineyards, the Ontogeny cuvée is year-in, year-out one of the greatest values in Cabernet Sauvignon. His 2019 Ontogeny is no exception, revealing a dense purple hue as well as rock star notes of crème de cassis, violets, tobacco leaf, and chocolate. It’s a big, classic Bevan wine and has remarkable purity, silky, polished tannins, and not a hard edge to be found. Don’t miss it! (Jeb Dunnuck)
    RP9595 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 31st May 2022
The bargain in the Bevan lineup is the 2019 Ontogeny Red Wine, which is a Cabernet Sauvignon-based blend that includes small amounts of Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Featuring lovely notes of ripe cherries, celery seed, cinnamon and cedar, it’s complex and full-bodied, with an attractive silky-velvety texture and a long, red-fruited finish. Approachable now, it should still be drinking well for close to two decades. (Joe Czerwinski)
    VN9494 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2022
The 2019 Ontogeny is another tremendous wine in this range. In fact, the 2019 is one of the very best Ontogenys I can remember tasting. Rich, sumptuous and unapologetically brash, the 2019 is a total rock-star. A touch of Malbec adds exuberance to the fruit, as if these wines needed any more richness. For readers who want to know what the fuss is about Bevan, Ontogeny is the place to start! (Antonio Galloni)

  6. Beringer Private Reserve Chardonnay

    2020 / 750 ml. | Item#58805

    RP9393 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 31st May 2022
Although not labeled as such, Beringer’s Private Reserve Chardonnay has been sourced for decades from the Gamble Ranch in Oakville. Planted around 1976 to Clone 4, the grapes are picked ripe and barrel fermented at relatively warm temperatures to build mouthfeel. The 2020 Chardonnay Private Reserve (along with all the other white varieties) was picked prior to any risk of smoke taint. Marked by scents of mango, guava and pineapple, it doesn’t come across as that oaky, despite being barrel fermented and aged in approximately 80% new French oak. It’s full-bodied and slightly buttery, with an appealing custardy richness and a long finish. (Joe Czerwinski)
    SP9292 pts. - Wine Spectator - Jul 31, 2022
Peach, apricot and mango flavors are juicy and fleshy at the core of this white, with honeyed overtones. Salted butter, spice and toasted pastry notes emerge on the finish, as does a touch of dried ginger. Drink now. 8,714 cases made. (MaryAnn Worobiec)
    VN9191 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2022
The 2020 Chardonnay Private Reserve is creamy, open-knit and expressive. Lemon confit, spice, vanillin and light tropical notes all grace the 2020. As always, the Private Reserve is done in a richer, creamier style than the Luminus Chardonnay. That approach worked well in 2020. (Antonio Galloni)

  7. Cade Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain

    2019 / 750 ml. | Item#60563

    VN9595 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2022
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is a huge, opulent wine. A blast of inky dark fruit, chocolate, spice, plum and menthol gives the 2019 its racy, extroverted personality. The Estate is a typical wine from Cade that balances Howell Mountain intensity with plenty of Napa Valley lushness. The 2019 is sure to be a crowd pleaser. (Antonio Galloni)
    JD9595 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 5/4/2022
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is even better, with a stunning nose of black and blue fruits as well as iron, black olive tapenade, and subtle herbal nuances. Pure 2019 goodness on the palate, it’s full-bodied, has ripe, polished tannins, a great mid-palate, and one heck of a finish. It’s not for those looking for old school Claret, but it brings beautiful richness and depth and will shine for at least 10–12 years as well. (Jeb Dunnuck)
    RP94+94+ pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Nov 2021
The 2019 Cade Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is blended of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 3% Malbec. Deep garnet-purple in color, it charges out of the glass with vibrant black cherry preserves, wild blueberries and mulberries scents, giving way to a core of cassis and star anise plus a waft of chocolate box. Full-bodied, concentrated and packed with bright black fruits, it has a fine-grained texture and long, energetic finish. (Lisa Perrotti-Brown)
    SP9393 pts. - Wine Spectator - Apr 30, 2023

    2018 / 750 ml. | Item#56491

    RP9191 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 31st May 2022
There are an impressive 20,000 cases of the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley, a blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon with 8% Merlot, 2% each Malbec and Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc, aged in 40% new oak. About half of the fruit is sourced from estate (organically grown) vineyards, while the balance is purchased. Lovely herb-inflected cassis and hints of ripe cherries appear on the nose, while the palate is medium to full-bodied, silky and fine, but with some substance and concentration, finishing with soft, dusty tannins. Good concentration, balance, length. (Joe Czerwinski)
    VN9191 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2022
Freemark Abbey’s 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) is dark, supple and inviting. Black cherry, plum, mocha and licorice give this open-knit Cabernet tons of up-front appeal. Silky tannins wrap around the juicy, inviting finish. The 2018 is attractive, but it is also a bit soft. I would prefer to drink it over the near and medium term.
    JD9191 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 12/21/2021
There are roughly 25,000 cases of the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley, which is sourced from all over the valley. Certainly a beautiful wine worth seeking out (and it should be easy to find), it has ample ripe cherry and cassis fruits as well as spicy oak and tobacco nuances. This impeccably made, medium-bodied, elegant Cabernet will shine for a decade. (Jeb Dunnuck)
    WE9090 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 10/1/2022
Blended with small amounts of Merlot, Malbec, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc, this is an approachable, well-made appellation wine that shows a backbone of structure and power. The appellation 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is another winner. Ripe red and black fruits, dried flowers, and spice all define the bouquet, and it’s up-front, soft, balanced, and just delicious. Drink bottles over the coming decade. (Jeb Dunnuck)
    RP9090 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 15th Sep 2022
The winery’s largest bottling, approximately 38,000 cases, is the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley. Primarily from the Hardester Ranch in Pope Valley, with other major contributions from St. Helena, Soda Canyon and Glass Mountain, it’s a medium to full-bodied effort, with bold flavors of cherries, cassis and cedar. It’s easy, but not soft, nicely firm, with a long, silky-textured finish. (Joe Czerwinski)

Ripe blackcurrants and blackberries, framed with notes of sweet vanilla, eucalyptus and chocolate. Full-bodied, soft and mellow. Polished tannins and a ripe fruit core with a long finish. Chewy at the end, with a cola undertone. Better from 2023.

Deep ruby-purple, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley offers lush blackcurrants and black cherries with touches of eucalyptus, milk chocolate, dried thyme and vanilla bean on the nose. The medium-bodied palate is soft and plush, with concentrated, chocolaty fruits and a long, spicy finish. (Erin Brooks)

A good value, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley has plenty of classic darker cassis and currant-like fruits as well as medium to full body, hints of spicy oak and tobacco, silky tannins, and outstanding length. This charming, balanced, delicious 2019 should be drunk over the coming decade. 1800 cases. (Jeb Dunnuck)

Shows cherry and plum paste notes allied to a red licorice spine, with a lightly roasted apple wood note framing the juicy finish. Drink now through 2026. 1,800 cases made. (James Molesworth)
