RP9090 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 14th Oct 2021 Pale in color, the NV Saumur Brut Rosé Corail is a pure Cabernet Franc with a very light pink color and a delicate nose that intermingles red fruit aromas with floral notes. Aged on the lees for at least nine months, this is a supple, round and harmonious sparkling wine with intense, well-structured fruit and texture, and it has a long and aromatic finish. The mousse is very delicate and gentle. This is a very charming Brut from Saumur. Tasted in June 2021.

The wine seems to layer that chalk’s seabed heritage into beautiful richness, as it combines different parcels aged in stainless steel, oak barrels or concrete. “It reminds me of architecture,” Tina Vaughn of NYC’s The Simone said. “The smell of a building site—granite, concrete, steel beams.
